Season has started! Play your games by next Monday! Each week, the schedule will advance at 8 PM Pacific/9 Central/10 Eastern on Monday.

After double digit freezings over the last few weeks, my disc (with no scratches or smudges) decided to stop reading altogether. I tested all 29 of my other games, and all work fine.

The timing sucks since we were just about to get into Big Ten play, but I'm done with this game. I considered exchanging it for another copy, but after playing 40-50 games, its flaws have become very apparent. It already felt dated, like Madden 08 basically with a different coat of paint. But then I kept noticing consistent flaws in the pass defense, comeback AI, and freezing (none of which were a problem in Madden 08) so I said fuck it. EA is letting me exchange it for NHL 09.

I just got off the phone with FrankySox. As one of my most trusted CAG friends, I wanted to see if he'd take over. He accepted. Apparently, if I retire, he can recreate the dynasty (with all stats/records intact) by saving the dynasty file as it prompts us all to do each Monday when I update. So whenever I can get my friend to bring over his copy, I will let Franky know so he can save the current stats/results, then I'll retire and he'll remake the dynasty, and you all can continue normally.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but thanks for being good about getting games in on time. I hope the dynasty continues to be successful under the rule of Franklin Quincy Sox, Junior.

All right, looking good so far. FYI, I'll be following the same plans as FriskyTanuki with his dynasty. I am just on vacation now and won't have much internet time till Monday or Tuesday.

You should've contacted and used the people that already signed up for your dynasty in the sign-up thread. I'm not trying to tell you how to run your dynasty, but myself and others posted intentions to join the one you were hosting:

Arkay Firestar? Where the hell have you been? I remember playing NFL 2K5 with you and then you seemingly disappeared.

Anyhow, sorry for the lack of updates. I was on vacation for 10 days, and I didn't have a working computer at home after I got back. Now I do, and I will be readily available here and on Xbox Live.

I will create the dynasty tonight and send out invites tonight or tomorrow. I have to check to make sure I can set it up without being certain on the exact number of players.

Depascal and FrankySox, please pick your specific team, since you both listed several. Also, rennermania, Arkay picked Purdue before you. You're welcome to choose another team.

As for when we'll start, I'll let you know once I go through the league setup and see how that all works. If possible, this weekend would be great in my opinion.

Damnit MY I thought you were an internet legend. I listed the teams in order I wanted them so you can just start from the top and take the first available one. Thank you MY
 
Sorry Franky, I didn't know that was a list in order. Any chance you'd want Northwestern or Minnesota? If not, I'll have to bump someone who chose one of your picks following the post you made, but I don't want to disappoint anyone if possible.

Also, I updated the OP with the list of teams. There are 2 left, pending resolution of the FrankySox situation.

You sure? I am still willing to bump someone if you want one of the 4 teams you listed, since it was I who made the error. But if you're cool with Minnesota, that'd be great. Your choice.

Well I don't want to piss anyone off, I'll play upset special with Minnesota and just start another one. I got Georgia in my other dynasty so it's all good.

I saw you would be willing to play another dynasty. I want to do a big12 but maybe add another conference as well. Or maybe just do like a six team or something.
 
Lets hope Minnesota has a VERY weak non-conference schedule and nobody ever picks Northwestern...I'd like to at least win one. Don't for a second think I wont try to bring it when I play the top teams...I should be capable of one upset, the sooner I get my Xbox the sooner I can practice.
 
The dynasty has been created. Invitations have been sent to everyone except cmoore. cmoore, you must have an EA account (just log in to the online mode of the game) for me to be able to invite you.

I think if no one joins as Northwestern by Friday evening, I'll just cut it off at an even 10 teams since no one but Michael Wilbon cares about Northwestern anyway. In that case, the season would start Saturday or Sunday (I'll let you guys make suggestions on one of those 2 days, or another). Sound good?

EDIT: I forgot- You are free to set your non-conference schedule as you like, but do not add any more games to your overall total. Change which teams you are playing to cupcakes or contenders. I don't care. But keep it to the scheduled 4 non-conference games. Leave open dates open, unless you make another previously scheduled date open to replace it.

Cool, thanks. I'll send the invite out in 45 minutes or so when I get on.

Once you accept the invite and cmoore starts up his EA account, we can begin. What say you all to a Sunday start, with the schedule advancing each Sunday? That is assuming we get everyone in by then.

Hey man, I thought I recognized your name! I guess I just kinda drifted from the game (feels like ages ago). Glad to run into you again, man. I am PUMPED for this league...online dynasties are the best thing to happen to video game football since online franchises in Madden 2002 PC. Too bad Madden 09 doesn't have drafts and multiple seasons in its online leagues, but this is the next best thing.

Anyways, all done with my preseason stuff (hopefully) and ready to roll whenever things get set.

If you ever clear up room on that friends list feel free to add ;)

This information has been added to the OP. I know Franky doesn't have his Xbox back yet. The only pre-season tasks are redshirting players and such, so if Cmoore gets in, I won't wait long for everyone to do that.

I PM'd Cmoore telling him he needed to log in so I could invite him. he has been on CAG since but never created an EA account. I'll wait another day, maybe 2, but after that I may need to find a replacement.

No, I never made it over there! I was planning on going tonight and doing it because apparently he did the towel trick so it'll work for a while. I haven't been on since my xbox was shipped.
 
Well, at some point someone accepted the dynasty invite. All that matters is that you're in.

EDIT: Cmoore is in. We still have 2-3 people who need to set "ready to advance". I could force an advance, and it wouldn't matter much at this stage unless you guys really want to redshirt someone, but I'll wait. FrankySox is supposed to get his system back in the next couple days, so I may as well just wait for now.

As of this moment, the season starts Monday and you will have 1 week to play your games.

I'm readied up...I got redshirts and stuff last night. Matt can you double check that? I'm not sure but I set ready up but then I had to back out of everything but I should be good to go.
