Cocteau Twins: Carolyn's Fingers

man, I loved the Cocteau Twins back in the day, maybe after work I'll have to listen to 'em.

More: almost anything from YAZ/YAZOO, + Erasure

Time also to include Turning Japanese as well as Billy Idol. Depending on the aim of the Cd, you could also include Elvis Costello's Peace and Understanding.

The Cure - Just Like Heaven, Pictures of You
Depeche Mode - Never Let Me Down Again
OMD - If You Leave

Can't believe nobody has mentioned the Beastie Boys. Some of their early stuff was great. Paul Revere, Girls, Slow and Low...that entire Licensed to Ill album was sweet.

And for easy listening, Hall & Oates is the ultimate 80's artist.
Michael Jackson- Thriller

Herbie Hancock - Rockit..
I'd have to agree with those.

Also, Tainted Love, Hangin' Tough, Video Killed the Radio Star, and whatever Billy Idol was in the 80's.

Where is all the "hair metal cock rock"
Motley Crue, Ratt, Posion, Twisted Sister, GnR, Metallica (When they were cool), Cinderella, Anthrax and others.

I hated Hair Metal but I did like Ratt. They were a bit heavier than the other pussy bands like Poison, Warrant, Slaughter..etc.

During the 80's though, I mostly listened to Thrash like Metalica, Megadeth, Testament, Suicidal Tendencies, Death Angel, Exodus, Nuclear Assault, etc..

You will never have a complete overview of the GREAT '80's music without Def Leppard!!!

Add "Photograph" and "Pour Some Sugar On Me" to your silly cd NOW!!!

Uh, why was Anthrax included in a hair-metal list?
Thats a No-No :)

Hair Metal:
White Lion, Whitesnake, Cinderella, Motley Crew, Great White (Hmm..lotta white in this list).....etc. Some rocked harder than others, but they're all in the same big happy family...

But Anthrax was pure Thrash.....no spandex, no scarves, no zebra-print hats :p

You know we never did find out what the aim of this CD was....Easy Listening, Hair Metal, Vintage Thrash, synth-pop, Euro-Syhtn-Pop.....!??!?!!?!?

upon closer inspection, i've decided that the 80's weren't that bad after all. Mostly because two of my favorite punks albums of all time came out then. Bad Religion's Suffer and No Control, both classics of real punk.

I love album tracks more then the singles usually but for this i'll stick to singles....I don't want to get too obscure, either!!

--------"New Wave"--------
Echo and the Bunnymen - Killing Moon
