That really helped show that he's 17 for 33 with the bases loaded, and of course he doesn't get a hit...

Also, why do all the pitchers on Detroit and STL have facial hair?
Playoff beards....wait wrong sport
So they can all be "hip and cool". Then again, would you rather they be metrosexual rather than grizzled?
Ask the Yankees.

No, but every single one of them has one, in fact I got one myself, but it's just a little weird to see all of Detroit's have a beard/mustache and all of STL have full beards
Huh, I thought Bonderman was set for the third game.

Um... darn? Guillen's back playing short, Casey's at first, and Santiago isn't in the lineup, and Joe Buck says this is a problem? That's basically how they played all season.
The problem is that you are listening to a guy named Joe buck.
Please for the love of god get Nate out and put Zumaya in.
Yeah, they should do that right now
Well, looks like it's happening, thank god.
Maybe they should have not done that now:whistle2:#

At least Zumaya hasn't given up a run yet.

Edit: NEVERMIND, fuck you Zumaya.
Welp, looks like going to be 2-1 Cards :whistle2:(

Thank you, bring in Grilli.
I'm not going to say anything as the the Tigs still have 2 innings and they're down by a rallyable amount... but :applause::applause::applause:

I stopped watching after 5 innings. I've had too long a day to freak out at the fucking Tigers.

As long as they snag 2 out of 3 in Stl, they'll be okay.

This might be asking a bit much... I know they're up 4-0

But fuck they could easily be up 6-0 with a def guaranteed game if they just sac flyed in the 4th and 7th

Well, I just hope Bonderman plays good, and our bats actually CONNECT.
Is it just me, or when they show close-ups of Carpenters face, doesn't he look like he's gonna break down and cry all the time?
It's either because he's pitching a 3-hitter

Or it works on the Tigers hitting emotionally

I've noticed it all game, idk, but, it just jumped into my mind.

Maybe it's because of the way he's hitting?

Yeah, I've noticed it too during the season... but it works

 Must be doing something right if they got to the WS with him as one of their aces.

Oh man, I almost thought another error was going to happen when they just got Carpenter out... I mean if it's going to happen it might as well tonite right?

I'd say tomorrow night is up in the air, whoever wins that game wins the series...
That looked like it hurt, exact reason why I don't play catcher
First Yadi catches one in the jewels, and now this. I'm tending to agree with you there.

While Carpenter has pitched a wonderful game the Tigers sure like making things easier for him. The team has zero patience at the plate.

Tigers better turn it around in a hurry, the Cardinals are looking good and the tigers are looking like that team that got swept by the Royals, only worse. They are lucky to not be down 3-0 right now.

If the NLCS Suppan shows up, they are in real trouble.

Yeah, the Tigers look horrible....I'm still baffled why they were the "heavy favorites". They were horrible in the 2nd half of the season. They did good in the playoffs thus far, until the WS. Oh well, we'll see tonight and tomorrow

Oh well, we'll see tonight and tomorrow
They were heavy favorites because if they were playing how they did in the playoffs thus far, they'd be up 3-0. But no execution on offense and mediocre work on the mound change that around real quick.

Wow, now that's a pitching performance worthy of all the praise.

I'm a Cards fan, but living in Ohio I don't get to see them much other than post-season play. All I kept hearing about was how great Carpenter was - and he was decent in the NCLS, but not up to the reputation. Last night he delivered.

I could definitely see this going 7 games. Like the NCLS, the teams seem to be switching back and forth as to who's playing better.

it is tough to come back after so a long layoff...the hitters lose there timing, and the pitchers are out of there usual routine. The guy last night hadn't pitched in about 2 wks. That is a long time to go without pitching in a competitive game.

At this point, getting Casey and Zumaya healthy wasn't worth everyone else losing all touch with the game. Maybe that will change over the next 2-4 games though.

well game three lost over 3million viewers from game 2....i wonder if people turned into game 2 after a friend would call about kenny rogers hand..

here are the numbers for the series from game 3

Game three of the World Series (Detroit vs. St. Louis) on Fox came in at a potent, but far from spectacular 11.2/18 in the overnights from 8:30-11:45 p.m., with an approximate 13.88 million viewers and a 4.2/11 among adults 18-49 in prime time. Comparatively, that was down from the year-ago game three World Series match-up between The Chicago White Sox and the Houston Astros (Overnights: 13.1/23, 16.65 million; A18-49: 5.7/18 on Oct. 25, 2005) by 15 percent in the overnights, 2.77 million viewers and 26 percent among adults.

As a reminder, total viewers and adults 18-49 from last night are based on the fast nationals. Any prior results are based on the final nationals
Why do you think Fox is (for the most part) dumping baseball?
\

Because this series has been beyond boring, same goes with the whole playoffs.
