Modern Warfare 2 CAG Clan - Wednesday/Friday @ 7PST/10EST

Don't you think that the hardcore mode should have no autoaim since a lot of people seem to camp in that mode on most of the maps? I don't see how it is so hardcore with autoaim lol. I just started to get into the game even though i got it at launch. All those boosters, noob tubers,cheaters, lag, and autoaim really turned me off at first. I finally have me some akimbo magnums and the acr and i have finally gotten to a 1.01 kd. The game is finally starting to be fun and i would like to enjoy it with all of you but i need the new maps and just posted in the gameshare thread. I hope to join the fight but just don't knife me if you are looking at me for 10 seconds when i don't even see you like some of these rookies do.

O excellent map pack came out today. Probably be on either tomorrow or wednesday. Way to hot to play mw2. I am afraid of my ps3 melting even with the AC on. Cant wait for the cold weather lol
 
Not sure I'll even play MW2 with me wanting to play BFBC2 and Red Dead Redemption right now but I'll pay for the maps if Fred is continuing our map gameshare.

Nowlive nailed it dead on. It hit over 108 degrees today and I was outdoors for most of it. Went to work early, didn't eat all day until 11:30 at night, got home at 12 am just to take a shower and crash since we have a crap ton of calls set up for tomorrow.

If I can find my PSN card in the next few moments I'll make the purchase now but don't expect miracles, I've basically teetered on dehydration all day.
 
Just a quick update before I pass out. I found my PSN card, map pack is purchased and I'll be picking up people from the gameshare previous sometime tomorrow. That should include Kaiser, Syn, Snore and... crap, I forgot who else. I'm sure they'll chime in.

Edit: It's Skydive! For some reason I think he's like a camouflaged Jedi because I keep forgetting identifying details in events that happen around him.

Assuming it is raining here after work and my son doesn't get a nap today, I will be on playing...debating about doing 1 prestige since it is double XP...but that is the death sentence this week on anything else I want to play or do.....

Just got home not too long ago, got Kaiser set up. Missed Snorez by like 4 minutes, so Skydive, Snorez and Syn left.

Also just hold onto your monies for a couple days, I need to go create a bank account, I've been meaning to set one up just for paypal.
 
Fred & everyone that I was on with for 1 match - sorry about bailing. My tolerance level on MW2 is little these days. A beat down is fine if deserved, but 7 deaths by knife was too much for me to take and want to stick with that same host again. The host advantage was pretty bad in that Highrise domination match. I did not win a single face-to-face knife fight - none of the killcams showed me even getting it out - and I switched to my command pro class after the first two deaths. This game in frustrating....where are the dedicated servers at?

*sigh* - I'm a maybe for tomorrow night.

Highrise is terrible to play on if you start to lose the flags. You lose the middle and one of the buildings, and you are practically screwed. Two guys can cover all the exit points (except one, which I often use when being spawnkilled hehe...) and if you have the entire team waiting on you to leave the building, you have 0% chance to escape with a positive record.
 
Here's a (admittedly rather stupid) question for you guys to ponder:

Can you shoot and blow up a grenade, BEFORE the grenade explodes on its own? If somebody throws a grenade, is there a window of opportunity to shoot and blow up the grenade before the fuse lets the 'nade go off naturally? Especially with Sit Rep on...

Speaking of Highrise, you definitely need to make use of the underground path. That and bust on your smoke and/or noob tube class just to get out the door.
 
BFGN! Skydive and Syn, try to catch me tonight, I'll get you both set up. My work has utterly killed me and even coming on just to check out the maps with Kaiser I couldn't take it and had to sleep. I'm on call for this next week, tonight being Friday or this weekend will be the best times to catch me.
 
Man we had some great games tonight. We practically steamrolled everybody we came up against. It just goes to show that with proper teamwork and good communication we can make the other team rage quit.

Personally I think the ping isn't a good signal of what your connection is.

It depends on your connection. If you have a fast connection and you're pulling a 3 bar ping, it's pretty damned accurate that you're connecting to somebody on the opposite coast or if they've got a shitty connection. However, the Playstation network protocols are complete garbage, if you set up a proxy to run your connection through your computer, speed will increase by a fair amount if you're suffering from bandwidth bottlenecks. Make sure no active connections are going in and out from your router while playing, I think a couple of issues last night with lag had to do with me having uTorrent open but not uploading/downloading since PeerBlock shows a crap ton of active incoming traffic that stops when I turn the program off.

Steady Aim - I mainly use the Scar, and SA seems better suited for smg's
SitRep - I'm kinda meh about this one, what does it help with besides claymores?
Scrambler - meh, seems like a warning to the enemy, if anything.

Just wondering what others do once they've gotten the max 10,000 xp from a Perk. Stick with it, or try leveling something else?

No worries, I was hosting all the games and I didn't realize leaving uTorrent open would cause so much lag, I kinda just figured out that's what it was this morning. So I apologize for the lag. Otherwise everything went well, I'd say charge up your headset so it's ready next time around, we usually run with 4 to 7 people on average.

SitRep is probably the better perk out of the 3, Scrambler is phenomenal for Capture the Flag if you've got it maxed out but that's about as useful as it gets. Sitrep will let you spot claymores, C4, semtex and tactical insertions from afar, good for hunting down potential campers but it's very hard to level up simply because it gets a little retarded trying to shoot that many claymores/c4/tac inserts.
 
I back what Mad said on the perk 3 stuff. I rarely utilize anything other than Ninja and an occasional run going Commando....but Ninja most of the time Mad hosts since I usually end up with a crap connection to him for some reason - and the red-headed WOW child gets 4 bars and is further away....stupid ISP. I may go get a DOSCIS 3.0 cable modem to see if that helps at all....that's about my last hope for latency..then again, they got a bajillion $$ from the game, put up some fucking dedicated servers.

I *may* be on tonight....had to help a relative with a deck last night and didn't get home until 11ish.

Having something like uTorrent open or uploading a video makes connection next to impossible. Sometimes it took me multiple minutes to connect, though when I managed to get into a game my connection was flawless, as usual. Which was kinda weird...

Well, personally I maxed out Commando, Ninja and Steady Aim, but I usually roll with Commando just to keep up with the the Commando guys. I think SitRep/Scramber are perks that only a few select people like.

if I had to pick one of the three to start out using, I would go with SitRep because more and more people are using Claymores. Its going to take until Modern Warfare 7 to unlock SitRep Pro though, barring a cheater lobby where you could level it up quickly.

I think Steady Aim is good, but since you use the already accurate (at close range, unless you use a special tactic only some guys know) SCAR, I don't think its necessary. Scramber is just a warning to people, although at times if somebody hides in a good spot I go looking for them and get ambushed. Rare though, because most of the time (at least I do), I just wait until the Scrambler guy tries to sneak up on me and ambush him.
 
ugh....prestige + alcohol = accuracy drain. Only level 6 after 3 matches. Thank god domination is open. Did they really take out CTF? Those fuckers. Barebones sounds like a porn game.

CTF is still available in private matches and through their play list but yeah, it's a load of crap. They need to make submenus rather than remove game options. For the time being it's back to Demo for me.

Maybe it was a bit of alcohol, but are the match bonuses a fraction of what they used to be before this patch? While I didn't smoke it in Sabotage (think 6-3), I did get the plant & detonation....yet got < 400 for the match. I've noticed this same trend in domination.

One other thought that has me pondering - there was this 10th prestige person, level 5, who just kept cooking himself in a Dom match last night with his riot shield on his back. Any thoughts on that? The guy ended up something like 0-95 or something like that.....yet we still won the match with me playing & that handicap.
