Monster Hunter Tri

I actually need Lagi Horns myself so I can unlock the ability to make a Lagi Helm and Lagi Waist. I'm still HR30, and I still need to do my Urgent Quest, but I did the offline Rathalos quest. I can't wait to get to the 4-star online quests. CANNOT WAIT!

Wanna farm some tomorrow?

Festival of Fear, but this is the full quest. The second part is definitely different. It's still the same 30 minute time limit, though. The first time I tried it with a friend, the clock read: "30:00" when we beat it.

I need to start farming that event quest for that Lance, BLARGH!!!

We're getting the Hellhunter Jacket this weekend though, sweet!

I know this is a wierd time, but will anyone be online at 12 noon EST? I'll try to stay on for a few hours and see if I can get to HR 30 (I'm only 20 though. >_
does anyone know how you upgrade the ships in offline mode?
When the captain trader comes to town, you can trade one of your super rares for a ship upgrade.

Get the rare commodities by looking at Moga Forecast, say Rathian is in Moga Forest today and if it says Abundant Commodities don't pass up the chance to hunt him :)

This will help you as well, go to
http://monsterhunter.wikia.com/wiki/MH3:_Trading_Guide
Where you see "Rare Commodity Items" it shows you the trade value, and what to hunt to get it. Also note that if you have 2x of a 1* item, you cannot trade them together as a 2* trade, you actually need an item that has the value of 2* to trade for a 2* item from that samurai trader.

To progress in levels (either on- or off-line), you need to meet a few criteria. One, you need to be a high enough HR level (online only). Two, you need to clear the 'key quests'. Key quests are not labeled in any way in game (the wiki has a nice listing of them). Once you have cleared the key quests, an Urgent quest will come in. You must clear the Urgent quest to proceed to the next level.

Been doing the High HR hunts and I gotta say its pretty challenging, be ready to craft lots of shock/pitfall traps and hold tranq/sonic/flash bombs, get more reward items when completing the hunt by capturing. The monsters will do 2-4x more damage than the regular ones so be ready to dodge/block attacks :) I definitely need to make one of those new high rank armors to do 5* quests. Some of the armors are kinda weird, some low grade has more slots so it seems like its better to upgrade that to high grade instead of crafting a high grade part. I wish there was a chart that shows slots and +attributes to compare a lot easily.

HR31! I also discovered that you can just upgrade your regular armor to +armor. So, there's no need to rebuy them, which is awesome. So I'll try to upgrade my Rathalos Armor from a mere 30 DEF each to 62 DEF each. But it'll take a while to get there.

You should note that some of the pieces of lower grade has more slots, and it'll retain it when upgraded, but there are also some pieces where the armor+ has more slots crafted new as well, so keep that in mind. Mixing and matching different sets of armor with decos and jewel is really important, I remember seeing some guy's set with HG Earplugs, Crit Draw, Sharpness +1, etc. which is pretty much what I am going after, I think it was diablos with jhen or ceadeus. HR 33 now :D

High HR brings this game to a whole new level just FYI, I have not killed a single monster just yet except Great Jaggi, been capturing them all haha :) Lots of charms, advanced armor spheres, monster bone L+, etc.
Where do I find/receive green Armor Spheres?
I think 3* quests you'll get as reward and also mine them in the arctic?

well I dropped my game in today. 2 hours later I realize I am literally not even getting started...oh the fun this will be. Seems alright though.

Volcano basically has a 'give a Sphere, take a Sphere' mentality to it. They give you so many Armor Sphere and Armor Sphere +'s it's not even funny. Before I had about 5 or 6 of each, afterwards I have about 60 AS's and 40 AS+'s. ADV Armor Spheres are really rare, though. If I could get to HR40, I could probably get better drops for them in 5-star online quests.

I did the 1 Great Jaggi 4-star quest by myself. I didn't die on it, but I died on the 2-Jaggi quest. Enemies take 4-6 hits again at this level instead of 1-2. Great Jaggi hits like he did when you started the game out. It's really like NG+.

I also managed to finish up my 4-star offline quest list, so that was nice. I also did my remaining Villager request. I'm sure I have more coming to me in the future. As soon as I hunt Barioth and Diablos offline. That'll take a while.

EDIT: Nice job on adding the HR column to the CAG list, whoever you are.

I've mined a lot of Adv Armor Spheres in the volcano when I was farming offline for rust weapons and firestones. You'll get a bunch though just doing quests for HR31~ as quest rewards. Diablos is annoying as hell, but to do it easily just grab Tusk Lance, with sonic bombs and stab his face. You can sonic bomb him as his tail disappears and he's submerged, then just stab him while he's down, and get out flash bomb when he goes up into the air and throw it in front of him to stun him and he'll fall onto the ground for another good 5 seconds. Never had Barioth trouble, but online he's quite the annoyance. Randomly hopping around teammates -__-

EDIT: I'd like to add that when you reach High HR quests, your spawn point could possible be beside rare mining node + good bug node, I've been spawned on top of an area in moga woods also the top of the cave in desert a couple of times now, you can mine special gems to craft deco, the high end armor sphere, good ores, rustshards, and the bug node you can yield hermacude(sp?) and thunderbugs:)D!)

Fun games Broly and Phil. I'm really glad I switched my gear back to the lance before the Barroth quest. Did that health hunting horn work? I don't know how far the proximity is but I saw you all glow green a couple times. I would have used it more but I was afraid of getting ran over

That they were. I got some new armor now!
Is Baroth that difficult in single-player?

Noob question though: how do you change weapons/armor that you already own? lol

Go to your house and equip at the treasure chest. Single player is easier but online it isn't too hard as long as you block or dodge out of the way enough after learning Barroth's moves.

I found Barroth quite hard when I first did him with GS/Rhenoplos gear, if you had a hammer you'd knock him silly though.
anyone wanna do some quests? i'm down for whatever lets get a CAG party going.
What starred quests?

does anyone else get drunk while they play online or is it just me.. I usually am playing at this time and get totally wasted. I think it adds to the experience.

Still can't get Lagi Horns for the life of me. I think I'll just go onto Advanced Servers tomorrow and farm with others.
