NCAA Football '08 - OUT NOW!! Bring it on!!

I highly doubt any GS/EB down here will sell the game early. I don't remember a time where they didn't obey the street dates.

I actually went to two gamestops in Lake Jackson, TX which are closer to my house than that location today and neither had the game today, so my guess is that some employee either marked a wrong date on that sign or that particular gamestop was jumping the street date. My guess is the first one. Sorry, if I got anyone's hopes up:lol:
 
Looks like FK found a way around the Roster issue....that is great news. Now, I'll be able to pick up NCAA 08 and wait ti play it as m 360 is broke :(

That is the easiest way of getting them, the cheapest route would be a usb keyboard and you putting them in yourself, but that is just a big waste of your time, or at least it would be to me :cool:

If you don't have a card, that's still $45. I believe the Xsata ($40) works, unless someone can tell me otherwise.
 
DT is not as good as FK. Do some research and you will see why FK is better.
DT steals other peoples work and then does not give credit untill he is called out.
I get and will continue to get all my rosters from FK.
 
Ahh fuck that, paying $40 and up for some names? I'll just do it myself...maybe...or auto-naming FTW...or maybe I can just buy them both and get the rosters and then return it for a refund...hmm...

Anyways, it's been confirmed that Fry's in some locations is gonna have this for $49.99 on Tuesday. I'm getting it there :)

Where can I get a transfer kit in stores?

Even if they get it in early, they'll hold from stocking shelves 'till near that time since it's advertised by noon. They didn't want people coming in at the advertised time and not having any games to sell. It might be different in each location, though.
 
got mine today, watching my bro play it right now. Looks nice and fluid. Everything seems to flow together real well and the collision detection seems to be a lot better than in the past.

Anybody know how to load rosters into Dynasty? I manually typed up the whole Cal roster on there and I want to use them in Dynasty with the names and not numbers. How do I do that?
 
Picked up my copy today. This game is awesome!

I've been hooked on the Legend mode all day so far and loving it. They pretty much have every medium size and bigger town in every state represented and I won the state championship with my local high school. I got recruited by UT and I have been working my way up the depth chart. The only small gripe I have so far with the legend mode is that I think it would have been cool if they would have had actual classes (or an option for them) like in BULLY instead of just having them on the schedule. Also, the nightlife aspect is a little weak. Other than that, I completely love the set-up for legend.

I really don't play any other EA sports games other than this, but a few of the features that really rule on this game are the ESPN on Demand where you can watch video highlights from the real ESPN. I also like how they have sportscenter radio playing in the background on the main screen while the big screen in your trophy room plays your saved highlights. Also, the weather channel live feed that gives you the actual current weather in the stadium is a nice touch. One other cool feature is that the game saves every play in a game and you can decide at the end of a game if you want to save one to your saved highlights. Very cool touches by EA all-around.

The gameplay and graphics are top notch as well.

I've got my USB keyboard hooked up and I'm going to type in the rosters for UT and everyone on their schedule. Anyone know a good spot to get them in one shot?

Edit: Strike my last request! After going through and filling in names for UT, there is no way that I am going to do it for another 12 teams.

FK said he would have them by tonight or by tomorrow, his site usually acts up since so many people bombard it during these tough times.

Can you load the rosters again once in dynasty. I think most time when you atart a dynasty it resets the roster.
 
Rosters are actually well done by EA this year. Only a couple of glaring misses, took me about 45 minutes to do a team (and I was caring about the from location). I think I could do a team every 30 minutes or so, better than shelling out $40-$45 to get them loaded.

You have to go into My NCAA 08 and then into file management and then load the rosters. After that you need to begin a dynasty. I don't think there is anyway to do it after you've already started a dynasty.
 
Is anyone here interested in starting some sort of CAG league?
Let me know, I was thinking of trying to start one if i can get enough interest.

After winning the Nevada state championship I went onto sign with Louisville as a 3rd string HB. After a good 2 weeks worth of practice made myself into a starter and am starting my role as a campus legend.
 
Dt has a test roster out at psxsports.com. Its under ncaa football. Its all teams named but he still hasnt updated depth charts, numbers etc...so if you really want names.
 
I see OPERATION SPORTS and FKRosters are down. Did the rosters come out, and did it blow up the server?

Anyone try the rosters yet, did they work correctly?

I hope my 360 comes back soon enough....4-6 weeks is horrible.
 
Sucks that you can't have accurate rosters in Campus Legend mode. That's a big disappointment for me, as that's probably primarily how I'll play the game.

That's my impression. You create your legend, take him through the playoffs. When you sign with a school, you have the option to assign names, or not. Not, gives you the #s. You can edit your own player, but nothing else about the team.

Unless I'm being thick, and if I am please tell me because I'd really like to know.

Also, practice blows ass. 10 points to your first spot jump, then 126 after that for each successive. The max you can get is 80 points, but even with me cheating (Freshman difficulty) and AI weakened, I get about 40-50 points max per practice. This is being an H-back. First downs are 2 points, user controls (stiffarm, catch) get you two, big gains get you 4 and TDs get you 6. Max of 8 (1st down, TD) on each play, and you go from the oppo 35 each time.

Now if you pick a lesser school and become a starter right away, you might feel different. Sorry, UGA fan through and through.
 
whats up!?!? Ok...I'm thinking about buying this game but have never bought a NCAA football game before. I was born and raised and STILL live in Idaho and really want this game for obvious reasons. So, my question is, if I buy this game does the rosters update when playing online like it does for Madden? Meaning if I buy this game so I can play as BSU online will the rosters get updated and I won't get to use coverboy Jared anymore? I know when I buy Madden out of the box the rosters are from last year and then once the season starts and games are played, the rosters get update to the current year. Not sure if I worded all that correctly...so...since Jared got signed with Texans, when rosters are updated I won't be able use him in online games?

No, Jared isn't on your roster. All seniors are removed, and a guess is made at incoming freshman (as to who will play vs redshirt).
 
OK, thanx, wow that sux hard. Almost absolutely no reason for me to buy this now except for the fact that Idaho will NEVER EVER get on the cover of any other football game again. I just wanted to play using my states team since it was ACTUALLY good last year. BOOOO! Guess I'm a year behind.

It's NCAA eligibility rules. Cover athletes are always on the year after they leave school.

I think this version may have the Fiesta Bowl game as a Classic, something to think about

I think I can confirm that you can't use custom rosters. I started a second legend career just to find out. I loaded my custom rosters before I started and didn't save my game until signing day. I tried to start my NCAA career with and without the generated names, but neither loaded my custom roster. I also went back and loaded the rosters again just before signing day....again with no luck. Definitely a draw back, but a small one for me. One thing I don't like about Legend mode is that the play calling can be terrible at times. Run up the middle on 3rd and 9 and stuff like that....and definitely too many runs up the middle with my custom player who I created with speed as his main attribute. Luckily, though if you choose a quarterback as your Legend player you can do audibles. Just a few small gripes, but I definitely love the game and will be busy for months with this title!
 
Sorry for the DP but both DT and FK have released version 1.0 of their rosters. Only names no depth charts or anything yet. For those people that hate DT he actualy got his out first. I pretty sure that proves he didnt steal anyones rosters this year..Get over it that was a few years ago
