Cancelled my price mistake pre-order from Amazon. Midway can take their T rating and shove it. I'll get a UK version down the road.

Buy.com has the regular editions of MK vs DC (360 & PS3) at $53.99 and limited edition at $59.99 with free budget shipping. Not the best deal so far but it is worth it just to save on the state tax for me.
Due to the shooting in the head.

He could have unprotected sex with her skull and they would still get a "T", but heaven forbid they show gun violence and a bit of plasma! Think about the children!
That's kind of the opposite of the truth. He can still shoot her, as long as the blood is offscreen. If there were a hint of sex, though, we'd be in M territory. If it were more than a hint, AO.

For all of you people condemning Midway to hell, don't. It was DC's decision to go with the T rating and it was the only way they'd allow Midway to make a game using their characters.

I'm condemning Midway for not adamantly fighting for the right to make it rated M. Midway promised us no Mortal Kombat Lite numerous times and that's exactly what we got. I wouldn't mind NEARLY as much if the UK didn't get an uncensored version.

It's not really MK-Lite, it's no different than the censored Sub-Zero spine rip from the original MK. It's not Midway's fault at all, blame DC and the ERSB.

You're right. It's no different. That's why the Genesis version > SNES version.
blah only for mk1
Oh, I agree completely. But we are talking about MK1.
I heard they also censored one of Deathstroke's Fatalities, but I don't know details.

I think I'm just going to give this one a rental...
And Kitana's fatality.

The UK's rating system for teens starts at 16, not 13 - that is the only reason they get the game unchanged. DC Comics doesn't want a Mature rated game associated with its license. Also Midway is ONE game away from probably going out of business, they don't really have the leverage to tell DC Comics to take its characters and shove them up their ass. Midway needs this game to be a huge hit or the company could be no more.

For better or worse, we are getting a Teen rated MK game. If it does well financially it could enable them to make another M rated game sometime in the future.

Pretty much. And it's not like Midway didn't try and make it as bloody and shocking as they could, I mean they had every intention of putting those Fatalities and stuff in but they were shot down by the ESRB. It's not like Midway didn't try to push the T rating to it's limits, they did but were told to change it by the ESRB. Not Midway's fault at all.

Chances are the code is still in the game. I don't see them chaning all of it for the US and keep it in the UK version. I'm betting the UK version will have an option that will let you set it up so you can see it or not. Basicly make it the US version to keep the younger people from seeing it. The US version will just have that code blocked. Hell they wouldn't even have to delete it just remark it out. So chances are if someone wanted to make a hack for it they could to get this back. Or if they wanted to make an update because enough of the US fans bitched about it they could make one with in days.
this one should drop as quick as tna impact did
Not a chance. This will sell, Mortal Kombat and DC license alone. It's also going to be a pretty good game.

Agreed

This game wouldve been perfect...if it werent for the damn T Rating..

That alone..((T Rating)) , really put a damper in my excitement for the game. I really liked the blood and ripping peoples body parts of and very good fatalitys that envolve

Thats one of the things MK always had and other fighting games didnt! That bloody, brutal, hellish, gore, ultimate cage fighting super awsome bloody bone breaking..you know..And now you gave it the T Rating! SHAME ON YOU!

Damnit!

I'm actually really excited for this game. Despite the T rating, I'm very interested in "vs" games in general. So I think I'mma pick this one up. Plus the story looks somewhat interesting (most interesting out of all the fighting games), it makes the single player experience a bit more satisfying which is what I'll be playing a whole lot. The trophies/achievements looked achievable too (from a not-too-hardcore gamer perspective).

Having a back thought that I'd be helping a company in need justifys the couple extra dollars I'll be willing to pay. I just hope the average reviews stay over 80% and I'm likely to purchase it on day 1 (if not, maybe I'll wait for a deal).

This is a thread discussing the deals for the game, not about the T rating, take it to the respective threads guys :(

I asked a question that got overshadowed because its all talk about the damn rating.

Just because it's a T rated game, doesn't mean there isn't going to be any of that stuff.

Yes I know, however these slip out.

For example NCS shipped out theirs yesterday and folks who ordered today could get it tomorrow.

Sooo its just a matter of the walmart, target or whoever who puts them out today or tomorrow.

Wow if the info is correct from early reports, the collectors edition is a giant waste of money for the ps3.. just a white sleeve with the bonus cd, tiny comicbook, and a paper sleeve that goes over the case.

Thats worse than Battlefield Bad Company Gold Edition... lmao :(

I've only seen pictures of the PS3 version so far, but if reports are accurate the 360 version sounds even worse. I don't know how it would work exactly but someone that got the 360 version is saying it doesn't even come with a normal game case, both the game and the bonus disc are supposed to be in paper sleeves.

If you pre-ordered the LE from GameStop (360 version), would you get the lithograph and the shirt as well? The shirt is pretty blah and likely to be too big for me, but free is free!

heh this game is the christmas present from the gf...I ain't really caring for the MK cast of characters...surprisingly.... I really wanna play as the DC cast. Mainly Green Lantern, Batman and Deathstroke. I also heard of downloadable costumes......so Red Son Superman here I come!

A lot of people seem really 'meh' on this game, which is really disheartening seeing how this game is Midway's last hope of staying afloat. :(

Theres much hate for MK.. that's ok.

THis one seems to have gone back to its roots gameplay wise so I'm happy.

Exactly, and I hope seeing as a lot of MK fans are pissed that the Comic Book fans come out and try to lift this up a bit.

I think the reviews are going to be overly harsh on this one just because it's a long running franchise. The IGN review score is about what I expected for a fighting game.
