N64 game case project - live!

I only need a few more:

Army Men - Sarge's heroes
Deadly Arts
Madden 64
NFL Blitz 2001
NFL Quarterback Club 1999
NFL Quarterback Club 2000
Yea, I know it sucks... My order is on it's third incarnation of 'back ordered' for two weeks.

I bet you it's because of the popularity of this thread - all the lurkers went an ordered up the world's supply of these cases.

Maybe so :) When I ordered the first batch they came pretty quickly.

Have a look on Snack-bar. I have already scanned my NFL QB Club 99 box and submitted it. :D

Yeah, but it's black. The rest of mine are red and it would stand out like a sore thumb.

So just take that image and put the red bar on it.

I wish I had that kind of skill, but I will try it.

nm, I got it

Yeah, I only need a few more too, if you want to get any of these games, they are awesome :D (My seal of approval for great Video Game Thrills, or maybe it is just nostalgia, I still can't believe the N64 is turning 10 this year, it still seems like yesterday.)

Wetrix
Aerofighters Assault
World Driver Championship
Rocket: Robot on Wheels
Automoblili Lamborghini
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
Crusin World
Excitebike 64

We have some great covers, but the black covers would also stick out like a sore thumb in my collection too. I have been trying to paste the red n64 bars from my cover onto the black bar cover with not much success. I have been trying to use that guide from Slash but it was made for Paint Shop Pro, when I'm using Photoshop, so if anyone out there can help me, that would be awesome.

EDIT - N64 List Updated - I have added a simple section down at the bottom of the list for games we have covers for that have not been released in the United States. It is not a list of all the n64 games, but just the ones we have covers for.

I sorta think replacing one colour with another makes them less original. If it's just to make the shelf look good when packed then just make the end red and leave front and backs whatever colour. Everyone's got a different view on this

The maIn issue is that the fronts often have the side bar superimposed over the main picture for a see thru look so if you paste a solid colour sidebar over it you lose the watermarked pic underneath.... yuck!!!

Paintshop's so easy to use for this stuff. Photoshop is more time and labour intensive but it does do a better job for things like cloning if you can stand the 2 handed processes.

I did see Cruisin USA mint the other day so a good price. Amazing that we dont have that on Snack-bar ..... or Cruisin World ..... but do have Exotica which I've never even seen before :)

Update on my Mediashelving.com order (get a load of this...)

Here's an email I got today:

This matter is total out of control. We are simply passing on the information. The supplier has been having problem in China and with shipping delays.

They have stated that it will be another 3 weeks before they received their next shipment. Please advise if you still require the order or do you wish to cancel. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Hehe ..... you poor bugger you !!!!

Oh well ...... at least we now know it isn't because 10 zillion people read this forum and ordered 10 zillion boxes of them. It's only supplier issues. Oh wait a minute ....that's probably a worse issue than mere demand.

I really cringe at the " total out of control" engrish. That sounds bad

I hope they haven't debitted your Visa buddy :)

We already have Cruis'n USA on SnackBar, remember?

I do not know if Exotica was only released here in the US or not, but it is actually a 4 on digitpress's scarcity scale and they are not as abundant on eBay unlike the other Cruis'ns.

Yep .... I forgot I whacked your scans together. I did it on my laptop at work and lost it when my portable HDD crashed the other day and I lost 40gigs of stuff. Just dloaded it off snack-bar to replace it.

Dont have to buy that one now.

Here's Rat Attack .... finally ..... upped to Snack-bar as well

Exactly. It's also really easy to just replace the red logo part of the spine and not mess with the front or back. Of course, the fact that it's not the same cover as the game we own anyway (PAL vs NTSC) is another issue.

LOL. That's easy to fix. Paste the NTSC wording from another box over the top of the PAL logo. Then as long as you dont read the -EUR on the back you'll be happily thinking it's a real NTSC cover ..... :D

Seriously guys ... I think some people are losing sight of the reason for doing this .... to provide protection for their games carts from dust etc etc.

These aren't original packaging after all so they wont increase the intrinsic $ value of your collection....

That's if you can get the boxes from mediashelving in the first place... going by the problems ol Schenley is having
That's if you can get the boxes from mediashelving in the first place... going by the problems ol Schenley is having
I was wondering if you don't have access to any other boxes. Since I live in Germany I don't have access to the Mediashelving boxes either.
So I use these for my N64 and SNES games:
popup_image.php

They were used by video stores. When you rented any video tapes they gave you this clear plastic folder instead of the original box. They have a sleeve where you can insert a cover, they are about the same price as the Mediashelving boxes and you can get them from various sources. The only drawbacks are that the games are loose inside the box because there's nothing to hold them in place and that they have slighty different dimensions (the spine is a bit wider).
So I was wondering, if you guys have trouble to get the boxes for whatever reason this could be an alternative. They are not as nifty as the Mediashelving boxes but they serve the purpose.
IF they are available wherever you live, that is

Oh I thought some of the boxes were really quite different - Starfox for example. But, like you said, I don't really care. They all look nice on my shelf. Some people really want the original art, though.

This wasn't in great condition ..... had to do a heap of cleaning up just to get it to this condition. Still ..... should suffice until someone digs up a Mint box

Enjoy ...... oh ...... upped already to Snack-bar for Snowcone to do his thing.

My imageshack directory is up to 48 N64 images upped to Snack-bar as a result of scanning my boxes and converting your raw scan submissions. Should break 50 mark when my next Ebay purchases arrive. Thats a big dent in the missing covers dept :D

EDIT. Just won a Mint copy of Forsaken on auction so I'll add that to Wipeout 64 and F1 Pole Position boxes to be scanned when they arrive

for those into black sidebars :D

Seriously though ..... the copy on Snack-bar has a cropped back and sticker residue so I thought I'd offer up my one. And the front sidebar doesn't ring with my copy either....
Each to their own but any PAL Gamers might appreciate it.

Until the next post ........

MediaShelving took away the mid to late February backorder information today on the Full Sleeve cases. This could be good news, but I not yet received an email from them confirming my order.

boxes for NBA Hang Time or Waialae Country Golf?

Because I just won them on an Ebay Auction. I noticed we didn't have them on Snack-bar and my Visa just jumped out of my wallet :D

They look in good condition but may need a bit of touching up but what do we expect of 8 yr old boxes I suppose?

I am expecting Forsaken tomorrow along with Wipeout 64 and F1 Pole Position so expect a big update soon

Thanks so much for the PAL boxes TheValeman, some of those are really hard to get hold of. Ive got beetle adventure racing, donkey kong 64, fifa 64, f1 world grand prix 2, crusin usa and mickeys speedway usa pal covers to add when ive got a couple of hours spare.

The FIFA, Mickey's speedway and World GP 2 covers would be much appreciated as we dont have those in any form on Snack-bar.
If you dont want to whack them up yourself I'm more than happy to do it. Just open the boxes fully and then fold them flat so you see the front with one spine and the back with the other and scan them at 300dpi and get them up to a www site than doesn't have a size limit [Imageshack isn't suitable] or email me them and I'll do the rest.

PAL vs NTSC? I dont really care as long as we have a cover for every game. But we're missing a heck of a lot of games so any chance to fill the gaps is great.

I GOT MY CASES TODAY!!!!

I got no notification from MediaShelving that the cases had shipped until 2 hours before the cases. I sent them an email yesterday asking about my cases. Their response arrived today andl said that the cases already shipped. It was a pretty big surprise when they showed up 2 hours later. :D

I couldn't believe how big that box was when it arrived. They were all packed nice and neat. Let me get through my game collection first, this make take 2 weeks or so. I will post how many cases I would like to get rid off. I will take international bids.

I like how pal covers are blackish instead of that red and weird transparent green over the side art (on most of the games).

for all you red box lovers out there :D

Seriously though ..... I bid and won an auction for this game thinking it was PAL. Boy ... was I wrong. So I cant play it on my N64. But the PAL box sucks after I found another one so I thought I'll keep ths one and just buy a PAL cart.... best of both worlds ..hehe

Anyways .... my loss gets you guys the best box.

Enjoy!!

Oh .... upped to Snackers already. Just waitin on Snowcone. Better update the list 4tygames:cool:

Sorry ...... the list needs updating again :D

Enjoy

How'd I get that? I sold some N64 games to a guy who happened to have it in the boot of his car when he came round to pick up the goods. I asked if I could scan it .... hehe .... the rest is history

EDIT. Cover # 52 upped to Snack-bar = World Cup 98 PAL

for those of us into Black sidebar PAL covers.

I got my cases today!!

Although, they seem to have been shipped from a different company. It appears that mediashelving.com is buying from The Video Store Shopper, if any of you want to buy from them... It's item # 50-755

Cool.... and they ship International unlike Mediashelving. I'll email for a quote.

Hey Schenley ..... I have a wee surprise for you :D

EDIT. That surprise is ? ....... Mystical Ninja in Mint condition. I should get it in a few days time. You OK with a PAL box scan ?

Oh ... I'm also waiting on delivery of SF Rush Extreme Racing. Not great condition so a fair amount of work required.

That site has NES game cases. O_O

today for the cause are .......

Ridge Racer 64
International Superstar Soccer 64.

Both PAL of course but boy am I going to be busy scanning when these all arrive. Sorry SMMM if it was you wanting Mystical Ninja ..... I knew someone wanted it so when it came up for purchase I jumped in.

Ironically the guy who let me scan the Vigilante 8 box also wanted it and I persuaded him to let me get it so I could scan it and I'd sell it to him for the same price afterwards. So we didn't end up in a bidding war :)

He's got over a hundred boxed games and he said he'll go through our game scan list to see if he's got games not yet scanned and let me convert them. Really nice guy

Have a great weekend everyone.

EDIT. Here's Wipeout 64 PAL .............

and also F1 Pole Position 64 PAL ..........

And upload #55 and the last for today is Muli-Racing Championship PAL ..........

This one was a real bitch!!. Lets say it wasn't in the best condition with a chunk ripped out of the back. Took a lot of work to clean it up to this level.

Already upped to Snack-bar

Enjoy !!!

When I was printing out the covers for my game cases, I didn't like that big sticker on the back of the Indiana Jones game, so I just redid the back of the cover with a scan from gamescanner.org that did not feature the obtrusive sticker. Took care of minor details, matched the red bars, and sent the improved version to SnackBar Games. You can view the new version here.

N64 List Updated

In looking at the N64 list I am a tad confused at the overall objective of the operation.
For example...... I have submitted a significant amount of covers of late. Now I ONLY have access to PAL covers being in New Zealand so I have no ability realistically to help out with NTSC covers.
Here's my quandry...... I have used my PAL spines to finish of several NTSC covers where Gamescanner has supplied front and backs ONLY. If you guys are seriously wanting to seperate NTSC and PAL I will have to reassess that method of completing covers. I have done this where my PAL covers have damage in front or rear yet they look identical to gamescanner pic's so I assumed that would be alright.
If this isn't and you guys are anal [ in a good way :) ] about being 100% accurate I'll bow out now.
Personally I would've though it better to have one list of all games and a simple yes to whether we have a cover or not with a qualifier where more than one is available or needs replacing etc etc.

Just food for thought and I'm interested in what everyone here thinks one way or the other.

I think originally this thread's main focus was on NTSC covers, because everyone who was creating the covers was from the United States. Now, this thread has worldwide appeal, which is great, so there are now many PAL covers. I do not think it matters that much on whether or not PAL or NTSC covers are created, as long as we have some type of cover for the game, but if someone does offer a game box scan of a different version (for instance, if we have a PAL cover and someone offers a NTSC game box scan and vice versa, a game cover should be created because someone may want a certain version for their game cover.)

The list was originally created with a focus on NTSC covers. I did not create this list, but I have kept it up-to-date. If you would like me to reorganize the list so that it appeals to both NTSC and PAL covers, I would gladly do so.

In all, I think we should continue what we are currently doing, because this will appeal to both crowds. Personally, I will not be using the PAL covers, because they will stick out in a sea of red bars, but thats just me, so do not quit what you are doing TheValeman, because everyone including me appreciates it.

I am currently half way done with putting my games in the new game boxes. I can't believe how awesome these covers have turned out.

4tygames - You need to slide the XG2 cover down a bit. J/K - it looks great.

Valeman - I think the first priority should just be to get a nice-looking cover for every game. However, if we have the opportunity, it would be really nice to get accurate covers for both NTSC and PAL. But again, first priority is to get our shelves looking nice :)

That's how I felt. Thats why I find the whole black vs Red debate a little weird

Considering the covers I did the spine for matched the NTSC front rear anyway I didn't think it would be an issue. I've been buying up mint boxed games left, right and centre at some cost lately to get scans of games for the cause . Then I sell them off again but in most cases I get less for them so it's a loss making excercise this scanning covers game

But I am happy to stop if PAL isn't suitable.

EDIT. Hey Snowcone. Where are you? Lots of covers uploaded to Snack-bar. Do your thing buddy :D

Yep, I think PAL is fine (unless the name is just totally different, and the only one I know of like that is Starfox 64 vs Lylat Wars). The only one I'm missing is Midway's Greatest Arcade Hits Vol 1 (got at a garage sale for $1, might have overpaid). I'd take that in any format, cause I don't think too many boxes exist for it :)

And again, just paste the red logo over the black one on the spine if you want your shelf to match - that's what I'd do.
How did you overpay? thats a great deal!
I was just joking around - it was more a comment about the quality of the game than the price. Actually, it would have ben a pretty good game, except I already had the PS2 version with more games and better quality.
