My friend was caught shoplifting...
BTW This thread can be closed
He was sentanced to 50hrs of community service and a $347.43 fine. And to all of you who helped I really appreciate it. It means a lot that you guys can help someone you don't even know feel better. Thanks again guys.
Did he have to pay the store anything? You know - for the time and trouble of catching this criminal?
Someone has fucking and assholes on the mind. I think it's time to find a new asshole to fuck because your old fuck buddy is going to be used meat.

And I am being helpful. First you need to find someone else to fuck, and second you really need some new friends because it's obvious you have bad taste. So he's a dumbass and should go to jail so why are you friends with him? Does he really have that nice of an ass or are you a fat piece of shit that can't get any from someone better?
This is usually what you hear from closeted homosexuals who are to afraid to come out because they would be embarrased.
2) I know I should have spoke up, but he seemed so sure and I mean with the construction going on it seemed easy. I'm hating myself every minute because I just wish I could have REALLY stood up to him and none of this would be happening.
Am I the only one that read that as the OP thinks it's okay to steal as long as you don't get caught? So if it's easy to steal something, you should take it?

That's the new motto in America - win at all costs.

Big business takes it to heart - Walmart and other discount chains hire mass amounts of illegal immigrants. Indirectly, Walmart and other discount stores hire slave and child labor in China.

The only way you can keep people or corporations honest is by just legislation and active enforcement.

The only difference between an individual and the corporation is that the individual doesn't have the power to bribe the executive branch to look the other way.
EDIT: Snatch, did you see a news piece a few weeks back about WM starting a policy of not prosecuting for thefts below $25?
You've got to be shitting me!

Nealocus123, if someone is bothering you here all you have to do is put them on your ignore list. It's in the User CP.

You can also just click on a persons name, go to view profile, then click on "add to ignore list".
So did you have to pay for the sex? Is that how he paid the fine?

And no I don't know anyone who stole loads of video games. I don't know anyone that stole anything after the age of ten. Cousins and a friend or two stole a piece of gum or candy when they were like 5, that's it.

Have fun fucking your friend tonight, I'm sure it's well worth the wait.
I want to make you a shirt that says, "Friendless Virgin"

Granted, I never had a friend that I cared as much about as the OP does for his, but your posts were entirely inappropriate.

To the OP, I hope that your friend learned his lesson.

You know your right, I did probably think it woulda been okay this one time so I laid back. But it only took once for the hammer to fall down and teach us a lesson. I was freaked out by my friend getting caught, and I can only imagine how scared I would feel.

That's a brilliant philosophy. Do whatever you want til you get caught. Say I murdered one of your friends/family. Is that okay? As long as I don't get caught I could steal, murder, sell drugs, whatever until someone catches me, right?
All of you should go to jail, since it seems like you would've stole even if your friend hadn't because Hey! It should be easy! Who cares if there's just a stupid law against it? I can do whatever the hell I want! There are very few legitimate reasons to steal and you show none of them. If your friend is so rich he could have easily bought the games, avoided breaking a law, avoided causing trouble to the police, avoided troubling security, avoided employees getting in trouble because of stolen goods. All of you are assholes.

Well I've had an experience with a friend of mine getting caught. He got caught stealing four games from Shopko, had some pot in his pocket, and tried to flee from the people in Shopko who catch you. Anyways to make a long story short he got a lawyer got the possesion charge dropped, and had to pay a ten dollar fine for the shoplifting. Apparently his lawyer was good or he was very lucky. For a first offense there is NO WAY IN HELL he's going to jail. Jails are filled up with criminals not shoplifters.

Report: Wal-Mart loosens shoplifting policy
No. 1 retailer will only press charges if shoplifters take at least $25, in change to zero-tolerance policy.
July 13 2006: 7:22 AM EDT

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Wal-Mart is moving away from what it called a zero-tolerance policy on prosecuting shoplifters and will now only prosecute anyone caught taking merchandise worth $25 or more, according to a published report.

TheNew York Times reports the change in policy, citing internal documents from Wal-Mart that say it will now only press charges against those between the ages of 18 and 64 who take at least $25 worth of goods. Formerly its policy was to press charges against anyone who took at least $3 in goods.

The paper said the change in policy will allow Wal-Mart to concentrate on theft by professional shoplifters and its own employees. The paper said those two groups steal the bulk of merchandise from the chain.

"If I have somebody being paid $12 an hour processing a $5 theft, I have just lost money," J. P. Suarez, who is in charge of asset protection at Wal-Mart, told the paper. "I have also lost the time to catch somebody stealing $100 or an organized group stealing $3,000."

Wal-Mart told the paper it would closely track shoplifters it did not have arrested, and would ask that they be prosecuted after a second incident. It will also seek the prosecution of all suspected shoplifters who threaten violence or fail to produce identification, no matter how much they are trying to steal, according to the report, which said professional shoplifters often do not carry ID in order to avoid arrest.

The change will also put the company's policy in line with most of its major competitors.

The paper said that the change also will answer complaints of small-town police departments across the country who have protested the previous zero-tolerance policy. At some stores police were making up to six arrests a day, according to the report, which said some departments had to hire extra officers just to handle the Wal-Mart arrests.

The paper said it was given the documents detailing the new policy by WakeUpWalMart.com, an anti-Wal-Mart group that told the paper it received the documents from a former employee at the chain who is unhappy with the new policy.
