Monster Hunter Tri

When they're on you have to message them and send them a friend request. Then they have to accept it and they send you one back.

It's not that bad of a process compared to the Friend Code process. :p

Im almost HR2. yeah im a newb but ive been playing single player. If anyone cares to add me ill be online for a bit,

Fishing quests suck and will always suck. Once you get past the boring quests (aka hunting small monster hunting) you won't be bored, trust me. I bet many new players felt the same way, lol.

Sure I can join you tomorrow night, my friend hasn't come back on yet and it's 12:21 am. So, I'm thinking of just heading back onto the Wii and forgetting about him, lol. Or, I may just go to bed as I'm getting tired.

To hunt or not to hunt that is the question.
That's odd. I found Gobul easy. I use a long sword when I fight him and I always bring a bunch of healing and attack and defense up items like demondrug and stuff. You can also use sonic bombs to make him pop up when he goes underground.
I tried him again and didn't faint at all, but finished with a subquest again. I feel like I'm hardly hitting him at all - I can get a combo in once in a while but half my attacks are deflected, regardless of where I target. I have a little better luck going for his head, but that just leaves me open to any number of attacks underwater. He also hung out on land more this time so that made things a little more productive.

They need to provide cheat codes to only fight monsters on land.

Only one hide and spike needed till I can make his sword!

^ What weapon are you using? I had Golem Blade when I did him, just had to keep to his side and chopping away at his tail, when he was limping I swam to the front to destroy the glass. I'm not sure if its the same with other weapon but, the way I use great sword is I'll run in like a half circle into the enemy's back and do a unsheath vertical strike into a slap attack, I only do horizontal if I know the enemy will stay there for a bit or hurting so I can trip the monster, otherwise I just slap and sheath and redo over. I never have my weapon unsheathed and walking around like a slow poke, always attack + maybe combo, roll to the side for fast recovery and sheath. I got a Valkyrie Blade now and it cuts through a lot of things, it stays sharp for a long time too, just need a Rathian plate to upgrade to Sieglinde, I haven't crafted any other weapon yet but I'm thinking of going ahead and craft Guan Dao and give long sword a try.

I'm still wearing Rhenoplos Gear ._.) can't afford to get hit else I take too much damage from a monster, I need those ores and bug to craft Jhen set :( I'm probably going to end up Diablos set too, it has Critical Unsheath, so it totally plays into my playstyle.

You could just upgrade your armor with armor spheres to give your armor a bit more defense.

I need to play single-player for awhile, I want to get to Ceadeus at least. I need to collect some basic items as well. Herbs especially.

Yea I could, but I think I could push to volcano area with Rhen set + Jaggi Mask (I did upgrade this to LV 4). Don't really have a hard time with any boss except Barroth was a little annoying, probably because my weapon was terrible at the time... had to sharpen every 6 attacks literally -_-.

Ceadeus set looks really nice, only downside to it is the Demonic Blessing, but if you are good and don't really get hit at all its a crazy armor.

I started to use the farm for herbs + blue mushroom with dung or super-sized dung as fertilizers, I have over 200 of each now, definitely not worth using farm without any fertilizers, you yield less than half of what you could get without it. I need to advance in offline so I can find where to get the fertilizers for honey.

Using SnS, so the strategy has to be a little different. If I only did unsheathe attacks, it'd take about 3 times as long as a GS user.

I'll figure something out one day. Not going to stress myself out over it, at least there's multiplayer!

Ah, does your shield block reduce a lot of damage? Could swim in put shield up, wait till he does something and combo your slashes then roll to the side and combo and be ready to shield again. Good luck to figuring it out though :D this game is so satisfying when you can take down a huge monster haha.

I ran into a few players who are just really annoying to play with, some of their attacks like GS or SA can launch you in the air, they really need to not use that combo if they are next to someone. This just bugs me to no end, if everyone landed their attacks definitely would be more damage dealt than having one person doing a combo. Plus this guy actually got someone killed doing that lol... Never used the SA yet but is there a combo where it doesn't launch people in the air? I remember seeing an axe drilling attack.

A HA!

Got my Jaggi face tonight -- Need to do the quest 1 more time (I think) to get enough heads to upgrade it fully (though that will take more cash than I have right now).

Also got full Qurupeco Armor (minus the head). Now wonders I'm broke.

Ohhh my god, not sure if rubbing piggy has anything to do with it but I just got a rustshard O_O
Great Baggi took 10 minutes to kill lol, easy one.

Aw the rustshard turned into Aquamatic "Spark" the Frame of a light bowgun kit. I wanted the greatsword
I tried the rank 1 Goldenfish quest. Couldn't find any, got bored, quit.

I don't think I like this game. =(
The fish are in area 10 (on the far right of the shore). Also, two things if it helps.

1) Fish in the daytime, you can actually see the fish somewhat and you'll see a fish look a little different than the rest as far as color goes. That's the goldenfish. The smaller goldenfish are a bit harder to spot. If you leave the area and come back, more can respawn that way too.

2) There's a log nearby which, as far as I know has an unlimited supply of worms (also frogs which I haven't found a fish to like them yet). If you have goldenfish bait, you could use that so you don't have to worry about the other fish. You need Snakebee Larva (from honey spots) + Firefly (bug catching) to make it, although you don't need to use it. Myself, I saved the few I got from those kids so I could make more from the farm, but I don't think you can do either at that point in the game.

But yes, fishing quests are a bitch. I posted earlier about that same quest. I finally got that same quest done at one point thanks to catching a small goldenfish at the last moment, was inches away from the delivery chest and failed from running out of time. I couldn't play the game the rest of the day.

Finally finished the Powderstone Quest. I would've finished it flawlessly if it weren't for those stupid bugs in Area 1 of the Volcano. I didn't attack them when I went by them before, why are they attacking me now? It's a really annoying quest. I also finished the one where I kill a Barroth and Great Jaggi in a single quest. That one's annoying as well, but at least you can fight back in it.

The only quests I have left now are Capture missions. Well, once I capture a Lagiacrus I'll have a few more missions, but I'm not going to touch that one until I upgrade my Weapon a few more times.

EDIT: 2 New Event Quests are up, one is HR18 minimum, one is HR9 minimum. The HR18 one is a doozy.

Event is hard the HR18, did it once and got huge rewards.
Just need to do it once more to get another Incomplete Plans, and I can make the event weapon, ML001: Baltzenger.

Doesn't seem to block enough to do it consistently. Got him limping the last time I tortured myself with it, but ran out of potions. Good times.

Damn guys I havent oopened my bundle yet. Is this repetitive, like doing the same quest over for a collection? I am not a collector in games, I dislike doing the same thing over and over to get an entire collection of something..

Also if you do have to do the same quests over and over, do they feel the same? Do the monsters change locations, etc?

Holy. I am definitely going to farm that event quest later on tonight. :D

I might get Ceadeus armor, but you can gem out the Demonic Blessing, so I mean it probably could be an amazing armor.

I might go on soon, anyone up for doing the event quest? You have to be HR18+ though. :p

Well, the game can really be what you want it to be. I have been running the event quest 'Jump 4 Jaggi' a few times this week to get the materials to make a special mask. But I could have just been running through different off- or on-line quests. Even quests that take place in the same region will have different monsters on different quests, at different times of the day.

I'm a fan of grinding, especially early on, in games like this. I figure if I can get some bomb gear early on, it would make it easier later on. But you don't have to.

And even when you're on amission, you're frequently given more than enough time to enjoy some fishing or gathering while you're doing the main mission.

Good thing about this game is that farming isn't as tedious as farming in other MMOs, ranking up online is quite fast as well so it really isn't dull at all. The amount of times you face a certain monster really helps, it prepares you for the next level :p At higher level you'll face bosses that are extremely large and could possibly one hit kill you so it'll be a challenge :)

Hey everyone, after I finishing watching the office I'll get on.

My ID is Tamirat and my ID number is: 3P24AV

I still need to rank up to 17 to do the event quests, though. >_< Anyone know a good HR grinding 2* quest?
Ran through that Event quest two times and only got 1 plan. :/
I got extremely lucky then, got 4 in one go.
Gobul defeated with under 5 minutes remaining, yay. Curious to see how often I can paralyze people with my new sword.
Congrats! :bouncy:

I would like to play some 1 star or 2 star quests with some friends online.

Would anyone be interested in joining me? Thank you!

I wanna do the HR18+ quest some more, did that Fish Gobul event quest. It had 4 charms, which I didn't find useful, but meh.
No idea what you just said. haha!
He means that he did the new event quest that requires a HR of 18. He only got some charms which he didn't find useful.

Won't be able to join, but I am going to tell you it is probably the toughest quest you'll do so far. Diablos and Uragaan both at one. Incredibly hard.

Man that event quest is hell lol. Doesn't help the same guy always ends up dying three times. I just need to run it for four more pieces and I have enough for the lance and it's upgrade. After those runs (should take two with mask) I'll be hr 30 and have my urgent open. Should be exciting.

You beat me in HR Nirran, lol. I'm around HR27 soon to be HR28. :p

I'll play in a little while I guess, been really busy and will be busy until Wednesday. Cleaning the whole house....
Anyone want to get together and do some two star missions? Like fighting Rathians and Gobul. Must be HR9 or higher.
I woul---

Oh...

:(
I woul---

:(
Well if you can get online now I can help you with some one star quests. Don't know if you're up for it but I still need to catch a Royal Ludroth.
Can you give me a half hour?
And I'd love to help you.
I've yet to play online yet! D:
Sure! :bouncy: And don't worry, you'll level up pretty quickly.
