NCAA Football 10 (360) $33, (PS3) $45, (PS2) $20 - Amazon DotD

And now I will vent a bit.

I can fully understand when Amazon sells 360 games way cheaper than the PS3 version at times. But when it's a DotD, it just makes Amazon look lame. When a PS3 user (like me) see's this, it sure is a deal...if you're a 360 owner, and completely puts off the PS3 customer.

I love Amazon, I shop mainly through them, but when they pull stupid things like this off...it just makes me shake my head.

Is it me, or does XBox360 get all of the better deals at Amazon and other retailers? That's not to say I don't like XBox360. It just seems to me that there's a bias from the retail market when it comes to PS3 and even Wii. Wii's price discrepancies have more to do with Nintendo than it does the retailers. However, the anti-PS3 movement puzzles me!

If NCAA 10 was also $33 for PS3, I'd consider buying this. Because it's not, I pass, as will 90% or more of PS3 owners. We're sick of retailers sticking it to us because we own a PS3 and not an XBox360.

Wow! We literally wrote the same comment at the very same time. Why does a company as great as Amazon continue to alienate PS3 owners? I could see why they were doing it 1 or even 2 years ago, but now PS3 and XBox360 are on the same level. Showing alliance to one or the other is ignorant, and if not for the fact I love Amazon, I'd be even more pissed off! :bomb:

want good deals and great games get a 360 'nuff said, as for the deal Is it even worth getting over NCAA Football 09 because you know QB #9 is still QB #9 never understood why an agreement can't be made to use real player names

I do get good deals (great ones actually) and great games for the PS3, so unless I'm missing something...what's your point? You sound like a retro 360 fanboy.

just saying most great deals are on 360 games, I rarely find great deals for ps3 games
 
I'm always a year late on all sports games because they go down to $10 tops so I can wait a year to play the same game with it's minor tweaks to save $50. Anyways about the PS3 debate. I think there may be two reasons for this. 1 the value of blu-ray is higher so the games in general are all more valuable which is also reflected on ebay as people are (usually) willing to pay more for the PS3 version of the same game for the 360. 2 there are way more 360s then PS3s due to the different models and limited edition bundles and the 360 RRoDing every 5 minutes(then people with know how scoop up the broken ones and fix them). Due to this there are tons more people with 360s and buying 360 games so if they can sell 1000 360 copies for every 200 PS3 copies they make around the same amount of money with each according to their mark up.

They cannot use player names because of NCAA regulations regarding amateur athletes. Of course, they do actually update the rosters every year to include incoming freshmen. It might seem silly to some, but as a die hard college football fan, I enjoy putting in the player names myself every year. It's a good barometer of my knowledge of my team.

Prices also reflect attach rates. Certain games sell a lot more on the Xbox 360, because it has a higher percentage of GTA IV/Madden type gamers. The Xbox 360 copies of those games have lower trade-in values.

I would also like to point out that NCAA 2010 for $35 isn't much of a deal either considering 2011 comes out in 2 months. It would have to be $10 or less for me to even consider buying it. Even then, what's the point? I already played it a fair bit almost a year ago. I'd rather pay $15 more in 2 months and get the new one.
 
Thanks Cheapy but pretty lame deal by Amazon, they're trying to squeeze what money they can before the next game comes out in 2 months, and they'll be forced to drop this game to $20 or less.

Would some of the issues with Amazon having better deals on 360 games being what they sell on the site? Every time Cheapy puts up his top 50 purchases on Amazon through CAG only about 5-10% of the titles are PS3 games. The other 90% or so are always 360/Wii/DS.
