Mets with another walk off homerun. This time Henry Blanco plays the role of Superman. Must suck to be a Giants fan.
Barajas is a terrible hitter. Luckily for us his occasional homeruns are coming in big situations.

I wasn't to happy with K-rod blowing it in the 9th. He is another player that looks like a big waste of money and another reason Omar should be gone. Looks like the Angels were right in letting him leave because he just is not as dominant as he once was.
his home runs do not feel occasional to me. He is hitting in the clutch and that is something this met fan likes to see. sure he sucks for average but thats what we get for a fly ball hitter. I wanted Barajas since day 1 in the off season and now we compare him to BenMo is fat and cant round the bases for the life of him...ill take my chances with Barajas...plus the staff has improved with him and Blanco working them than santos and Thole who both have no power and are ok defensively. im happy with the catcher situation right now because its the best we got since Big Mike left us. Brian Schnieder is in no way a good alternative to piazza.

as for Frankie. I am sure it was just a bad pitch and the guy got good wood. cant knock em for that...shit happens but Frankie recovered today for two straight innings. I can come away happy with that.
Not get to high on Barajas. He has bounced around teams for a reason. With that said, he is a decent back-up.
really? because it doesnt seem like he has bounced around the league. 5 years with Zona, 4 years with Texas, and 1 year with the Phils(didnt last long probably due to Ruiz being really good) and 3 years with Toronto. I feel like you make it sound like he has been pulling a miguel Cairo and has been bouncing around from team to team on a yearly basis. I just do not think teams were willing to pay him what he wanted and plus they each team had a younger stud for cheaper the price.Again Ill take him though. 9 home runs so far isnt bad in the 7 or 8 hole.

im loving it! Another day to feel clutch! Johan still a little shakey but he went 7 today. I am happy with that and bullpen was lights out. even Frankie pitched 2 innings. and Tak finished it off. good way to bounce back from the Reds series even though it came to late inning heroics...it just feels good to win like that...Something the 08-09 Mets couldnt do.
Royals won 2 out of 3 and almost swept the Rays in Tampa.

Mariners are the real cupcake this year so far to draw.
As a mariners fan im not ashamed to say I turn the TV off everytime they fall behind 1-0 because the lead is insurmountable. Worst offense. EVER.

I didn't like any of the free agent catchers that were out there. I am happy with the duo we got so far but it is no where near a long term thing. I would take a guy with a better avg and obp then someone who is going to hit 20-25 home runs for us and bat under .250 with a horrible obp. Yeah he has 9 HRs already and thats great, and yeah a couple have came in the clutch but don't expect any of that to last. Look at his career stats.

With K-rod I wasn't just speaking about last night. He already has 2 blown saves this year and look at the season he had last year. We did not get the dominant K-Rod we thought we were getting when we gave him that big contract.

true and true. I see what your saying. Oh yeah def not a long a term....I dont think it would be that nice to lock up two aging catchers for the long haul. I do see Thole up here in a year or two but lets see if he can improve his offense. Barajas has always been a poor average guy...but he is a fly ball hitter....its all he does is hit fly ball outs. thats why his avg and on base is poor. he either bombs them or not....but it still gives us a much needed threat before the pitcher...because you know for a fact the pitcher rarely ever knocks em in so he can be good for that. Plus he is back in the NL and with parks like Citizens and Coors...it makes him a little better. I still only see him hitting 18 by the end of the year but ill take what we can get right now.....we are still above .500 and still hanging with the phightin Phills....so i have no complaints right now. I had rock bottom expectations with this team at the beginning and heck even if they finished 2nd in the NL..ill be happy at this point.

I hear you on K-Rod too......He wasn't worth the money for a closer and yeah he blown two games already...but i think thats due to a lack of work. he hasn't pitched at all really in April so i dont think he hasn't had the chance to build any real consistency with his pitches....its like his arm is too new and he still needs work to locate his pitches. im sure he will be fine later in the season..but yeah i see what your saying..we got him on the tail end of his career.

Not to be a jerk but I am going to laugh if a single player this season out homers the Mariners as a team.

Mariners as a team have 10 homeruns. 7 guys in the AL have 8 or more and Konerko has 13. NL has 6 guys with 8 are more and Either/Johnson both have 10.

i lol because people are complaining saying they dont want bengie molina. I lol because we have rob johnson up here and no one apparently knows what true suffering is.

The Red Sox have been made the Yankees bitched the last 2 games. Not going to lie, glad they won't play again until August, after the 2 game set next week. They've made the Sox look like their bitches. Oddly enough, my two favorite teams were involved in beatdowns with the winner scoring 14. Sadly, only one of them won. The Reds.

Robbie J struck out with the bases loaded in the 9th tonight. On our way to a ten game losing steak BABY!!!!

May as well as end the season early and start the "where does cliff lee get traded" talk begin!

Red Sox schedule doesn't get any easier this month. It's scary to think of how horrible the Red Sox have been at home so far. 1-8 so far against the Yankees and Tampa. Tampa and Yankees have combined to outscore the Red Sox something like 65-25.

1 NYY
3 Toronto
3 in Detroit
2 in NY
2 Minnesota
3 in Philly
4 in Tampa

I'm hoping for a salvage of this series, hopefully the Lester from his last start shows up today. If not, it will be a long day. I think 4 of 6 from TOR/DET is fathomable. I'd take 7/11 in the following 4 series.

The Mets seem to get a lot of guys at the tail end of their careers and this is what has hurt Omar the most has a GM. He pays these guys way to much money and we usually do not get the return on it.

Don't get me wrong, I am extremely happy at the way the team has been playing as of late. I just can't see it holding up all year.

Holy Cow was Ollie Perez ugly today. 7 walks and 98 pitches in 3 and 1/3 innings pitched. Pretty lucky to have only given up " 4 runs".

Giants bullpen blows another Lincecum start. Timmy should be at least 7-0 so far this year. The bullpen has blown at least 2 run leads each time.

when do the Mets send down Meija to develop more pitches? Guy has pretty good stuff but walks the park. Meija blows the lead with a walk and a pop fly that catches the wind for a 2 run shot. Mets lose 6-5 as Wright, Davis and Francoeur all strike out with Bay stranded at 2nd with no outs.

Santana of the Angels flat out stinks. He has given up 2 homeruns to the Mariners so far who increase their homerun output for the season 20 percent. They now have 12 homeruns.

Arod's Gf of the A's has a perfect game through 5 innings against the Rays.

Ollie Sucks! He will and forever shall suck. This guy is not even a developmental project. He just sucks. He has no consistency, he doesn't think there is anything wrong with him but there is, his delivery gets sloppy,no location, no resilience, no resourcefullness...just time to get rid of him and eat his ugly contract. he is our Kei Igawa but probably 10x worse.

I am happy with today's performance today...we lost but the mets battled back...something last year's team failed to do. i think when they move Reyes back to lead off than things should be a LITTLE beter. it doesnt help that he is second in Ks behind Justin Upton. He is pressing WAY TOO MUCH.

i never wanted Meijia up in the first place. He is supposed to be our future starter to take over a spot in the rotation...but now he is being developed in to an 8th guy.....not the way to do it...they will ruin him. If they left him there to work on pitching...maybe he can get called up to replace perez..but now we are left with R.A Dickey,Dillon Gee, and Pat Misch as potential replacements. Way to go Front Office.

The Mets bullpen has been pretty bad lately. Maybe they are being overworked. Whos fault could that be...

I guess Braden didn't need A-rod to give him is 15 minutes of fame.

seriously overworked. i cant remember 1 game the Nieve was put in....same with Meijia and Tak. doesnt help we lost Igarashi too but he wouldve been overworked also...telling you man..i cant wait till these two get canned.

Just out of curiosity if they put Perez in the bullpen, who would you like to see replace him? I for one have no idea... I guess Tak would come in but he is doing so well out of the bullpen I don't know if you want to mess that up. Also why can't Jerry pick a guy as a set up man?!? Obviously Feliciano is not the answer. Meijia...please just send him down to be a starter. Tak...well why not?
Good to have Braden on my fantasy team.
He was dropped in my league last week and went through waivers unclaimed. Whoops.

2 perfect games in 2 years against the Rays. Wow. What are the odds on that one.

Kershaw was a stud yesterday. Way to pwn Ubaldo dude. Kershaw told Torre he wanted the complete game shutout. Torre told em "I'm sure you do. Good job" and gave the ball to the closer. Haha.

Can a Red Soxs fan answer me this: Why is it that your manager not only continues to play David Ortiz but he continues to bat him before Adrian Beltre who is batting .330+. Even if they are mostly singles it would still be more productive. This is something I'll never understand in baseball. A managers want to stay with shitty players in the lineup in their normal spot in the order even when others outperform them. Lou Pinnella seems like the only guy that will move people down (Aramis). Same thing with the Mariners idiot of a manager. He has the worst offense in the league and yet he continues to put Griffey and Sweeney in the four hole.
And I thought Jason Bay struck out a lot. Not compared to Wright....wow
Mets Offense is just as horrendous as Oliver Perez. Each and every one of them can't hit for shit. Even Davis is struggling..but i can't blame him. he has to press for hits when the rest of the team can't hit for Shit. They are striking out way too much and of course they can't do what i keep saying over and over and over and over again. RISP today 1-12....i think they are 7-56 with the bases loaded. They won't win another game if they do no improve those numbers....can't get that GW homer all the time.

I can't blame Maine for the loss tonight. He had no run support and he only gave up 3 runs. I think its safe to say he is somewhat back. David Wright is not right. He is pressing every single AB when he doesn't have to. He needs to get it out of his head to stop pulling a Jeff Francouer and swing at every single pitch. you know Wright is the first Met ever to get 8Ks in a row and he hit 9Ks today before his single. This problem has been going on since last year and its a fucking joke that it has never been addressed.

I cant believe they designated Catalanotto over Strike out matthews Jr. They both sucked equally but rather have Frank over K but whatever Carter is FINALLY UP and maybe he can start getting us hits off the bench.

i know but still...would rather have sent him down that frank...atleast frank gives versatility in the field....Matthews can't do diddly. I can't wait till Beltran comes back so the KMJ project is done and over with.

The problem is, if they cut Matthews and Pagan gets hurt (we know he will at some point) who plays CF?

I remember when Gary Matthews had a career year here for the Rangers and then left to go to Angels and did absolutely nothing. And now he is a career bench player. I love it.

I have a soft spot for GMJ because his dad, Gary Matthews (Sarge) was a good player in his day and is currently a lovable color commentator for the Phillies.

Great 8th inning comeback so far for the Mets. Down 6-2 they have scored 5 runs so far to take a 7-6 lead.

Tyler Clippard is becoming one of the most overrated relief pitchers in baseball. He has a great strike out to walk ration, great k/9, great era and a ton of wins. He has also let every inherited runner score and has blown 5 saves now.

Josh Hamilton just delivered for the Rangers in the 8th. Destroyed a Ziggler fastball right down the middle. Hopefully they can hold on and increase their division lead to two games.

You jinxed your team.

So the Braves just swept the Brewers. Finally got the offense going, but I find it funny how it's against the Brewers of all teams considering.
