Name a great game that people should or should have played but they did not for some reason, especially from overlooking it, never hearing of it, or never giving it a chance. Also include the easiest way to currently obtain the game. If you post a video please include one with gameplay.

(One of the best racing games I have ever played, quite ahead of its time. The game featured 6 tracks (a lot for its time) and probably around 20 cars. It had amazing physics, allowing you to really bounce the cars around and even flip them over or perform consecutive rollovers while still racing. I think it was the first game in USA to feature compatibility with the PS1 Dual Analog controller as well as rumble. Although it released before the Dual Shock did. The game is currently available on the PS Store for play on PS3 & PSP.)

i don't know very many people who have played Jumping Flash or Jumping Flash 2.
The original is available on the PSN. it's still one of my favorite PS games ever.

on a side note, i want Loaded on the PSN/XBox Arcade with online support.

I second this nomination. I loved this game back in the PS1 days.

Planescape: Torment

I have the excuse of only being nine when it first came out. What's your excuse?

And what about you?

And you? Yes, you! Mykevermin! What's yours!

Screenshots, videos, best place to get the games would all be appreciated. At least for future posts.

Starsiege Tribes (PC). Came out the same year that Half Life did. You can guess what happened.

I love this game, and still play it fairly frequently. It is available for free from any number of sites. I prefer www.Tribes0.com.

The game offers extreme modification; Addons and scripts let you give the game a more updated look, and the most dedicated members of the community actively combat the small variety of cheats that arose, but the nature of this game makes any cheat short of "auto aim" basically useless when used against a skilled player.
Anyone can develop a mod for the game and, assuming no custom shape files are required, anyone can instantly join and play the mod with no extra downloads.

They've tried to recreate this game in Tribes 2 and Tribes: Vengeance, but they just couldn't capture the magic, for whatever reason.

Fire Pro Returns. The best wrestling videogame ever made, unlimited customization, a huge community that is always making new wrestlers for it, and it gets ignored because of a combination of being 2d and not having a license. You don't need a license when you can do things like this...

Yes, that's Captain America wrestling Iron Man inside a barbed wire ring.
Planescape is not photogenic. And it's like, $100 on eBay. So... you had your chance in 1999, really.
True, but I'd still like people to be able to see the game art within this thread for discussion purposes at least. It's also good to let them know where they can get it, even if that means telling them they will need to use ebay, so that they know without researching.

Rally Cross is ridiculously fun. I spent hours just playing the single course in the demo that came with my PSX. I should pick it up from the PSN store but I keep forgetting it's on there.

I actually have Planescape:Torment. I picked it up when Media Play was still in business for $10. Years ago I installed it, played it for about 15 minutes, and then never played it again. It's still on my game shelves.

And back on topic, everyone needs to experience anything in the IL2:Sturmovik series on a big monitor with a good joystick setup. Best. Flight sim. Ever. It goes on ebay for like $5.

You are correct. And to be accurate, I was only recommending the ps1 and ps2 Klanoa game. I didn't know about the other ones.

I'll fix that, thanks.

Oddworld: Strangers Wrath. I thought this was the best game on the xbox. At the time, the graphics were jaw dropping and the story was amazing and beautiful. I feel as though this game was overlooked, but how overlooked was it?
Valkyria Chronicles. Its a shame that people are not picking it up.
This is ashame. You should probably send me a copy of it so I can play it and get the word out. ;)

SILENT BOMBER - PS1, its a awesome game! I was lucky enough to have bought it during the ps1 era. Its a must play
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sF_k2AgBViU

INTELLIGENT QUBE - PS1, rare game to get, and expensive, I played the demo back in ps1 era, but never owned, finally won it off ebay, and man was it expensive :/
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdUQnbysa0Y

Also the loaded, reloaded games are great, jumping flashes also great, Rally Cross is awesome, one of the more fun racing games of the time, so i had to buy that also :)

CARNAGE HEART - PS1, this game required skills, you basically Programmed your robots to fight, in the video you see the diagram in the top left, well thats the program the guy created, and the robot is running it. It was a awesome game, ahead of its time, and not for everybody, but man did i have fun with my friends, we would build robots and program them, and then fight them to the death, see who's robot was the best.

PHILOSOMA - PS1, nice shooter, varies from 2d, 3d, 1/3 view, its like a bunch of shooter views mixed through out the levels. not to bad

Planescape: Torment is a good one.

Also System Shock 2 (Maybe. Not sure how well it sold but I recall being able to sell my used copy on eBay for well over $100 years ago so there couldn't be too many of them around.)

ico , shadow of the colossus, psi ops, whomp em, werewolf. ( most of the games i mentioned are games that get big by word of mouth but many people still havent played them.

Back in the PS1 days I'd probably said Suikoden because it was a cult hit, but now people have taken notice because of the ridiculous amount it goes on Ebay.

Anyone played Silver or Darkstone for PC? Surprisingly good RPGs games
Valkyria Chronicles. Its a shame that people are not picking it up.
Played the demo, it's really not a game for everyone, but I could see some strategy gamers really digging it.

As for me I'd definitely second you on Klonoa 2, very much a 2D platformer that manages to feel fresh and with the times.

I'd also strongly mention Shadow of The Colossus, this isn't just a mere "good" or "quirky" title people missed out on, for me it was up there with the top tier games of its generation. It's just a game everyone should at least try. Epic, pretty, and most importantly fun.

Jet Grind Radio gets a vote from me obviously. I don't blame people too much for not playing it, given the fact that it came out only on the DC. It's worth the purchase of a DC, even if it's the only game you play. One of the most stylish games you'll play, and it's fun.

Planscape Torment is awesome!!!!

Here is one game I would throw in

Clive Barker's Undying
IIRC Okami sold almost 500k with both editions combined.
Ah, yeah I forgot about the Wii port.

Oh well, 500K is still far to few for what was easily one of my top 5 games of last gen.

Tobal No. 1
I remember finding it one of the best fighting games of the PS era, but now most people haven't heard of it.
Psychonauts
Thank you. I'm disappointed that this thread got this far without a mention of Psychonauts.

Also, beyond good and evil.

Elemental Gearbolt - best light gun game ever. Wished Working Designs had released more copies to the public

Nectaris - one of the better versions of Military Madness

Trap Gunner - Fun little quirky isometric game

Warsong - Only Langrissor game to make it over here. Really hard to track down a copy but well worth it, game is awesome

Lords Of Thunder - Awesome shmup

i still have mine. i loved the dungeon mode. a sequel came out oversees iirc but never came stateside.

another addition to the list is XIII. check your local gamestop. it's got a very cool style and story and has Fox Mulder. can't go wrong really.

I think most CAGs are aware how good those games were.. they were pretty much sought after when they were on clearance a couple of years ago.

I didn't care for R.A.D. The controls were a bit weird for my tastes. I'll have to say Shenmue 1 and 2, and Way of the Samurai 1 and 2. Hopefully the third Way of the Samurai will make it's way to the states.
