Experience a whole new game in NCAA Football 14 with the introduction of real-time physics and the Force Impact system. Gameplay has also been tuned with the college game in mind, with special attention paid to collegiate staples like the Spread Option offense.

 • Physics - The new and improved Infinity Engine 2 comes to NCAA Football, bringing with it renewed authenticity and enhanced realism. New features include:
 • Stumble Recovery - Fight gravity as you scramble for extra yards. Utilize the right control stick to try and regain your feet or lunge forward for that extra yard.
 • Force Impact Trucking and Hitting - Feel the power of physics as runners bowl over defenders or tacklers make a big hit on the ball carrier, all driven by the new Force Impact system. Also, utilize improved stiff-arms that take size and strength into consideration.
 • Running Game Improvements - The introduction of physics offers a suite of improvements to the running game, including hard run cutting for direction changes, improved run blocking and a new acceleration burst that lets you get around the corner or through the hole and into the open field.
 • Option Offense - Play true to your team with over 20 new option types, all optimized for a true college football experience. Utilize the Spread Option, Zone Read and more to stymie defenses and put big points on the board. Highlight key defenders before the snap and read their movement after to know when to pitch the ball and when to keep it.

College football is unpredictable, and now so is NCAA Football 14.

The addition of Infinity Engine 2 allows you to play true to your team with gameplay tuned with the college game in mind, bringing multiple college play-styles to life. Players have been significantly tuned to balance based on position and size, which means you’ll also feel momentum as you run with the ball. You’ll also notice updated player behavior after each play is over.

Here’s a look at specifically what you can expect with the new Infinity Engine 2.

The Power of Force Impact

As we continually evolve the Infinity Engine, we have more control to build physics-based features to create more realistic player interactions on the field. The Force Impact System allows us to create more realistic hits that take momentum, speed, and mass into account. You can now feel the big plays on offense and defense, which provide a more real feeling than ever before.Offense wasn’t the only side of the ball that got some love, this year in NCAA Football 14 you will find the Hitstick is much more powerful than ever before. Deliver bone crushing hits and tackles to the unsuspecting ball carrier.

Players can now recover from a near tackle with the new Stumble Recovery, which you can see a ball carrier put their hand down on the turf and keep trudging along for more yards. Based on a combination of player attributes and the impact of the hit, this is a real-life movement from the field that makes a huge difference in the open field. The stumble recovery will help assist in those frustrating moments where you run into a defender and watch your player fall to the ground without any way to recover.

With the Infinity Engine 2, things like dive tackles, trucks, and stiff arms are now driven by physics when timed correctly. All of these improvements to gameplay are made possible by the Infinity Engine 2, which allows for thousands of organic, unpredictable outcomes with some of the biggest hits we’ve ever seen in the NCAA Football franchise.

Swerve Not

Another significant improvement to gameplay in NCAA Football 14 is the running game. This year, we enhanced the running game by enabling you to make hard cuts on the field. The running game is an integral piece of college football, and in order to deliver the most realistic experience, we’ve emphasized changing the running game to eliminate inauthentic turning and running. With NCAA Football 14 you can make more hard cuts, which give better feeling of better weight and realistic running.

Building a Better Back

One thing we’ve learned over the years is that running backs are almost never moving at full speed the moment they take the ball, and need to be patient to allow blocks to develop and find the hole. While we’ve previously put an emphasis on getting the running backs up to full speed as quickly as possible, this year we’ve tuned the game to give users more control over running backs behind the line, as well as when making moves in the open field.

We’re also aware that sometimes you need that extra burst of speed, so we’ve introduced an acceleration burst mechanic that allows you to hold the right trigger and reach top speed more quickly to get around the corner or evade a pursuing defender. There’s a tradeoff though, as running harder – as well as making moves like spins, jukes and cuts – drains your stamina faster, so you may lose your steam on long runs. We’ve included an on-screen stamina meter this year, so you’ll know exactly how much energy you’ve got left on any given play before you run out of gas.
I really don't get how they'll do ultimate team mode in a college game. OMG I got a South Carolina #7!!!
thats what i said too
if thats the direction they go in, searching for players on the market is gonna be a nightmare

Wow, I thought the fact that EA and the NCAA made money off the use of the players likenesses was the subject of a few law suits in the past, right? Now not only are they going to make money off the game, but they will microtransact us to death buying and selling packs of virtual players. I'm sure the lawyers will love this one.

The question I want to know is if I can import my NCAA players to Madden. I hated that they took that feature away last year. Bring it back I say!!!

It should return this year since both games will be on the same engine, which was the reason that it didn't happen last year.

NCAA Football 14 brings the game to life like never before with new additions to on-field presentation and a renewed emphasis on the story of each game. Handheld cameras capture the action from unique angles, and Brad Nessler and Kirk Herbstreit key in on impact players and noteworthy performances. Additional features and enhancements include:

 • New Pre-Game– A live look-in from Rece Davis sets the stage for a brand-new intro featuring vignettes, traditions, text wipes and more all set to a music video.
 • Neutral Site Games– For the first time ever in the series set up neutral site matchups including the Texas Kickoff, Cowboy Kickoff and Chick-fil-A Kickoff.
 • New Music and Chants– Rock out after a big play as fans chant along to college football staples Seven Nation Army and Zombie Nation.

http://www.easports.com/ncaa-football/news/article/ncaa-football-14-presentation

The ultimate goal of any video game is to immerse you in the action. That’s why we’ve been heavily focused in making improvements both on and off the field for NCAA Football 14. We’re excited to start revealing some of the biggest upgrades to presentation.

ncaa-football-presentation-1.jpg

In NCAA Football 14, you’ll feel the emotion of college football right from the streamlined and responsive menu interface. Now you can see all the game modes and available options – such as Play Now, Dynasty and Ultimate Team – at a glance and jump straight into the action.

One major complaint from fans over the last few years is that the pre-game simply took too long. When you’re in Play Now, you want to play. Pregame festivities have been redone from 2-3 minutes sequences to emphatic 30-second intros that still retain all of the college traditions that play such a big part of different school's identities.

The intros in Dynasty Mode are also deeper and more immersive than ever before. Rece Davis will set the stage with robust game storylines that are accompanied by a variety of on-screen banners, faithfully recreating the type of montages seen on ESPN before big games on Saturday. On-screen banners incorporate dynamic phrases, and there are multiple variations based on the type of game you are playing, like a rivalry or bowl game.

ncaa-football-presentation-2.jpg

New triggering logic in NCAA Football 14 will capture the emotion on the field like never before. Replacing the legacy vignettes are more than 500 new sequences that run between plays. These vignettes are designed to keep you in the action – just like watching college football on TV. You’ll also notice dynamic player wipes and all new-team wipes.

Another detail that makes a big impact is the inclusion of pre-play player chatter. Now, in addition to hearing the QB bark out audibles, you can listen in as defenders call out their adjustments. You might catch the center calling out the number of down linemen or the QB calling out the Mike Linebacker. Linemen can make calls to alert potential blitzers, and the defense will counter by calling out strength of formation. You may even hear the location of the tight end or which players the defense will be keying on. You’ll also hear players celebrating between whistles as they make game-changing plays like TDs and INTs.

ncaa-football-presentation-3.jpg

Authenticity is important to NCAA Football 14 and the game will feature the latest new uniforms, team-specific gloves and base layers. In close collaboration with the apparel manufacturers, you can expect regular uniform updates post-launch as well. Rest assured that your team will not only be playing in accurate gear, but they’ll also be using the correct football based on their school’s equipment and apparel manufacturers. That’s right, Under Armour schools will play with an Under Armour ball.

ncaa-football-presentation-8.jpg

This year, South Alabama makes its long-awaited debut in NCAA Football along with Old Dominion and Georgia State. The Jaguars stadium has been accurately recreated, as has Texas State’s. That’s right, Jim Wacker Field at Bobcat Stadium will be in the game. Both big and small schools received attention, with TCU’s stadium updated to reflect their recent renovations. Horned Frogs fans should feel right at home.

ncaa-football-presentation-5.jpg

Neutral site games make their long-awaited debut this year, including the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Classic (Georgia Dome), Cowboy Kickoff Classic (Cowboys Stadium) and the Texas Kickoff Classic (Reliant Stadium). NCAA Football 14 also features three stadiums brought over from Madden NFL: Soldier Field, MetLife Stadium and M&T Bank Stadium. You can even create your own neutral site game. Let your imagination run wild.

The Story of the Game

In addition to the on-field improvements, NCAA Football 14 features a more realistic and enjoyable broadcast experience. This year, Brad Nessler and Kirk Herbstreit will focus on the ever changing in game stories that make college football so great. They'll highlight key players and their performances throughout the season, along with the storylines that play out dynamically on the field.

The development team meticulously studied box scores throughout the 2011 and 2012 season, dissecting statistics and finding patterns. What was discovered was that many games follow similar storylines and these were the first building blocks of our Drive Stories feature. In NCAA 14, Brad and Kirk will recognize patterns as the game progresses and comment on them as a banner is shown on screen. These moments precede key drives, and mimic real broadcasts where the commentary team would take a step away from the action and sum up how the game is playing out.

ncaa-football-presentation-6.jpg

Anyone who has watched college football knows that when a National or Conference leader is playing in a game, the broadcast will place the spotlight on them. In NCAA Football 14, if a user-controlled team or the opposition has one of these Key Players, Brad and Kirk will introduce the player and talk about his importance, and then track his performance throughout. How is he playing in relation to his team? Does he rebound from a slow start? Does a Key QB’s run game steal the show? Is the player falling apart as his team struggles? These are just some of the many storylines available this year.

There are also special storylines in store for the most dedicated Dynasty gamers. Some won’t become available until at least your 2nd year as a coach, while others take much more time to unlock.

ncaa-football-presentation-7.jpg

The ESPN Living Game Clock, which provides quick-hitting stats on previous plays, player stats, game stats, play selection and more, is just one more piece that heightens immersion and makes the game feel truer to an actual ESPN broadcast.

We can announce that NCAA Football 14 will feature a halftime show with Rece Davis and David Pollack. The duo will recap your game, call out highlights and set up the second half with a combination of thoughtful insight and witty banter.

David Pollack’s experience on the defensive side of the ball, along with his natural chemistry with Rece Davis on air, results in a compelling halftime show. The insightful banter back and forth creates naturally flowing, authentic commentary.

And last but not least, we’re excited to announce that “Zombie Nation” and “Seven Nation Army” are in NCAA 14, two of the most widely-used stadium anthems in the country. And yes, you’ll hear the crowd chanting, just like they do in real life. More info is on the way, so make sure you read the site regularly.

There’s a ton of other features that will be announced shortly, each making NCAA Football 14 look, and feel, like nothing you’ve ever played before. Check back in the coming days and weeks for even more details on all the improvements to presentation.

NCAA Football 14 Ultimate Team

If you’ve been playing EA SPORTS games over the years, you’ve likely gotten hooked on Ultimate Team mode in Madden NFL, FIFA or NHL. Well now you can get the same experience in NCAA Football 14. Let’s take a quick tour of the mode so you’re ready to create your own Ultimate Team on July 9.

ncaa-football-14-ultimate-team-1.jpg

WAKE UP THE ECHOES

The very first thing you’ll do after firing up NCAA Football 14 Ultimate Team is pick your school to get your base team. This determines your initial playbooks, as well as home and away uniforms, so choose wisely. You’ll get enough players in your initial pack to fill out your roster, and you might even receive one of the school's all-time greats.

ncaa-football-14-ultimate-team-2.jpg

Once you get underway, it won’t be long until you accumulate enough coins to start buying new packs and adding players to your team. Imagine a Tennessee team where Peyton Manning could throw the ball to Donte’ Stallworth, Jason Witten, or Cordarrelle Patterson, while also having the option to hand the ball off to Arian Foster. Or how about teaming up Dennis Dixon and LaMichael James at Oregon for an unstoppable option attack? With more than 1,400 former college players to choose from, the combinations of talent are nearly endless.

ncaa-football-14-ultimate-team-3.jpg

PLAY ALONE OR TAKE ON THE WORLD

NCAA Football Ultimate Team has a little something for everyone, allowing gamers to either play against the CPU in Solo Challenges, or against the community in the new Head-to-Head Seasons mode. Solo Challenges are a great way to learn the ropes and earn some cool rewards along the way, and some of them have special unlock requirements that encourages player to keep collecting and improving their team.

ncaa-football-14-ultimate-team-4.jpg

Head-to-Head Seasons puts a new twist on traditional online play. Players will compete in 10-game seasons and advance up eight tiers of opponents. Winning games during the season will give you a higher seed come playoff time. Emerge as the tournament champion to reap the most valuable rewards.

ncaa-football-14-ultimate-team-5.jpg

BUILDING A POWERHOUSE

One of the most addictive features in Ultimate Team is Collections, which reward devoted fans with big coin payouts, exclusive packs, special-edition player profiles and more. Every Collection will show exactly what you need in order to complete it, and new Collections will be available throughout the year. Also, be sure to look for special edition packs around rivalry games, bowl games and other major college football events for your chance to score some rare stuff.

So how are you going to keep your team straight? The powerful and user-friendly team manager makes things simple. Easily browse through your roster and select the perfect lineup for any situation, or simply select Choose Best Lineup and let the CPU handle it for you. The interface is designed to let you get in, make changes, and then get back on the field.

You can also put players up for auction if they’re just sitting on the bench, or if you need the coins. Set the starting price and then sit back and watch the bidding wars begin. Or, if you’re in the market for a new player, run a quick search to find exactly what you need to get your team over the top. If you’re not the bidding type, find a Buy Now sale to cut to the chase.

This is just a small glimpse of what you can expect in NCAA Football Ultimate Team, and we’ll be diving into some insight from the development team on the process of signing players for the mode.

NCAA Football will be available on Tuesday, July 9, for Xbox 360 and PS3, and fans can learn more at the NCAA Football website. Pre-order today to receive exclusive Conference Packs.
They will be taking the route I thought they would and will feature former players for the Ultimate Team mode, which is a really cool thing to see. This is a much better use of former players than the dumb Heisman mode from last year's game.

The ultimate team with past players sounds cool, something i've always wanted in NCAA football games. I'm a big ultimate team fan on FIFA, tried it on Madden and didn't really care for it. Maybe i'll pick this up for that if it ends up being pretty good

seems like EA has done alot of work on ncaa and madden this year pretty shocked about that but happy at same time. i see no need to wait to buy madden on a next gen system seeing ncaa is not on them till next summer and would suck with no draft class.

Although I won't get this year's game, I can say with confidence that I'll be buying NCAA 15. The reason? My school finally made the jump from FCS to FBS and will be playing in the Sun Belt in 2014. I'm pumped to finally have them properly represented in an NCAA game again.

some times it takes EA a year or 2 to get new fbs teams in the game just a warning.

They should have plenty of time to prepare for it. It would be incredibly lazy of them to have an inaccurate Sun Belt with over a year's notice. I realize this is EA we're talking about...but God damn, lol.

ncaa-14-dynasty-1.jpg

Dynasty mode in NCAA Football 14 offers several new features that should excite any would-be head coach. All-new Coach Skills allow you to focus on the traits you believe are most important for a coach both on and off the field, while Power Recruiting streamlines the process for scouting and signing players without sacrificing depth.

Furthermore, presentation enhancements tell the story of your Dynasty with more detail than ever before. Players can also once again export their NCAA Football 14 Draft Class into Madden NFL 25, allowing your players to continue their journey into the NFL.

Here’s a look at what makes this year’s Dynasty the best yet.

ncaa-14-dynasty-2.jpg

A GREAT TEAM STARTS WITH A GREAT COACH

College football coaches have to devise on-field strategy as well as recruit, star elite prospects to join the team.

ncaa-14-dynasty-3.jpg

This year introduces a new wrinkle in the form of Coach Skills, which allows coaches to excel in specific areas. There are 18 upgradeable, multi-level skills spread across two skill trees for head coaches, as well as separate skill trees for offensive and defensive coordinators. Altogether, there are 36 upgradeable skills.

ncaa-14-dynasty-4.jpg

Here’s an example: if you know which players you want and would like to sign them with minimal fuss, you can invest in Insta-Commit. This higher-level skill takes a while to unlock, but it’s a must-have for anyone who spends a substantial amount of time recruiting players. This skill provides a 5% chance of instant commitment when you offer a scholarship, and goes up to 10% and 20% over the next two levels. Insta-Commit allows coaches to spend more resources on those guys who are playing hard-to-get.

Conversely, if you’re more interested in on-field bonuses, you may want to upgrade a skill like Clutch, which helps your team out in close games. This is a high-level skill that isn’t available right away, but it’s worth strong consideration once it unlocks. At its first level, Clutch will let your team start off the fourth quarter HOT if the score is within 14 points. At the next level your team stays HOT throughout the entire quarter, and when maxed out your players get VERY HOT in the final two minutes (and overtime) if the score differential is within a touchdown. The HOT and VERY HOT descriptors are dynamic ratings adjustments, so you’ll see your team perform well above their normal skills as long as they’re in those states.

ncaa-14-dynasty-5.jpg

Coach Skills are also available for offensive and defensive coordinators, each of which gets nine upgradeable skills.. These skills will assist in certain areas on one side of the ball, such as improving blocking or enhancing zone or man coverage.

ncaa-14-dynasty-6.jpg

A LEAN, MEAN RECRUITING MACHINE

This year, NCAA Football 14 introduces Power Recruiting, which streamlines the process of scouting and recruiting players without sacrificing the depth fans have come to expect. Rather than using phone calls and pitches to try and sign players, Power Recruiting allows coaches to assign a set number of points to each recruit on a week-to-week basis. If you see a player you want, set your board so that you spend the maximum number of points available each week to win him over. Once you feel a commitment is imminent, move some of those points over to a different player who needs a bit of extra persuading. Power Recruiting makes it easy to efficiently adjust your focus and put the perfect amount of energy into signing the players your team needs most.

ncaa-14-dynasty-7.jpg

Dynamic Pitch Grades return this year, but with benefits measured in a slightly different way. Now you’ll be able to see which factors are most important to a given recruit, and you’ll be granted bonus points based on how your school measures up. Players enamored with your program are easier to reel in without having to expend precious resources.

ncaa-14-dynasty-8.jpg

Power Recruiting also plays a role in deciding when to offer scholarships or schedule campus visits, so there’s an added layer of strategy when planning your moves. Power Recruiting will be further detailed in another article devoted solely to the sweet science of snagging those highly-coveted players.

ncaa-14-dynasty-9.jpg

Offseason recruiting has been streamlined into one stage, which creates a quicker, more intense experience. This is your last chance to make a play for those undecided prospects, and your ultimate opportunity to go all-in on that player (or players) your team desperately needs. For more on Power Recruiting, be sure to check out the blog that lays out all the details.

TELLING YOUR STORY

In addition to all these new features, presentation upgrades will help make your league feel more alive.. Right from the outset, loading screens give info on stats and standings, and pregame commentary will sometimes center on your team’s position in the college football. Studio Updates with Rece Davis have returned, and have been tuned to be particularly relevant to your team. Are conference rivals squaring off at the same time as your game? Is a team close to you in the standings trailing late in the game? Hear all about it from Rece. Not only do the updates relate more directly to your team, but they’re also designed to appear during natural breaks in the action, such as after a kickoff or change of possession.

ncaa-14-dynasty-11.jpg

Neutral site games have been added to Dynasty mode this year, so all games for the 2013 season are scheduled at their correct location. Furthermore, you can set up neutral site contests of your own with Custom Schedules, and even put your team in one of the season-opening Kickoff games if you wish. You can also schedule both conference matchups and non-conference contests at neutral sites.

This year has been one of big changes for the NCAA Football franchise, and that goes double for Dynasty mode. Coach Skills and Power Recruiting put great new spins on this classic mode, all while making the experience faster and more intuitive. Whether you prefer to take over a powerhouse program and extend their dominance or build up a small school from scratch to national acclaim, Dynasty in NCAA Football 14 lets you build your team your way.

This is just a small glimpse of what you can expect in NCAA Football Dynasty Mode, and we’ll be diving into additional insight on the all-new Coach Skills feature.

I really want to buy this for the ulitmate team cause i feel like ity can be alot of funl. but i need more info on it, players and how its gonna get played and even some screen shots. hopefully soon so i can make my decision and still get pre-order credit

Anyone recall if these are up on games on demand when they are released?  This version looks like it might be the best this gen and I'm definitely interested in getting it.  Downloading it the night it comes out seems much better than going out at midnight to pick it up.

This answer my question... but now I like to know if it'll import over to the Xbox ONE MADDEN. As I'll pick up the X360 version first but when Xbox ONE version comes out. Do you think NCAA draft class will be able to import over?

how would they import over? when you import draft class it makes a draft class save file on your hard drive

The tutorials seem pretty good. It's helping me understand the option stuff a lot better.
yeah same here i learned alot playing this thing

I played the demo....enjoyed it.  I love the new inside option pitch....nice addition.  Although, with XB1/PS4 around the corner, not sure I will buy this.  I think I will eventually sell my current gen systems and my backlog is large enough to last until November.

Can't believe I'm excited about this game again, but I am :)

I had a lot of fun with the online dynasty last season. Too bad it's not as popular as Madden is here.

I notice that different stores are offering different conference packs when pre-ordering NCAA 14.  Where are you guys getting the games from?  I live in the North West and cheers for the Pac-12 so I likely will pre-order from Amazon.  But every time I play... I normally stick with SEC conference which means I have to pre-order from Gamestop.  I hate GS!!!! I'm a BestBuy shopper due to RZ points but don't really want Big 10 conference.  What should I do?

Do you think CAGs are willing to trade the pre-order codes?

They're for Ultimate Team mode, where you assemble of team of randomly-drawn players in a card-style fashion to play single-player or online games. There's more info on that mode here.

From what I heard, its Friday
Cool. I'll check it out to make final use of my Season Ticket. I'm definitely not renewing it, and I don't plan on buying this game either. But I'm going to get my money's worth, lol. :)

Season Ticket preview went live at 1 PM EST in case anyone is curious. Of course the servers must be getting hammered. It's a 6.72 GB file, I've been downloading for about 3 hours, and I'm at 78%...and i have a 20MB connection. Really glad this is my last interaction with Season Ticket, as it's really just not worth the trouble.
