Via Electronic Theatre:
UPDATE: A recent tweet by Infinity Ward's fourzerotwo indicates that the delay may have come from higher up, as he's clueless to why the PC release would have been pushed.
I know our PC players are anxious for official word. I am as well. I will let you know as soon as I do. I promise. When I left, it was fine.
FINAL UPDATE: Rumor squashed. Fourzerotwo has confirmed that the PC release will suffer no delay.
No delay on PC for Modern Warfare 2. You'll also have Prestige Mode in PC as well as lots of Steam support. Hopefully min specs will be soon
Speculation as to whether piracy has a hand in the matter is also up in the air. I should note that this was announced in the UK and Amazon still retains their original listing, but we may see this hit the states as well. At any rate, if this comes to fruition then that's a pretty raw deal for PC gamers since they've had plenty of time to iron out issues prior to release. If anyone is killing the PC market, it's bad publishers like Activision and EA.The PC release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, however, will now arrive a fortnight later, on November 24th 2009.
No official reason has yet been given for the delay, though Electronic Theatre would suggest that perhaps manufacturing constraints are to blame.
