Interesting ...... with Treasure now defunct / bankrupted I wonder who owns the rights to the old games? And whether Nintendo could get any development done to get it converted to english?

The Revolution throws a whole heap of issues up as to exactly how much they can make available and what 3rd party dev's will come onboard. Most games wil need some work done on them from what read .....

I read somewhere that they had laid off all staff etc etc due to games not being taken by the big Companies. They did say they were finishing off a couple of projects.
Thing is..... if all the staff that created the older games are gone ..... is there adequate resource to ensure the game is runnable under Revolution emulation?
Especially where Big N said some work may be needed......

Then again .... I could be getting Companies mixed up too .... was a while ago.

Actually I think they are designed to fit both ways. You might want to put an entire jewel case in there if you were a mom and pop rental place - the big plastic case would help protect the little jewel case..
 
But I tried to meassure the size and a jewel case doesn't fit :S Only the CD itself.

Maybe early editions of these cases used to have enough space for the jewel cases to fit.

These cases look more like the MediaShelving cases.[/QUOTE]The Media Shelving cases do have holders, but they are not the center hole thing you mention. You only place the CD in little things that hold the CD, but I don't think that it will prevent it from getting scratched.

I just took a closer look at your translations from my scans and noticed that you fixed the rip on Paperboy's spine. That box was pretty beat up...

Anyway, I appreciate the extra time involved to fix stuff like that.

No worries. Where there is a major issue I try and clear them up. I don't always look at the little issues like occasional dots etc as I dont have the mediashelving boxes so I tend to leave them to people to do themselves. Some people are more picky than others so it makes sense to have them do the picture finishing to their liking.

I found your scans are like mine, eg, the HP scanner gives a slightly washed out scan colorwise so I apply a brightness adjustement to make them look more natural. As with everything ..... if a user doesn't like it ..... change it :)

To fix the creases I use the cloning tool in PaintShop Pro. I find it isn't as good as Photoshop 6's clone tool but it's a lot easier to use quickly. I probably could've made it slightly better with Photoshop but having to press ALT- click for every clone is tedious compared to left and right mouse clicks.

Mario Golf is presenting a special challenge at present as the shrink wrap join cuts right thru text on the back...... ouch!!!
 
I've been making custom covers for the cases I bought (I received last week, thanks PRMega!). They're not quite ready yet, but I want your opinion on how they look so far:







By the way, the OOT one was made by scanning the Japanese version of Ocarina of Time Master Quest for GCN. So if you think I'm awesome for that, you are wrong, I'm awesome for other things, not this :p I just removed the Japanese logo and replaced it with the english-localized one.
 
Wow, that Zelda cover looks really awesome. I also like your overall vertical cover design a lot. These must have been a pain in the ass to create. Thumbs up!
I think I'm going to replace my Zelda cover with this. This red & black looks amazing.

LOL...I know how you feel though. I had shrink wrap on my Penny Racers, Doom and Buck Bumble boxes when I got them. I couldn't help myself as I wanted to play them...... It's how you store them though that determines how good a condition they stay in.
Looking at buying a shrinked wrapped MRC Racing as we speak

Yep ..... they do look great. Excellent to see someone changing things around to get exactly what he wants.

Me? ..... I sorta like the existing format on account of the sheer volume of scans already in that format. Couldn't even imagine the volume of work required to remake all the existing into a vertical format.... :hot:

Still..... great to see another take on it. :D

Yeah, I like to be unique, hehe. But I'm not planning on remaking EVERY game to the vertical format, just the ones I'm going to use.

And I will take request when I finish mine. And some artwork for the game you ask would be very helpful.

Actually I found it brand new and sealed at Half Price Books for $3.99. I am not a big fan of the Mario Golf series. I am considering putting it on ebay and see what I can get for it.

WOW! Great deal! Its amazing how much new never-been-opened n64 games go for on ebay, usually $60, $70. Those are the eBay stores that sell those outrageous prices. I do not know exactly how much it goes for on a regular auction.

EDIT - I updated the N64 cover list. RockinX, did you submit those alternate covers yet to Snack Bar Games? The images on imageshack are really tiny.

I know I've never seen it for sale in New Zealand. Got it off Ebay Australia and I've only seen it once on that as well. Hence I didn't let it pass me by :)

On the subject of boxes .... sold a few of my games and as a result have EBAY'd 3 games we dont have scans for....

Hopefully all the boxes will be a good enough condition to scan and thus drop 3 more games off the wanted/dont have list.

Well, we are taking the basic scans and making custom covers that fit into certain media cases, which can take quite a bit of work depending on the quality of the box that was scanned (and the quality of the scan itsself).

We have used your scans several times, so thanks! Keep em coming!
 
For me, the N64 is the system that most needs to make custom covers for loose games, because there is no way to see the game titles when the loose carts are stored...

That and the fact that the Nintendo cardboard boxes are the least resilient packaging ever made for games. What were they thinking? Mind you they've always been different.

They're so much harder to keep in good condition you dont want to actually store games you play regularly in them for fear of wearing them out so Mediashelving end up making a bundle outta you guys :)

Those boxes arrived yet Schenley? Couldn't send me one so I know what I'm missing? ;)

To keep this on topic, you can see my measly boxed N64 collection on the sixth shelf - look for all the purple spines. And, my haphazardly arranged loose N64 carts on the seventh shelf. Some of them have labels on them - I didn't put them on, but I'm not taking them off until I get these boxes done!

:lol: Actually, I kinda rigged it up. If I wanted to move this (even an inch left or right), I'd have to disassemble the whole thing. I screwed the outer vertical pieces right into the joists in the basement. They are held from going left or right by blocks that I screwed to the joists. It's held up just by the outer pieces resting on the floor.


If I ever get around to finishing the basement, I'd have to reassemble the whole thing as well.

I wanted it to be quick, easy, cheap, and functional.

I just traded my Rakuga Kids for Zelda:Ocarina, Lylat Wars and V-Rally99. We dont have a cover for V-Rally so as soon as I get it I'll scan it, clean it if necessary and post it here and on Snack-bar for all. I also have F1 Pole Position and Wipeout64 boxed carts in transit so here's hoping they're in good condition.
 
Yeah, I still have not received my game cases yet from Media Shelving, and it is the end of January! hmmmm... Now, the MediaShelving websites says that the cases are on backorder till mid to late February. At least they are updating their website, but I still want to know why they did not keep their promise of late January.

My order is on it's third incarnation of 'back ordered' for two weeks.

I bet you it's because of the popularity of this thread - all the lurkers went an ordered up the world's supply of these cases.
