For weeks, I have seen this annoying fucking ad everywhere (or a variant of it) and sent polite (yet irritated) E-mails to get it removed from websites' ad cycles. ESPN, CAG and many other sites have this annoying fucking ad pop in their cycles. The ad continously beeps to infinity, unless, I refresh the page again to get a new ad. It's totally obnoxious. I find it about 1000000000 times more annoying than the "Congratulations! You've won a free IPOD Nano!" Really??? Go fuck yourself.

There are two other annoying types of ads. One is the scroll down ad, which covers page content. Most of them are broken, so they won't go way, even after, I click on them. Usually, I find this problem on ESPN. The webpage's content is completely unreadable. Some automatically scroll over content. Others rely on a mouse over, which is 100% of the time by accident.

The last type is less obnoxious and annoying than the previous two. I hate mini-pops in the middle of the page, but a specific variant seems to be gaining popularity. The "Click to Close, but get another pop-up on a separate page" ad. These are old school, but seem to be coming back in style.

I refuse to purchase products if their ads are too obnoxious. I'm not sure if companies will take a hint or not, but I feel many companies have taken pages from porn and warez ad strategies to market to potential customers. I'm not against advertising, but society needs limits and boundaries. Annoying ads only irritate and annoy the customer base, instead of, attracting them to potentially attractive products or services.

I created this topic from frustration with some particular ads (no matter what browser I seem to use). If anybody has any other obnoxious ads, then please post!
I agree, aids are annoying as hell.
AIDS is definitely annoying too :)

Edit: As soon as I made this post, the annoying beeping ad came up in CAG's ad cycle. Yay!

Never seen that one before.

Also, I never minded ads that much. But digg forced me to use AdBlock Plus. Bravo Rose. Bravo.

I hate the ones that talk, or use any audio at all. There was this one, that had like a smiley face on it (AIM emoticon type) and everytime you rolled your mouse near it it went like "HELLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" in the most ASS ANNOYING voice ever. And it was really loud.

I don't really see any ads as I use Firefox + Ad Block Plus /obligatory post

But when I'm using a different browser any ad with blinking rainbow colors annoys the hell out of me.

That scared me so much when I first heard that

Somehow advertisers are starting to get around AdBlock, FlashBlock, and Firefox. I'm starting to get Flash ads that I can't do anything to because they have a layer on top of them that tricks blockers into thinking there's nothing there in the first place. And it looks like only the crappiest ads are doing it; LOUD as hell, the frame vibrates or flashes fast enough to make my head hurt, inappropriate and attention whoring shit so people are drawn to look over my shoulder.

Same as what everyone said I hate the damn ads that either yell out

"Hello!" or "You won a free iPod Nano" and its always when you listen to your music really loud or when everyone in your house is sleeping. Scares the shit out of me.

Ugh. That was awful. That thing is sooooo scary...
She married him?

AND THEY HAD 7 KIDS?!?
I remember it used to say 3 kids, then 5. I just noticed the other day that they were up to 7.

Oh yeah...count me in on the "helllooooo-ooooo" once scaring the hell out of me.

I'm not fond of the "commercial" style ads found at IGN and, now, Joystiq. Those irritate me a lot. Primarily because it avoids triggering AdBlock. CAG is one of the few websites where I allow myself to view ads, as some of the ads feature interesting deals.
