Tomorrow at 4:00am EST, Ms. Pac-man will be released for 400 MS points. Ms. Pac-Man is the better of the two Pac-Mans, with different coloured levels and changing mazes.

The achievements have also been revealed here, with the majority of them being the exact same achievements as the already released Pac-Man.

Although I already have the XBLA Pac-Man, I may look into downloading this one as well. I’m a sucker for these kind of classics.

Hmm. The fact that it's the same game as pacman, and has the SAME achievements...it's kind of hard to want this game because.. well, it's Pacman. If you bought Pacman for XBL..then..it's the same game with a ribbon, LOL

The sad thing is..I have like 610 points sitting in my account. I've always liked Ms Pacman over Pacman for whatever reason. Ugh, I have a feeling I'm gonna be short 400 points tomorrow.. :(

Though, for 400 points it should be a Pacman/Ms Pacman collection.. but that's just me.

Your thoughts?

The version on Pacman they released seemed glitchy to me, and I swear the difficulty was cranked up. I'll download the demo and try this, but I'm sorta sick of the dull XBLA releases. I WANT CASTLEVANIA: SOTN!!!!!

This man is thrilled by the news:

"Clear round 21" is the only difficult achievement. I can probably get all the others in my first game. I can easily get to Round 11 or 12 but making it another 10 levels after that is really unlikely unless I start memorizing patterns. Too bad I'll never know because unless I have a drunk moment of weakness over the weekend I won't be getting it.

Ms. Pac-man is slightly more than just Pac-man with a ribbon. Its faster than the original and the ghosts' movement was more varied. Different maps. Fruit movement is different as well.

That being said, I'm disappointed.

However, I figured it would be Small Arms content.

not happy about it, i always liked pac man better. But it is tough to complain about a retro game, considering all the new content they have given us over the past few weeks.

i was able to do that one, I wasn't able to get the eat all 4 ghost 4 times one

I will probably get it, only because I love Ms Pac-Man (and I bought Pac-Man thinking they would never bring out Ms Pac-Man).

Why did I think that? Didn't Capcom or Midway or someone say that Microsoft only wanted the DEFINITIVE version of each game, and that's why they went for UMK 3 over MK 2, and Capcom went for the version of SF 2 instead of the last one with Cammy and all them.

What happened to that? Ms Pac-Man is easily the definitive and better version of the two games... I guess it dosen't matter anymore.

If they can release Ms Pac-Man I want Mortal Kombat 2.

Canessa stated he didn't want MK2 because there were many different renditions readily available on compilation discs. I believe its from the EGM interview. I'll see if I still have that issue.

And, wait, Ms Pac-Man doesn't have many different renditions on compilation discs?

MK 2 was on ONE compliation disc, Midway Arcade Treasures 2.

Canessa sucks.

Funny... I was looking at the list of upcoming games over at gamespot.com and they had Ms PacMan for Q1 and I was thinking, I bet we'll probobly get that tonight...low and behold.

Will download just in case it has gamerpics but thats it.

Meh, not for me. I like Pac-Man and all, but I'd rather spend the points on an HD TV show--and I'm not even all that interested in doing that right now, either.

Doesn't completing Round 21 mean you have to clear 21 boards? That's really tough - after the Jr. intermission there is an easy round (#10) but it gets much harder after that and since you can't earn any extra lives after 10,000... Getting a perfect score on the first level (14,600) is far far easier, IMO.

I got to agree with that, plus none of the versions of MK2 have online play.

They need to release Double Dragon or Fatal Fury soon because I have 5400 points and have not had the urge to use them since I added them to my account.

I believe you can continue when you die...I didn't lose all my lifes untill level 14 or so, but I was able to continue playing where I had left off.

you can also start any game at the last cleared level and still get the achievement. So if you've cleared all the way up to level 18, you can start a new game at level 18.

You can continue?!?!? Did your score reset at least? (I hope so). Also, how is the d-pad? It was almost unplayable for me for Pac-man... 8-way stick for a 4-way game. :shame:
This better be confirmation that next week will bring us Worms HD.

If not :whistle2:#
Its actually just Worms now. The game title officially dropped the "HD". It will still be in HD though.

I'll buy it for the same reason I bought Galaga - it's one of the better retro games available on XBLA. Plus, my wife would play it. I held off the original Pac-Man for this, so no biggie.

I'd rather seen some original content, as the retro games shouldn't be part of the XBLA Wednesdays, but oh well. I'll take it.

Wheres Worms?
Mad Tracks?
Reversi?
Chess?
Checkers?
Double Dragon?
But no, we get the same game with alittle pink bow on it.

I'm looking forward to downloading the demo tomorrow... strictly for Namco always throwing in a free gamerpic. 90% sure it'll be a pic of Ms. Pacman

Yeah. I didn't understand that statement when he made it (Along with his "We don't want the arcade to be a place for companies to drop their old PS1 titles" but one of the biggest releases is just that).

I think Microsoft gives Namco a little carte blanche with regards to arcade titles. I mean, everyone else seems to go out of their way (Though that could be Digital Eclipse) to make updates to their titles yet Namco gets away giving less than the original releases. Maybe Microsoft feels that if they bend over to please Namco, that they'll be able to pick up some of Namco's IPs away from competitors.

score did reset...

Is this the same MS Pacman port that the came with the Xbox Arcade demo disks that came out for the Original Xbox Arcade.
If it comes with a Ms Pacman gamerpic.. then I'm def in!
all namco XBLA games come with a free gamerpic. You don't even have to purchase the game, just make sure you download the demo and play once.

Ms. Pac-Man, huh? And Pac-Man is already available?

Wow. This wins the "let's do something even fucking lamer than releasing Urban Champion and Baseball" award.

I haven't followed XBLA for months now (ever since UMK3), and this provides me with a damned good reason why.

Now there isn't a game?

Even though it's Ms Pacman, Ms Pacman is better then getting NOTHING new this week, IMO

Well we'll see what happens. Hopefully Worms is 800 points at most.. :(

Based on my snooping around, Ms. Pac-man was the intended title for tomorrow.

However, it was scrapped at the last minute.

Maybe too many Namco releases too close together. Maybe there was a major problem with it like DigDug. Either way, Ms. Pac-man is looking alot better than Canessa's classic "No game this week, but we rarely miss"

Wow, more namco bullshit. They could at least release Mappy or Super Pac-Man...

Edit: Well, that said, even Ms. Pac-Man is better than nothing. Now they'll just use it to take up a week later on. Joy...

Your loss. Assault Heroes is a great game. Just because they've been releasing a lot of crap, it doesn't mean that there is not good stuff there too.
