So, who has tried the new soda?

Is it available in stores only? (No fast food tie in?)

Just curious (tried doing a search, but it failed...FATAL ERROR)
 
At my local supermarket they have 12pack cans, 2 liter bottles, and 20 oz bottles.

I rather like it, but it is quite sweet. Then again, all Mountain Dew is a bit sweet. It reminds me of Baja Blast mixed with a little bit of equal parts Live Wire and Code Red.
 
Whoever keeps adding flavors to Mountain Dew needs to stop.

Anyway, the Halo flavored one is fairly awful. Though, personally, I find that most of the Dew variations are.
 
I've drank a shit-ton of this stuff in the past week. If you've ever had a virgin Shirley Temple, it tastes just like that.

My old man's opening up a convenience store, so I get a free and endless supply. Joy.
 
I like regular Mountain Dew and Code Red, but Code Red is just on the verge of too sweet. If Game Fuel is even sweeter, I don't think I could deal with it.

It does have more caffeine per bottle than a Red Bull.
 
Actually, I don't particularly like Mountain Dew either.

I like it better now than I did a couple years ago, but still: I'm more of a Coke guy.

Tastes like what you'd get if you mixed Code Red with Livewire.

Can't say I know too many gamers who drink a shitload of caffeine before they play-- that's just asking for a migraine. maybe a coke or some coffee, nothing out of the ordinary.
 
It's not that bad, but I'd prefer regular Mountain Dew to it...

Then again, I'd prefer the Game Fuel to a Red Bull... Oh, and it didn't give any kick of caffeiene when I drank a whole 20 oz bottle.

The way I brew my coffee has more caffeine than redbull....
 
yea i pretty much hated it the first time i tried it

but now i'm hooked

that 48mg of caffeine has got it's cherry flavored lasso wrapped around my kidneys
 
I drank it with Captain Morgan to different times, the 2nd time kicked ass, watching the KillSwitch Engage dvd, Machine Head Dvd, then made out with a chick. Great times.
 
I thought the Game Fuel was OK. First sip wasn't bad. By the end of the bottle, I ddidn't want anymore. It's too sweet. Plus, it didn't go well with the 3 McChickens I was eating at the time.

Best Dew ever is Dew with Lime. And NOT that Baja Blast bullshit. Use a real lime, 1/2 a lime for 1 can.

Red Bull is nasty.

true. and I have no idea what I was thinking in that previous post because I drink redbull several times a week as well. I guess I am a caffeinated gamer :lol: just checked this (I don't even know what half these drinks are):

brewed coffee has 100-something according to that list, but another one I checked said 80-115mg (guess depending on the roast/type.)


my coffee will kill me, but probably because I use heavy whipping cream instead of half and half :lol:

no way. I like sour stuff a lot though :) Rockstar on the other hand, is fucking awful. It's like cream soda with dove soap in it :puke:
 
I had this stuff a couple weeks ago. WAY too sweet. I couldn't taste anything for an hour after.

I miss the original mountain dew grape that was around a couple years ago (not that sour "2" shit).

But Dove is the best tasting soap ever!

On topic of energy drinks though, I drink Sobe No Fear myself. Tasty stuff.
 
bought a bottle, this crap tastes like carbonated cough syrup-- more so than code red.

Its pure shit. I'm almost done with a 12 pack as a grocery store had a "buy 4 12packs of Mt Dew, get a 12pack of Game Fuel free" deal. Over time it tastes nearly like cherry flavored cough syrup. What they need to do is make LiveWire in more than just 20oz bottles. They probably do, just not here...
 
It's not horrible, I've had worse. The one thing I notice is that it has this dayquil aftertaste. Sometimes it's heavier than others, but definately orange dayquil with less bite.
 
Way too sweet. I would have liked it if it tasted like bananas. Drink regular dew while eating a banana. Now thats a flavor medley!
 
bought a bottle today...it tastes pretty good.
but, all that sugar/caffeine didn't agree with my stomach though..
 
So do you have to buy like a 6 or 12 pack, or can you just get one of these individually. I want to try it, but not badly enough that I'd invest in a bunch of it.
 
maybe this comes from drinking way too many energy drinks that are considered bad for my health, but I find the gamefuel to be pretty good. I've drank a six pack of bottles so far and I'll probably pick up more today.

I've randomly seen the 20oz bottles at various gas stations and local movie stores around here.

I know for a while grocery stores were carrying 2 liter bottles of Livewire and 7-11 had Livewire Slurpees.
 
Picked up a 20oz at QT this evening to give it a try. I don't like sugar sodas, I don't like mountain dew even sugar-free. Picked it up to support my friendly neighborhood Master Chief.

I thought it tasted like liquid gummy bears, not horrible, but nothing that I would drink on a regular basis.

I've only seen the 20oz bottles at 7-11 and other gas stations. I remember the Livewire slurpee. I was working at 7-11 when it first came out and it was crap. They must have reformulated it, as when it came back out the next year I think, it was a hella better...
 
Been drinking it a bit here and there, drank 2 20 oz. bottles and a 2 Liter since it's release. I really like it, although the fact that it's Halo doesn't hurt.

In terms of Dew, I still prefer Baja Blast.
 
Went to 711 looking to try this "game fuel" but wasn't able to find it. Maybe sometime this weekend I'll try walmart or something.

I too have been telling people it tastes like gummi bears/worms.

It was good, but I only had one can. It's so bad for you, that I don't want to drink it very often.
 
I think it's good as a change of pace soda, and it reminds me somewhat of the "Mango Madness" Snapple flavor (discontinued?). But drink too much at once and it's like insulin shock. Blee-ahh!

I drink a 16oz full throttle energy drink before I play. I think it has162ml or along those lines of caffeine. It even has a warning below it starting it is not recommending for pregnant women, or those sensitive to caffeine. I usually drink one while I am gaming, I don't get headaches from caffeine. It helps keep me awake and more alert while I game.
