N64 game case project - live!
You sir, are awesome! This will serve me a lot when making a custom cover for it!
Do you want me to scan the manual? Being a vertical format it'll probably give you a better picture for your custom cover :)

Here it is

N64 List Updated.

A new list is in the works. I have a busy work week ahead at the end of this week, so maybe I can get the new list up over the weekend, probably Sunday.

Enjoy :D

The new N64 list is taking a little longer than expected. I will not update the list until it is complete, but it is getting close.

Here is the preview image:

It is still not done yet, but feel free to leave comments.

If I may make a suggestion, instead of writing only the games published by Nintendo in bold how about just writing the games we have a cover for (either PAL or NTSC) in bold and leave the others the way they are now. This way it would be easier to see which covers are missing. And I would suggest instead of writing yes/no in the NTSC/PAL covers column just write "X" for yes and "---" for no, I think this would increase the comprehensive view.
But don't take my suggestions as adverse criticism. You're doing a great job and I as well as all the others here appreciate the time and work you've put into this. This was just meant to be a modest proposal :)

New list is looking great! I agree with KaiserWAVE's suggestions. The notes column is great - we can use that to identify handmade covers vs covers from high dpi scans.

The reason I bolded 1080 and Body Harvest was because we have covers for both the NTSC and PAL, not because Nintendo published them, sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for the comments, I'll definitely put your suggestions into consideration KaiserWAVE and Backlash.
:)

:)
I got my cases today!!

Although, they seem to have been shipped from a different company. It appears that mediashelving.com is buying from The Video Store Shopper, if any of you want to buy from them... It's item # 50-755
Well.....their site says they post Internationally but I sent an email asking for pricing 2 weeks ago to which I haven't received a reply...or even acknowledgement. I'll email again but I suppose they may not want to bother with posting one box of 100 to the edge of the World.

I think I'll bite the bullet and just buy boxed games that I want as they become available. Then I dont have to worry about scanning covers any more. It'll certainly be easier on my wallet as I wont have to buy all those games we dont have covers for like I have been doing recently. I only want another six games for my collection anyway so it makes sense to just concentrate on getting them now.

Realistically that means the last two titles I will be scanning will be Command & Conquer and Destruction Derby 64. IF I manage to get Snowboard Kids 2 boxed I'll upload that as well. All other games I want already have scans on Snack-bar.

EDIT. Here it is....... #64 and 2nd to last contribution from me..... Destruction Derby PAL

and #65 and probably the last scan from Downunder ....... the mighty Command & Conquer PAL for N64......

All my images have been uploaded to Snack-bar. As usual you're waiting on Snowcone doing his thing.

Enjoy my swan song :)

I ordered Megaman 64 from Play Asia, it doesn't say pre-owned so I guess it's new and has the box and all that stuff. So I'll be scanning the box for the project.

Too bad you're going out of business TheValeman. I can't thank you enough for your work, you alone cut my wanted list in half and even less. There are just 9 covers left that I need but I'm sure they'll come up someday. So thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is my first effort, im on 56k so my uploads may take a while, could someone kindly upload it to snackbar as it took about 40mins to get it onto imageshack. Its F1 World Grand Prix PAL

Good work there buddy.... but...alas....we really need the full size version 3366x2100 up on Snack-bar. I know what you're going thru making these. But Imageshack sucks as we have to downsize the pic which just lowers the quality way down reprinting at the full size.

You need DSL :)

The New N64 List is up and updated.

If you have comments or suggestions, please let me know. The list still needs to be corrected as I keep on finding that not all games released in the US were released around the world (ex. Madden).

Sorry KaiserWAVE, I could not create a list with X and --, the --'s were messing up the functionality of the list.

When there is a game that is in BOLD on the list, we have one cover of that game, either PAL or NTSC. If the game is in BOLD and on the notes it says COMPLETE!, no more work needs to be done on that game.

Percentages are on the top of the list and are up to date.

Enjoy!

got a mint copy delivered today.

If I feel like it at some point I'll scan it and upload a new one to replace the existing cover which has quite washed out colours, especially on the back.

Madden NFL 99 IS available in PAL along with Madden 64. Also in PAL is Major League Baseball starring Ken Griffey.

Additionally..... I submitted PAL Mystical Ninja starring Goemon and there is no NTSC cover available so you need to mark that incomplete.

Just observations.

Oh .... and I submitted both PAL and NTSC covers for 007-World and World Cup 98 PAL so you can mark them as complete :)

Cheers

Oh .... on a side note .... I have a lot of covers for games on the list that have NTSC covers but not PAL ... therefore incomplete. Is there any requirement for these to be scanned just to make them "Complete" ?

If so I can upload a fair heap of covers...just dunno whether the results justify the effort.

Thanks a bunch for the clarification TheValeman. The list is updated now with the changes.

I was using DigitPress and IGN for PAL release dates, but those are American sites, so its hard to know what was released elsewhere and not. I tried searching Google for a list of all N64 PAL Games, but I could not find one. I think we had Mystical Ninja NTSC version awhile back, but it was lost due to the server crashing, so we do need it again. Sorry about World Cup 98, I confused that game with The Road to World Cup, as they were released within months of each other. Thanks for clarifying Madden for me. I also fixed 007: The World is Not Enough.

The only game I know so far that was not released as PAL was Super Bowling. I fixed all of the other games back from "Not Available" to "No". If someone could go through the list and tell me which games were not released as PAL, it would be much appreciated.

The only way I will label a game of "COMPLETE!" status is if there is both a NTSC cover and PAL cover and no more work needs to be done on that specific game. There are some people who want a specific game version for their cover. That being said, I tried my luck at the Top Gear Overdrive NTSC cover. Its hard stuff to do, so I have to applaud TheValeman for such a great effort. As you can see, there are a lot of rough edges around that I am having trouble smoothing out. I will not upload it to SnackBar yet, but anyone can take a look at it here (WARING: 6.0 mb) and maybe help me fix it before I send it off.

to complete some of the games on the game list. Otherwise we'll never get this thing finished.

First up ......... Banjo Kazooie

That looks nice.

Followed by Wave Race 64

That's two that can be marked off as "Complete"

Another one to mark as "Complete"..... Super Mario 64

Here's Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time. Much bigger file than the existing NTSC one. Wonder why?

Another two onto "Complete" status

Looks great!

I especially liked how you used the other sides of the game boxes.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time NTSC box was a custom made cover, but great job providing that awesome Collector's Edition.

List is updated

Here's Turok 2 - Seeds of Evil .......

Last for tonight is ........ Diddy Kong Racing. Thats 71 scans to date ...... sheesh!!!

More tomorrow ... stay tuned ..... Same scan time .....same scan forum

That cover was seriously munted....

I'll have a look at it when I've finished scanning the remainder of the PAL boxes ..... some 6 or 7 in all.

I'll probably look at transferring the red side bar for the NTSC box on top of my PAL scan for the front cover seeing as my copy is correctly cropped. Should be fun and games

EDIT. OK..... here it is. I've taken my original PAL scan and overlayed the red NTSC sidebar onto it.

Let me know if it's ok for submitting to Snack-bar. Speaking of Snack-bar ...... boy are they slooowww updating the cover site or what?

Cheers

EDIT. Hey 4tygames ..... just saw NBA Pro 98 PAL for sale on Ebay ..... cant see it anywhere on the Game list. Might be one that's been missed.

here's Yoshi's Story to mark as "Complete" .......

along with ........... Star Wars - Rogue Squadron.

Notice on this one I've used the proper spine as opposed to the blue sky one on the NTSC version?. So now you have the walker and X-Wing gun lined up as per the box. That took a bit of freehand masking to line up. Worth the effort though I think :)
N64 List updated

The Top Gear Overdrive cover looks great!

NBA Pro 98 is known as NBA In The Zone '98 in the US.
A note was made next to the game on the list.
Ooops..... cant see the wood for the tree's eh :)

I'll upload Overdrive NTSC to Snack-bar tomorrow then. Not that it matters much going by how slow it's getting updated these days.

EDIT. Overdrive now upped to Snack-bar.
http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZphorrest2QQhtZ-1

here's a guy selling a bunch of complete N64 games. I'll try to at least get the Mystical Ninja one.
Wow ....... someone else still alive around here ...... good to see :D

I know I said I wasn't going to buy any more games ....sigh .... but I've purchased Turok Dinosaur Hunter, Battletanx Global Assault and Aerogauge ... all boxed. So I may be able to reduce the wanted list by a few more soon !!

Did you grab my Mystical Ninja scan?

Yeah, it's good, but I was trying to get it for a NTSC scan and so I can have a complete copy. I missed it by 2 minutes, however. BAH!

Anythings better than nothing right?

And it was in pretty good condition. It'll do until another NTSC one turns up on EBAY.

What about Goemon's Great Adventure? Is that the second game?

I'm currently using the PAL cover; not trying to put pressure on you to get the US(you're doing more than enough as it is haha). I'll get it when another comes up again, since I'm the only one who wants it.

and yeah Goemon's Great Adventure is the second game. I think we have both regions for that; I supplied the US one.

Aaahhh!!! ..... I remember now. The one I had to edit out rental stickers on.

Yep .... we have both so 4tygames needs to mark it off as "Complete" against both names on the list.

The chances of me getting an NTSC cover are remote at best sorry. PAL nation here. I got Forsaken NTSC because someone imported it and didn't say it was NTSC ...... grrrr. Still.....after I put my loose PAL cart in all was well :)

Think I still have another 5 PAL titles to clean up and post as well. Donkey Kong's got a few little niggles to clean up...taking some time. Then I'll get EP 1 Racer PAL out of my hair. That'll leave us with just Naboo to find .

I saw on first page of this thread, some N64 specific cases with the memory card slot. Where can you find those ones? I was told by a member who is going to sell me 10 sleeves (as soon as I pay) that those N64 ones are probably official sleeves and will not be easy to find. ?????

I Luv this game. Appallingly hard to find boxed versions. Got this in average condition. Reason it's good is heaps of touchup work

Enjoy

Upped to Snooze-bar already .....

TheValeman thanks so much. Turok was the last one I needed for my collection. I have 15 n64 games and before you came along I think I only had covers for 8 of them. So thank you for your contributions to the project.

Your Welcome re Turok.

DK64 ...... Cover #76 ...... I ended up overlaying the PAL sidebar onto the NTSC version as mine box had too many defects. The covers are identical though so it was easy and I replaced the NTSC back with the PAL version due to differences there. All told...looks good and accurate to the original.

I also have Turok Rage Wars coming. has wear and tear but as we don't have this one at all no-one's gonna complain right? :)

EDIT. Man o man... Just looked at my Imageshack dir....up to 6 pages of images now....just for N64 covers.

If anyone has like 5-10 extra cases lying around from an order (or if some people wanna go in on a new order from that media site), I need a couple. I have cases for my N64 games but I got them years ago and they're the kind without a front sleeve =/

Please PM or e-mail me if you have some extras or can help in any way.

Yeah ...... if anyone can price up sending 10 to New Zealand that would be nice. Can't get any joy out of the site for sending product oversea's.

I'm busy putting up all these box scan's and I cant use them

upped to mark that one off as "Complete"

As with Donkey Kong 64 I overlayed the PAL sidebars due to the scruffy condition of my boxes and the fact they're identical apart from the sidebars.

One down ..... two to go ..... another town and one more show ..... leave it. Lala laaa . YES rox !!! :D

You do an awesome job, if sending stuff to other countries weren't so expensive in Venezuela and if they sent the cases to my country, I'd buy and send you some :(

I do have 10 cases I bought off PRMega, but I haven't started printing them because I'm making custom cases and I lack the time, but the OOT cover is 99% complete, so in the next few days it will be uploaded to Snackbar.

Another one off the list.

If you're getting tired of updating the list 4tygames let me know and I'll stop :D

Upped to snooze-bar as usual

arrives tomorrow according to the seller. I'll up it asap.

Unfortunately the PAL version differs significantly from the NTSC box so I wont be able the use the spine to finish off the NTSC box, the front and back of which are on Gamescanner's site. Well ...... not without it being unfaithful to the original anyway's.

Over to you guys. The PAL box has black sidebar. So if you want the red NTSC one and are happy to forsake authenticity let me know and I'll add a spine to it.

Cheers

Hey no one answered me yet as to how to obtain some of the cases that are specific for N64 games. These are the cases that have the mem card slot.

Well ....... do you think we'd be making covers for the mediashelving product if better n64 specific cases were easily available? And if they were I'm sure everybody would be talking about them as the current boxes dont have storage clips for manuals etc.....let alone mempaks

Hell...... I dont have access to ANY cart capable cases. Be thankful you're in a country of a gazillion consumers compared to mine with a mere 4 million :)

And how many games actually use the mem card, anyway? Like 5?
