Netflix Streaming Thread 2.0
DSfucking9, finally. Time to watch Far Beyond the Stars, best DS9 episode IMO.
that was the one with nog dealing with ptsd right?
that was the one with nog dealing with ptsd right?
No, it was the one where Sisko is having a vision about being back in the early 20th century as a sci-fi writer. Dealt with race a lot, was also the one and only time the word $$$$er was used in Star Trek.
Would it be reasonable for me to watch DS9 without ever seeing an episode of star trek and only seeing the new movie?
yeah.

If you're a Whose Line fan, Colin & Brad: Two Man Group is on Netflix and has one of their improv shows that is a great two man version of the stuff they did on Whose Line.

If you've never seen ANY Star Trek, I would personally suggest starting with the original series (also streaming) or if you don't care for that, The Next Generation - all the other modern Star Trek shows are more or less offshoots of TNG anyway.
all this hoorah about The Wonder years.... But Season 5 of Psych is up...
:applause:Been waiting for this for months. Already watched the first two episodes. Hoping to catch up by...... October 12 :hot:

Watching the DS9 episode Past Tense. I didn't like this episode back when it aired, but it's so much more significant now.
They just added season 3
Hell yes. I watched Seasons 1 and 2 over the summer - AWESOME show and I'm so glad they put Season 3 up (which I've read is supposed to be the funniest season yet).

Watched the first episode of Highschool of the Dead and couldn't help but laugh at how over the top the boobs and panty shots were. Watched the 2nd one as I was waiting for dinner to finish cooking and now I'm hooked. Boobs and panties are still silly, but I'm actually enjoying the show to a certain extent. Though I do feel somewhat wrong for watching it.

On a sort of related tangent. I can't recall what the rules are for child porn, but isn't it still wrong if someone is over 18 and isn't just "acting young" but is actually cast as a role of a person who is under the age of 18 is having sex on screen? I ended up in a weird philosophical debate over this after watching one of those 80's throwback movies where teenagers doff their clothing.

I was about to make this same exact post! I only watched the first episode and was debating watching any more, just due to the excessive giant, bouncing boobs on girls that look like they're 10 years old, as well as the tons of panty shots. Are those really what their audience wants to see? Surely pedophiles aren't a big demographic? I like the premise of the story and the animation (other than the boob "physics"), but I just felt a bit creepy watching it.

You don't know much about Japan, do you?

Yeah but they have whole other animes more dedicated to that kind of thing, I thought. Didn't expect it so blatantly in a "regular" anime. I have to admit (in case you couldn't tell), this is the first anime I have tried to watch, though.

Pretty standard fare for anime. It isn't exactly a highbrow form of entertainment, despite what a thousand weeaboos across the internet will try and tell you.
There are a lot of anime that don't have the excessive amount of fan service High School of the dead has.
Ah, I see. That's what I was hoping and assuming.

OK...so I'm not a fan of Anime, so I know very little about it. Could anyone suggest some netflix streaming titles that are big robo? Like Transformers, or Macross?

Older anime is so much better than the stuff they put out now. I used to love Robotech/Macross, Ronin Warriors, Akira etc. This stuff now just sucks.

I wonder how much of the music has been changed in the Malcolm in the Middle episodes, considering that's what has kept all the seasons from being released on DVD.

Has Starz already started pulling their content from the streaming service? There's a new show called "Boss" that's disc-only. I thought Netflix got Starz stuff straight to the streaming (like they did with "Spartacus")?

I have that "High School of the Dead" in my queue, too. Perhaps I'll start watching this week.

Anyone still pissed about the price increase and the service?

Now they have the rights to Walking Dead and are going after new episodes of Reno 911! as well currently being in a bidding war for Arrested Development's new episodes.

Lots of people ran away and there keep popping up new reasons to come back.

I don't think so; Tron Legacy is available right now and its Starz.

never bothered me i didnt get into netflix until all this started and i only wanted streaming so no biggie. 7.99 is a great deal for the stuff they offer.

In my opinion, Netflix was a bargain at the old price and it's still a bargain now for what I get out of it compared to what I would pay to see the same things through any other legal channels.

The contract Netflix has with Starz doesn't expire until February, though earlier in the year, they changed it so all new content would be delayed 90 days.

fraggle rock ( the puppet show not the cartoon) is on netflix now as is that shitastic garbage pail kids movie. so you can enjoy the gratness of fraggle rock while reliving the utter dissappointment and letdown of the garbage pail kids film. shit demonic toys and ghoulies is added too.
Walking Dead is up
Good to know cause my wife loves this show but didn't get a chance to see all the episodes.

Just saw that Silmido is on there. This is an awesome Korean action/drama. Very good film I saw a few years ago. Check it out.

It's the true story of South Korean death row prisoners who's deaths were faked so they could be trained to try and assassinate the North Korean president back in the 60's.

still refuse to go back till the prices drop or thier selection becomes worth it to me. Thank goodness they didnt go through with this stupid split they were planning.

Then you are never coming back.

The prices are as low as they can get them and if you dont think the million plus movies and tv shows they have now are worth it than there is probably no way for them to appease you.

Yeah, I don't see prices ever going down. Selection may improve as time goes on and studios maybe get more willing to put newer movies up etc.

Or it may not if the studios don't change and want to keep making more money from on demand and DVD/BR sales.
