You know, on second thought, I do think that Indians logo is a tad insensitive. Here's what it should be:
Not much for gracious winning there in Boston, eh?

That's too bad.
Nothing to do with the outcome of the game, I came across that and thought it was funny.

The Indians weren't too gracious when things looked good for them... Victory is just as sweet on the road, or whatever the quote was. And selling Indians World Series t-shirts in Cleveland? A little presumptuous, to say the least.

If I wanted to taunt Indians fans about tonight's game, I'd have used a mushroom cloud. This series is NOT over, game 7 will be a battle.
And selling Indians World Series t-shirts in Cleveland? A little presumptuous, to say the least.
I hadn't read about the tshirts thing. I kinda want to smack people over the head who started doing that. How obnoxious is that?

Tomorrow night will be interesting. Cleveland fans all saw this coming, anyway. With our teams it's all or nothing. It'll either be last at bat triumph or heart-break. Some of those games against Detroit in the NBA finals were torture (never mind the Cavs getting destoryed by the Spurs ;) ).

That'll be another sport with a Boston-Cleveland conference finals this season.

Is Mr. No Name pitching tomorrow? Because if he is then for the Red Sox it will be a disaster and not a battle.

What the hell happened to Carmona and C.C.? They've been soo good during the season. I don't understand it.

Tommorrow will be one hell of a battle though. I still have hope.

I know you know better, but I thought rest of the fans knew better as well.

This is a fan base that has seen some f'ed up stuff.

Jordan made his name ripping the Cavs hearts out
Elway had the drive
Art Modell moved the Browns
The late 90's Indians had arguably the most talented everyday line-up since the Big Red Machine. Jim Thome, Manny Ramirez, Robby Alomar, Omar Vizquel, Kenny Lofton, etc. All in their primes
Jim Brown retired in his prime

Tonight should be good. I'd rather have Byrd on the mound than Westbrook, though, but I guess he's not had enough rest yet?

cc and carmona might just be tired...they both threw about 50 more inn then there previous highs. Many feel cc will win the cy young over beckett due to the fact he pitched 42 more inn, and still had the numbers. Both of the indian pitchers were closing in on 250 ip. That is a shit load of inn in todays market

Westbrook and Dice K have been equally bad in the post season. In the regular season Dice K had a lower BAA although slightly higher ERA, but A LOT more wins. Momentum is on Sox side and we are in Boston. You fail.

Wait... ;)
hey tribe dont worry theres always next year, who cares?
i guess thats the sort of mentality the distinguishes the sox, yankee fans from the indians, rockies fans
i guess thats the sort of mentality the distinguishes the sox, yankee fans from the indians, rockies fans
Yeah, because selling Indians World Series merchandise after game 5 is not at all indicative of that mentality. And their postgame comments were just as humble as can be.

Give me a break with this crap.
Yup, winning a clinching game at home after winning several in a row is a sure thing!

Yeah but he was stating that his pitcher had a better chance at Dice K. Was just overlooking the stats.

But it doesn't matter anyways because if stats are correct the Indians should have already won it. They squandered their chances and the Sox have brought this to game 7, and if they lose the Indians are just a joke as the Yankees were when they were up 3-0. If the Sox lose we will cry and cheer the Rockies on.

This is all too familiar. Remember when the Yankees did the same thing, and remember the idiot comments?

So Paul Byrd has been taking HGH...
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/playoffs2007/news/story?id=3072845
Byrd spent $24,850 to buy more than 1,000 vials of growth hormone as well as hundreds of syringes.
Byrd's purchase was from the Florida anti-aging clinic that was the focus of law enforcement for illegally distributing performance-enhancing drugs
two of the prescriptions Byrd used to buy the growth hormone were written by a Florida dentist. The dentist's license was suspended in 2003 for fraud and incompetence.

All the feeling about "momentum" and "home field advantage" is exactly what Cleveland was thinking in game 5. Just a little bit ironic. :)

And here-here on the Rockies back. If the Indians don't make it, it'll take any hesitation I have out of the World Series. The Rockies have sort of been my adopted NL team since they were founded in 93, so I'd be excited to cheer them on. :) Of course, I'd rather see the Indians in there, but I guess we'll find out tonight! Hopefully it's a good one and not a blow out either way.
So Paul Byrd has been taking HGH...
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/playoffs2007/news/story?id=3072845
It would seem that had is a better word to use there.

I'm no expert in this, but is the 2nd comment accurate on that article, that they weren't banned when he was using them and seems to have stopped once they were banned?

I don't know why these talented athleets think they need to use these crappy things to make it. You seem to hear about it more with baseball than other sports, but come on guys, you're talented. Make the most of that with drugging yourself.

If we are to take his word for it, then yes, he stopped once they were banned from baseball and he did it completely on the up and up, despite the bogus prescription from a dentist and the $25,000 worth of HGH bought with straight cash.

I doubt if it's affected his performance at all, he throws junk and isn't a reliever. I believe the article was hinting at injuries as the reason why, which is understandable. This probably isn't a big deal, but his explanation seems a little fishy to me. Taking this stuff to recover from injuries seem to be very common in pro sports now, Rodney Harrison was busted for it not too long ago.

I guess I don't think the risk of getting busted for something is worth taking it. Although, my job isn't on the line if I don't get back to 100% in x amount of time either.

Oh yes, very ironic and wouldn't be suprised if the Indians won, just upset :p

Your not the only one to support them in 93. Granted I was just a kid back then (11 years old) but my parents actually bought me a Rockies spring jacket that I sported for several years. The Rockies are a awesome team, and back then Andres Gallarga, Dante BITCHette and all the others guys made up a awesome offense. They were one of the few teams to have such tremendous power, but their pitching always sucked unfortunately. Now they have pitching and hitting power so they have the chemistry to win the World Series. If the Sox win tonight I have to cheer them on, but would not be as upset if they lost the series compared to losing to the cardinals (which thankfully didn't happen).

Should be a great game tonight.

I can't wait to see Dice-K blow it again. He's been terrible for 2 months. What a flop. I remember a couple ESPN talking heads predicting he would win the Cy Young.

I'm always a big underdog-supporter. I'd say that the Rockies are definitaly the underdogs when compared to the Red Sox. I'm not sure if I'd say the same about the Indians. By the season standings, yeah, but yowsa are the Rockies on fire right now. Meanwhile, we give up 10 runs in 3 innings.

We do not speak the assholes name.

I still don't understand why he is pitching. The Red Sox should be smart enough to know he sucks. I rather have Josh Beckett pitch again on two days rest than that fucker who will blow it.

Well we gave up 7 runs *twice* in single innings in the playoffs so far. One in extra innings and the other in the Wakefield fallout. The extra innings hurt the most.

Dice K gave up 4 runs on the last outing, Westbrook 2. So I actually have to give the advantage to Westbrook now. My bad.

Westbrook's known for having one bad inning in a lot of his starts -- hopefully that won't happen tonight and we can pull this one out. The city really needs a championship of some sort to get behind.

On the flipside, next year is looking great regardless as the only players we're going to lose to free agency are Lofton and Nixon. I can't see them not picking up the $4 mill options on Byrd and JoeBo; $4 for a #4 starter who won 15 games this year is a steal, and even though Borowski doesn't have the stuff that a lights out closer needs, he's got the mentality that no one else in the bullpen proved to have in '06.

Although I'm not a huge Red Sox fan, I'd really like to see them win, because if they make it to the World Series, my History teacher is going to give us all 5 points on our next test.

If they win the World Series, he'll give us all 10 points :D

That's because you're an idiot.

Matsuzaka can pitch... He just doesn't have it all together yet. It took Beckett a year to adjust from the NL to the AL, and it'll take Matsuzaka time to adjust from the Japanese league.

He needs to realize that he can't be a nibbler in the majors. He's a power pitcher and he needs to pitch like it.

Look at Schilling last night. Didn't have his best stuff, not by a longshot. Looked like he might get knocked around a little. How did he finish? 7 innings, 2 earned runs. Why? Because he had 0 BB. Carmona gave up 7 runs because of the walks.
I don't understand why Lofton didn't argue that call, he looked restrained.
That was so close. I understand why the call was made as it was, but, ouch, that hurts.

This is the game I was hoping for. A good battle with a few runs.

I'm surprised Westbrook is still in there, though. But, he just got a strike out so whatever. Here's hoping the Indians can get on top before Beckett gets called in to relieve. :p

All if sudden Westbrook is missing bats like he has an emery board in his glove

Wow, scratch what I said about yanking Westbrook. He's looking pretty darn sharp now. Just need a little bit of offense to help him out.
WTF Kenny Lofton.
I was just going to say that they would have been better off had Gutierrez not gotten that hit, but too late.
The heck was Skinner doing keeping Lofton at 3rd? He had enough speed to get in there without even a slide.
He must have forgotten that the guy running for the ball was the slowest non-fat man in baseball.

When was the last time a third base coach was blamed for a playoff series loss?

Only in Cleveland. You can now add the Skinner to:

The Drive
The Fumble
The Shot

Etc...

What the fuck was he thinking?
