Monster Hunter Tri
I ran into some real nice folks yesterday who were helping me clear the event quest to kill 4 Jaggis. I need to run that one more time I think to have the raw materials tomake the Jaggi head piece. I want to make sure to get enough Heads to make one, even once the quest isn't available online.
Just FYI, it takes 5 more heads to upgrade it if you decide to do that (after maxing it out with Armor Sphere upgrades). Brings the defense up from 5 to 22. Though I guess you also need high-rank Jaggi goods too, so not something one can do for a while.

Yea, I heard you needed 8 heads total to fully upgrade it. I would just be pumped to get the head at some point. Though I'm pretty sure the events will cycle and repeat eventually, I've played too many MMOs to trust that completely.

I would suggest crafting Jaggi Mask too, love the extra rewards you get at the end.

What extra rewards?

The mask has +10 Fate, which gives you the Good Luck skill. You're likely to get more/rarer rewards after quests.

Just hit HR 26 online and finished my Los armor (finally!!) from a lucky carve off of a tail leading to my first plate (and last.. for now). Now I need to capture Barioth and hit HR 30 to get my final low rank urgent! it's been a long time since I've put a lot of hours into a game (just hit 61hrs). Been great the entire way.

I doubt I'll be online tonight as I'm going with friends to the midnight showing of Iron Man 2.

It's not that impressive really. What's impressive is people being mid-30+ HR.

Hunts can take 15 minutes+ and give you around 1000 HR points (at least the ones I do). That's not counting failures either, lol.

Hey - since there is seemingly such a huge CAG presence in this game, we should totally try to monopolize a constant area online.

Do most people play in Rookie servers or ALL servers? Maybe we should all try to play in ALL servers, like 8th gate, like cities 80-89? (I honestly cannot remember the specific breakdown of the servers, but something easy enough that we can all remember the cities we play in)? Is this even something that we can do?

If someone's on I just try to warp to them. Haven't added everyone, usually just let people message me and request a friend request.

Going to play in probably 9 minutes (or try to...), so if anyone wants to meet up and hunt, I guess. I just ask that you are somewhat used to the game and know what to do for the most part.

Don't want to lose quests that much to be honest. If no one is on at that time, I'll just head to some other room and if you message me and want to play, I'll come join a room you make. :p

No problem, I'll help you rank up a bit. :D (I will admit, I'm not very generous enough to help out random low levels quest.... :

So I just finished the first quest of the demo. Pardon my noobness but do monsters have any kind of life indicator other than when they start to limp? Because the second quest on the demo disc is a bitch.

Where I go depends on who I'm playing with. GAF has settled on Recruitment > Wisdom 1 > Gate 40, so that's where I go if I'm not meeting someone already elsewhere.

If we pick anywhere for CAG, might as well keep it in Recruitment, whatever else works for me.

Nope! But you get used to it.

Jump Four Jaggi! is still a very good quest to farm for HR points. With 4 people it's easy to buttrape them and get it over with fast, lol. Me and Amari just did it (with another guy's help for 3 of them, but he got dc'd).

Roll and dodge. What weapon are you trying? If you keep failing, try a different one.

EDIT: I don't understand why this is going above genfuyung's post, but I am responding to his post below mine.
If someone joins can you tell them to leave? Lol. :D
Type it out.

I'm going to have to upgrade my weapon again soon. While I can kill a Great Jaggi in record time, Barroth and co. are still a problem. I'm over 52 hours in the game now. This game is too addictive.

I was playing with the long heavy sword that has a block ability since it shoots things at me. I'm thinking of trying the bowgun though since he flies. Open to suggestions.

Yeah, the demo is tough because you only have 20 mintues. I beat him with switch axe.

You just have to keep hitting him, learn his attacks, and dodge at the right time. Not getting hit cuts the time alot. Once you fight him like 3 times you get his pattern. Use a heavy damage weapon like GS, Hammer, SA, or long sword (use the charge attacks, they increase your damage.)

Yeah I tried using the charge attacks but he'd always interrupt with an attack. Ill go back to the switch axe, which is what I used for the first quest. Thanks.

I farmed enough mats from Jhen to make all the pieces, including weapons (ls, sa, and sns). I just need the other mats other than Jhen mats to make it lol :x Still in Rhenoplos armor and started 4* in offline and HR 12 now! I had a Jhen run where I didn't take damage from him and did it in 15 minutes haha, finally got pretty much all his pattern down and when to roll on his back + jump off his back.
Off topic, but you guys should check this out. It's another game I'm interested in and it felt like Monster Hunter, lol.

Edit: Off to bed now, night everyone! Had a pretty good day of hunting, almost ranked up again I believe. :D
I'm interested in LP2 as well, but the first one was really boring and bad I couldn't finish it @_@; Gonna wait for reviews to come out, I suppose the price of the game will drop pretty fast too, Wal-mart has it in Canada on release for $39~

I upgraded my weapon finally. I also hit HR20. I need to build up another weapon soon, but I lack the money to do so, sadly.
nooo the Jhen event is gone for now
Aww, man! I haven't checked online since yesterday so I didn't know.

Man..I never even finished it once.

But atleast I was able to get the jaggi head armor offline. Hopefully I can get better drops now.

So besides "get better fighting underwater" are there any general tips for Gobul? On land he's manageable though I'm sure it would take more than 50 minutes, but underwater he hits harder and moves faster than Ludroth who gave me enough trouble in that environment.

Gobul will always be a bitch to fight, but I heard try to stay under him.... That's really hard to do, so my only advice is bring 10 Mega Points, 10 Potions, 10 herbs. You could also bring in 10 blue mushrooms and 10 honey as well, to make more Mega Potions.

I'll play soon, since my friend said he would play some games with me tonight, but he's not responding. So, I'm up for a few hunts probably. Just post here when you're ready and I'll head on.

That's odd. I found Gobul easy. I use a long sword when I fight him and I always bring a bunch of healing and attack and defense up items like demondrug and stuff. You can also use sonic bombs to make him pop up when he goes underground.

I'll be happy to help you (as long as it's the 2 star quests. I don't know if you're fighting a harder variation of him or something.)

And before I go online, does anyone know how to set the ships to collect treasure? All my ships do is get fish.

EDIT: Oooh. I had to trade with that trade guy to unlock trasures.

Maybe he just had a larger size Gobul to fight. The enemies come in different sizes. If you notice after a quest they measure it out, with larger one's having more life and probably other stats boosted.

Got to repel a Lag-- (the monster on the box) on my first try. Used the shielding lance stab to blow up a bunch of barrel bombs and things went pretty quickly. I also been using drugged meat and it's pretty funny to see the monster run up to eat it and then pass out. Trying out bowguns right now so I'll see how that goes

Online play is like second quest and when you get to level 30, third quest. Online is a little harder but that's what the multiplayer is for.

I'm available to play, been playing for awhile. Actually I can play until around 12 am EST.

Close to getting an Ice Lance. :D
