I bought a 15th anniversary arcade stick from EB a few days ago, and while playing street fighter 2 and 3 on it, I've noticed that sometimes, during play, the stick is registering phantom movements leftward, where if I let go of the stick, the character on screen moves left. While this isn't a serious problem as it happens rather infrequently, should I return the stick anyway? Will it get worse?
I really like the stick, and it's the last one they had, so if I return it, it'll likely be for credit only. I got a tekken 5 bundle last week and loved the arcade stick, and being unable to track down a reliable ps2-xbox controller coverter, I thought I'd try the street fighter stick. I'd never had an arcade stick- closest I've ever been to having one is playing with a friend's NES advantage- but the tekken and street fighter sticks have made me realize I can't ever go back, at least not for fighting games. I'd like to keep the street fighter stick, but not if this is a harbinger of problems to come, or if I'll soon realize I can't stand the drifting. Can this be fixed? Can I open the thing up and find a quick solution? Or should I just return it and hope EB gets some more?
