N64 game case project - live!
OK, here are the covers that I have.

Conker's Bad Fur Day
Donkey Kong 64 (bad shape)
Goldeneye 007
Knockout Kings 2000
Madden 99
NHL Breakaway 98
NHL 99
Perfect Dark
Rampage 2 Universal Tour
Resident Evil 2

I'll take requests on those.
Looking at your boxes we could do with:

Knockout Kings 2000 - Front, Back & Spine
Madden 99 - Spine only [ Front,Back on Gamescanners ]
NHL 99 - Front, Back & Spine

The rest have been done other than NHL Breakaway 98 which I have so if you can scan those at 300dpi and get me them I'll contribute my NHL box scan. I could do with the full size scans to get the best quality pics up on Snackbar.....asssuming it ever gets updated....sheesh!!!! Tell me when you've done them.

New Job

I started a new job today so until I get back into the groove of things you won't see much from me. Hopefully having Wayne around will make this short transition much easier. I will try to be around for a short period during my lunch hour and during downtime.
Might explain lack of updates.
I just scanned Knockout Kings and NHL 99. I'll do Madden soon.

Are we supposed to reduce the size? I tried uploading to imageshack.us, but there's a 1MB size limit.

In the meantime, I uploaded them to my site:

Fantastic. Got them off your site. I'll create the full boxes today and get them up to Snackbar for eventual availability for everyone. And I'll imageshack them as well :)

And for my part of the bargain here's

Uploading full version to Snackbar at present.

Great to see someone else contributing to the cause.
Your avatar is awesome, BTW.
Cheers

Although I'm thinking of changing the N64 logo to the playstation as it seems more appropriate being a Nintendo Luvr as opposed to Sony gear to put the knife in them:D

I'll grab the Madden spine scan when I get home from work tonight and get those boxes up asap

Sorry Guys,

Had to go out last night after work so didn't get a chance to do the boxes although everyone can get the raw scans off Schenley's site anyway so.....
Also Snackbar is still down when it comes to posting the uploaded covers although they are updating news.......

Yeah I think Snowcone is the only one who takes care of covers over there, though they have lots of news posters.

LOL. Snowcone just put a snippet up on Snackbar how the Covers are so popular with news sites and Ars Tech has just done an article on it.

So SMMM just asked when the N64 section would be updated.

Hehe......who knows. You guys may be able to download my covers soon :D
Yes. I have quite a few new covers, but I need to do them from home as I don't have Photoshop at work anymore. I'll try to do that today or tomorrow.
There you are.
What I don't get is why does he need photoshop? to preview them?
Probably, like me, he knows how to use Photoshop so well that it's a breeze to put them together in there and would be a pain to try to download anything else to learn that.

Yeah ..... but if you looked at my previous posts you'd see that I'd already created them so they're essentially ready to go.

Oh well ..... I created them so no worries for me :D

It really IS a cartoony fighting game :) Overall it plays almost like Street Fighter, 3 buttons for kick, and 3 for punches, it's got cahincombos, super-moves and everything you would expect from a game like that. The graphics are really great, so is the sound. The game itself is fun but still average. I like it though. If you find it for $10, get it, it's worth it. I got it off ebay for 14 euros which is like $16 and I didn't regret it. It's pretty rare in Europe

I read the first and last page and this sounds pretty sweet. Is anyone here selling finished products? I don't have the time/patience to undertake making a bunch of these. How much would it cost for someone to do them for me though?

I can print the inserts for you. Here are the details that I posted earlier in this thread:

If anyone is interested in having the box art inserts that are available for download printed out but don't have the resources to do it I'm offering a print service at a cost of $0.35 per insert plus a small S&H fee. I can print them out on a thin, glossy cardstock that will hold up better than paper. The printer I use is a high end commercial grade color laser that's as big as a washing machine, no kidding, and it does an incredible job. The only thing I ask is that you order a minimum of two inserts because the sheets I use are 12" x 18" and this will help prevent wasting the cardstock. I've already printed a sample using Super Mario RPG Legend Of The Seven Stars and it turned out great.

I picked a brand new PAL copy up at auction for $10.00AUS [ about $7.00US ]

Never even heard of it before and I've been into N64 since it came out. New Zealand distributors stopped importing N64 a couple of years before everyone else stopped so I guess thats why I never saw it.

Good thing is..... it's brand new in the box so I have another box to scan :D

Just wondered if anyone had cart only and needed the boxart converted?

Cheers.

LOL. I cant get the boxes....they dont ship out of USA or Canada so not much point ordering inserts.

Hell.....why am I making covers again?

As requested here's ..........

Needs a little touching up but you guys are up to it eh. Cant expect me to do everything right?

Upped to Snackbar already :)

Thanks a lot. Man, this thread really exploded when you started working on covers. And now you did Hexen, a cover i never really expected to find, and even the PAL version.
Thanks again

No worries. I'm a sucker for the cause eh!!

I'll have Nintendo on my back next me giving cease and desist letters :D
Actually .... I'm really surprised they haven't put Snackbar under the hammer as they are the worst company for protecting their products no matter how old they are. Still... I think I read they had toned it down and concentrated on the likes of Bung and Liksang etc....eg....where the real money is.

However, that may change when Revolution appears as they'll be making the complete back catalog available for it......NES, SNes and N64. So they may get back on the pursuit of Rom / manual / artwork sites again..........

Snowcone contacted Nintendo to see if they would supply cover artwork for GBA, but they said no. So, they definently know stuff like this is going on. I don't think they mind, though. They're probably making a fortune off those DS cases thanks to Snackbar.
I've been away from this thread for a while. Is there a Mario Golf cover available?
Snackbar

EDIT. Oops.......Sorry....... I was thinking of Mario Tennis.

Nope. Dont see it. Although I can buy a mint copy for $50.00NZ .....about $35.00US.

I dont have that money at the moment though due to buying all the other boxed games that you guys have benefitted from recently.

This time we have

and No .... I dont have Snowboard Kids 2 ..... yet. Very expensive to get hold of...

Still...one's better than none :) and upped already to Snackbar. Someone needs to rev up Snowcone ...

Thats #22 from me

I had a look at the Snackbar cover and didn't like the Gold lettering and Game pro sticker so used the Gamescanner cover to come up with what I think is a much better looking cover for printing.

Judge for yourself......

Cheers
If I may make a request, I'd like to see a cover for Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon.
Sorry.....I dont have that game. Hard to get in New Zealand or Australia.

Ebay have 2 listings...this is the cheapest

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/MYSTICAL-NINJA-STARRING-GOEMON-BOXED-COMPLETE_W0QQitemZ8251110836QQcategoryZ3582QQssPageNameZWD2VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

but it's pretty penny and I'm strapped at present from buying the other 8 games etc the other day.
So if someone wants to buy it .... or collectively contribute a reasonable amount to my Pay Pal account.......... or buy it as a pressie for all these covers I've done:D
Nintendo's Blast Corps.

Upped to Snackbar as usual.......
Another one I needed. Thanks!
I have a sealed Mario Golf, maybe I can get it scanned in
That would be great! Altough, I can't imagine that shrink wrap would do anything good for the scanning process...

I was thinking about that. I can give it a try and see what happens.

I feel a bit odd about people buying boxes just for this project. I mean, if they really want to then it's cool, but the basis of this project is mostly about volunteer time and effort rather than $$.

There are people out there with these boxes - we just need to somehow find them and convince them to scan the boxes in so we can Photoshop covers.

I must admit I've been buying boxed games to replace loose carts but have been concentrating on ones where there are no covers on Snackbar. Thats why I still haven't got big games like Yoshi, Banjo Tooie, Paper Mario which are some of the best N64 games out there.
Problem is....the cost of boxed games is much higher generally than loose carts so I'm not making enough money on selling the carts to completely cover the boxed purchases.
The ones for sale in the previous post I'd normally make an offer on so I dont have to pass off unboxed carts but the PayPal + Visa's taken a hammering lately. I think I've spent something in the order of $600 and jumped my N64 collection from 12 unboxed games to 5 boxed N64's and 50 odd boxed games & another 15 unboxed carts.
I can print the inserts for you.
Can I just point out how worthwhile this is?

Haven't gotten around to putting them in the cases yet, but the printouts look fantastic. Thanks!
