My Recipt Scan For RE4 15.00

I knew this deal with be a major YMMV, but I'm glad to hear that someone actually got it to work for them. Still, I'm sure eventually (a year or two from now) we'll all be able to get RE4 for $15 new or used somewhere. It's all a question of whether or not you have to play it today. With the number of cheap games I've picked up in the past year, I'm set for a long time without RE4, so I can afford to wait for a better price.

My local BB put up a sign regarding the mistake in the ad the week they put RE4 in the 2 for $30 section. It said it was a mistake, it wouldnt be out till Jan, and the price is $49.99. It also had those preorder cards next to it. Seems like my BB was the only one to do this.

Damn, nice job OP. You deserve it. But yeah, if anyone else gets in on this deal & gets some extra copies, I'd pay them $32.

I just got back from BB, with my non-expired raincheck printout in hand. Previously, they had voided my raincheck.

The manager, Louis, seems like a dick at first, but with the purchase of Second Sight, I got my RE4 for $15.

On the big yellow receipt, they wrote, "Incorrectly priced in Ad, Customer Satisfaction 1 time only"

I guess Best Buy will never satisfy me again as a business ;)

I'll put on scan up on Tuesday if anyone cares.

Sorry SmAlien, I couldn't get two. I was lucky to get one.

I got all of you beat. I pricematched my scan of the add at CC and the guy matched for 110% making it $11.50 per game or $23 for the two copies I got. This is deffinitely the best deal I've gotten in my life:)

And as far as buying them out is concerned they put a limit of 2 per customer on me, which was pretty understandable as there were only 2 copies left for the whole store after I bought my two. On one hand this was dissapointing, but on the other hand it made me more grateful that I got them as if I had been just a little bit later they would have been out of RE4 altogether and I never would have gotten this miraculous deal.

Walmart has always been a bitch to me about pricematching. I had one guy tell me that they don't price match items that are close out or on sale. The problem is that most items that you would price match in ads ARE ON SALE ... jackass.
 
There is no way I cannot try this. I'm hitting up CC tomorrow, for sure. It's only 3 or 4 miles down the road, so the risk is minimal. I assume most if not all CC's price match?
 
I just called circuit city and asked if they took photocopies of ads to pricematch, He said they'll take anything if they have the product in stock....

I go up to the customer service desk to have them pricematch, and to my joy I see this guy I graduated with last year, who is definitely not all that bright and doesn't really think on his own. So I go up to him and ask for the pricematch, and he's like "Yeah, sure, I'll match any game on that page." I hand him RE4, and as I do this, another fellow from my class swoops in and takes the ad. He then proceeds to find BB's actual Sunday ad for this week and shatters my plan.

It wouldn't have been so bad if I had been outright denied, but he was ringing it up! Argh. ](*,)

At least RE games tend to drop in price reasonably quick.

I got close (Regional Sales Manager said yes then made me wait 20 minutes for a no) and got shot down too . . . I'll have to write more later because it really ticked me off. I USED to be a fan of BB (spent over $4000 there in the last 4 years)

Do you think they'll ask them if the game is on sale, or do you think they'll just ask if they have it in stock?

I'm wondering if it's worth making the trip or not.

Maybe just in stock, maybe both. CC is pretty easy going about PMs. It would be worth the trip to save $35 on a awesome game.
 
I think they will ask if it is on sale. From my experience, all stores that PM will try to find any reason at all not to give you a hot title for a large percentage off.

I think this deal should be in the Deals forum, only because it still works, and I dont come as often to this forum as i do to the others.

I just got in on it today, at a Long Island CC, with the BB scan. Sorta long story, but I really have to give credit to the guy I talked to before bringing it to customer service. We had a talk about how good the game is compared to the others, and I showed him the ad. He said "woah, this is a misprint" (as it turns out, he actually saw the ad for BB when it came out in December). He told me to go to the service desk and see if they would take it. Word to the wise - don't assume that the girl who is clueless about video games doesn't know about how new RE4 was. She had 3 other people look at it, on top of that, called for a supervisor. After 5 minutes, the supervisor didnt come, so she went through with it. Total price for RE4 and Mario Golf - 28.28. I talked to the guy afterwards and gave him the ad. I figure I should give back and maybe he'll use it (he asked for it). I should really bake those guys a cake or something.

Great deal, even better than the Seinfeld DVD pricematch. Thanks to the OP for bringing this deal back. I saw the ad initially and laughed, never thought I would be able to use it. I would have picked up a couple of copies and maybe sell one off here, but I thought it was enough of a gift that I got one.
 
Target- doesnt price match anymore.
Two Walmarts - both looked at the current add and said it wasnt there, when I persisted they called BB and said no go. I actually ran into another guy looking for the same thing. I asked him how he heard about it and he said his son sent him.... So I think I just met a CAGs dad. Eagan, MN - tall, dark and fairly good looking with some sort of accent.
CC1- My heart aches... I got two copies, the girl opened them, she rang them up... and then asked her manager to verify... he said no because it said greatest hits version and they didnt carry it. So then I said it doesnt have a GH... and SKUs are the same anyways.... then they called BB and burst my bubble.
CC2- didnt even carry GC games!
CompUSA- Didnt even have it
TRU- didnt have a current date so they rejected it.

Also... Chargeup is right... I saw this little indian girl working the electronics counter and I figured she was an easy mark... She knew it was brand new, shouldnt be that price, and then got her manager and called BB... I also tried it on an old lady... she didnt go for it either.

Why am I bombarded by stupid people 24-7 until I need one to take advantage of? Then they all get their heads out of their asses and pay attention... One of the managers even caught that it was the holiday issue because of the gift in the corner... not even I saw that.
 
I second that this should be in the "post your own cheapass deals" forum as it seems like a decent amount of people are getting this to work and it's currently going on right now. Can a mod please move it?

I noticed this too. It said something about picking up holiday gifts, and I figured someone would spot this and I'd be screwed. On top of that, there's fine print that reads "Regular price 19.99", so I thought I wouldnt be able to pick up Mario Golf (which used to be a 29.99 game), but luckily the price was lowered in my CC. AND the copyright date is 2004. I kinda felt guilty about pulling this deal off, but I really didn't expect it to go through. I was originally gonna pick up a System Selector from Gamestop and figured it was worth a shot to try.

Yeah, I know how you feel. I was about to get the PM, but then another cashier yells "I ain't DOIN DAT!!!" She was such as bitch, I can't even describe it. Then the manager came over and she was still yelling at me and stuff for no reason. The manager however was really nice but that cashier was such a bitch. Ah...came so close.... I'll have to try again later at another store! :wink:
 
I got my copy for $20 at Best Buy. I am taking my receipt to CC to try to price match. CC is really good about PM. Last time I tried to PM at Wal-Mart, they through me out of the store.
