Wow, these analog nub replacements are AWESOME!

They make shooter games a lot easier to control, it's like using a PS2 analog stick!

And it is easy to install!

Seriously, stop reading this and drive your dumb ass over to gamestop and buy this, now.

Quak, when my PSP gets here later this week, I'm going to cross reference a search of the PSP board and your posts, and go from there in terms of what I need to pick up and such.

So get it ready, bitch. You working for me now.
I was wondering how those work, do you actually have to remove the nub or what?
You just pop the old nub off and stick the new one on.

It is a friction attachment, no adhesives or anything.

Do they stick out further than the nub? Will my PSP still fit in my Playgear Pocket case if I use these?

It sticks out further than the nub and unfortunately it won't fit in the PGP case (you can mod the case to make it fit, though).

When I first tried to use the analog pad on teh PSP I quickly reailzed I was doomed.

1) No human being could use that flat little pad for anything other than getting arthritis.

2) It hurt more to use that pad on the PSP than it ever did to use the Dreamcast Pad for more than 5 minutes, and the DC Pad is alot like a Carpal-Tunnal machine IMHO. My hand cramped after about 2 minutes trying to reach that thing.

3) once your hands got a little sweaty from gripping/playing, forget using the pad....I'd have to use my nail (bending my thumb in a way nature never intended) to push or pull on each side of the pad cuz putting pressure on it to slide it hurt too damn much, then my thumb would slip off anyhow.

BAH who designed that crap? Some tiny asian with the hands of a 4 year old no doubt!

I read this review....immediately went over to EB's website and ordered some up. I dont care how badly I have to wreck my case to get this thing to work, being able to use the dpad is like getting a whole new PSP.

THANKS for the heads-up Quack

I picked up a pack of these the other day and, although I like the feel of them much better than the regular nub, they just don't seem as responsive as the flat one.

I also tried to modify my PGP case by cutting a hole on the rubber where the nub is, but you basically still have to force it shut and it puts too much pressure on the nub.

I think I'll probably stick with the reguler nub for now......

The NakiWorld sticks are great.

I only have one of those basic soft cases from Gamestop and luckily my PSP still fits.

I'll second my glowing review of these things. The flat pad was utterly useless to me, the angle of my thumb on the thing meant that it was only good for pushing right, not so much for "pulling left" since the texture wouldn't grip my thumb and the overall feel of "control" was sorely lacking.

But the bigger nub makes all the difference in the world...because its bigger you can move it "less" and so the control becomes finer...if that makes any sense.

A MUST BUY..plus, you get THREE. Buy a pack, and share the love :D

I got these when I picked up my PSP headset on Saturday and these are great. Only thing is that it doesn't fully fit in the Playgear case. So when I'm not playing my PSP, I have to leave the Playgear case's lid open. I'm starting to think about putting my PSP back in the soft case, but the soft case sucks because it left these wierd marks on my screen protector.
