New Battlefield Clan Topic - WE NEED SOME MORE PEOPLE!!

I have the beta drivers. I think there is a complete beta package you can install, and unlike the other releases , it actually installed and worked

I have not had any problems with them

Well, I updated the sound/graphics card drivers again. I wanted to try the Beta Audigy drivers, but it kept saying I didn't have the proper hardware, which I do (Audigy 2). I also downloaded the EAX 4.0 drivers from a year ago, which was needed before installing the latest driver. Installed the EAX, tried the full driver on top and I get the same, "no supported hardware detected" message. Blah.

The Catalyst update was smoother, but I had to remove the Catalyst Control Panel program as there was an error everytime my PC started up leading back to that program.

Why in the hell can't driver updates be more seamless and hassle-free?

Anyway, I'm trying out BF2 in a few and hopefully it's a little more stable though I'm not getting my hopes up.
That was the problem I was having with the prior driver releases. Creative has a really shitty downloads section
Indeed. Got a few BF2 games in earlier this evening. My global points were at an astounding 2!!!!

Unlocked the Spec Ops Basic Combat Badge for about the 20th time. Logging on and playing a few games to see if it actually registered.

Awww...hell no, Battlefield 2!!!! You did not just do that AGAIN.

Great round going on Wake...hopped in a chopper and got some flag caps. Destroyed a few artillery batteries. Shot up a few of them. Even decapitated a sniper with my knife. Round score: 55.

So the next map loads, I'm looking at my stats (which, to my surprise, showed I lead the top USMC Squad) when...the game crashes.

At least I got the Basic Spec Ops Combat Badge again.

I get sporadic crashes too. Some cause sounds to repeat forever and my computer freezes, while others just exit BF2 in a flash.

I dunno if I'll ever get the Sniper awards, or the explosives one either. They take a lot of focus, and I'd rather switch to different kits when the moment arises. I've become a pretty big grenade launcher whore nowadays...
Got Catalyst 5.9, but I'm updating the sound card drivers as well. Could the Audigy 2 line's driver updates be any more confusing? You'd think newer drivers would contain improvements from previous ones, but it looks like I'll have to install drivers released in '03 on top of the newest one. BTW, anyone else on an Audigy 2? What drivers you have on there? There's a newer Beta release that came out last month, but I'm not sure I wanna go with that one.
I have an Audigy 2. Meh, overrated... I agree, completely weak driver support. Nect PC I'll either stick with on-board audio, or find some alternative to Creative...not sure who competes with them though.. Also, I cannot get the in-game VIOP to work at all - you have any luck?

Finally, read: http://www.tweakguides.com/BF2_6.html

P.S. I was in NM for the last few days and went to this: http://www.aibf.org/Webcams/camview.php?gal=webcam1&year=2005&day=8&hour=08

The in-game voice is really low no matter what settings I use. The one time I used TeamSpeak it was really clear though and I think that's what everyone here uses.

I'm gonna try the Beta Patch again and see if that improves things, but I'll likely get the "Audigy card not found" error crap like last time. The support for it totally sucks.

Anyway, anyone got a good server they play in? The last few I've played were so laggy I could barely get a bullet on someone. Ended up with 5 points or less if I was lucky, which was aggravating when I'm so close to getting the first rank upgrade (months after release mind you...I rock). I prefer the 32 player servers at the most unless the playability of the 64 player ones has improved.

i wouldnt mind playin, my clan has been slackin lately and we dont play matches anymore, so I am down to play. Ive got a fairly long battlefield history, played alot of bf1942 and clan matches, and played a little tooo much BF2, hoping to play less pubbin and a little more matches. Here is my stats if you wanna look http://bf2s.com/player/-=2ad=-cps/
Ill whoop ass as any class pretty much, but AT has been shining for me lately.

AIM:coolcps
Xfire:coolcps
CAG Username:coolcps
BF2 Username:whistle2:=2ad=-cps

hope to play with some of you soon!

I have a test tomorrow so I cannot play, but later in the week I would probably be up for a game. Kind of burnt myself out with all the playing I have done over the past few weeks (reason I have not been playing)
that balloon fest looks pretty awesome.
Actually, it was pretty cool!

I'm psyched - I just hooked up a new Antec 550 Watt PS and my X800 XT AIW is back from repair from ATI.

Time for BF2 goodness....mmm.... and more FEAR demo.... *drool*
hmmmmm tonight anyone ?
I'm down for a game tonight. I'll sign onto xfire when I get home from work so just let me know when you want to play.

Anyone playing tonight or this weekend? I would really like to get a decent game going. I want to try and get some more medals and ribbons, and also try to rank up since I am fairly close. I might sign into teamspeak and stay in there so if anyone wants to play you're welcome to join me.
anyone else picking up fear?
Seriously thinking about it (after I said I'm not going to buy any more PC games), but the thought of that girl roaming around in-game freaks me out.

I might pick it up. Only thing is I dont know if my computer can handle it. Heard a lot of people say that they downloaded the demo and they have decent computers and it ran like crap on it.

Also, I dont talk much cause my mircophone is kinda far away from my keyboard so I have to lean in each time I want to talk. It would also be nice if Teamspeak would show you who's talking because I couldnt tell if it was Deadpool or yourself talking.

Demo and full release versions of F.E.A.R feature very different coding as far as optimizations go, it runs alot better in the retail release.

I'm trying to save money, but i might end up getting it at frys.

It ran pretty good on my system... but mine is a bit more than average.

Also, TS (as a progam) does show who is speaking - the little button in front of the name turns green. Only problem is that this is of no value when you're actually playing a game.

Ever think about getting a headset. I think it's well worth the money if you're into online gaming...

you guys got room for 1 more? I need a reason to play BF2 again. I stopped playing because well damn GUI lags so much cant even refresh servers.

the more the merrier.

besides, we arent a "clan" in the conventional sense. more just a bunch of people who occasionally play together.

make sure you have xfire and teamspeak loaded up. casey can hook you up on the TS server info.

I'll try to get on tonight :)

I'm slowly getting back into it after an extended vacation to prevent me from overdosing on it.
I learned a good tactic tonight from my teammates if anyone is interested or hasn't come across it yet.
I'm always the last one to find stuff out! :p

As a squad leader, right before you hit the cp to take it over hop out of the vehicle short of it and hide very close but in good cover near the cp. That way your teammates can respawn on you and be near the cp or target for faster overthrow.
It worked really well when the SL could stay alive and hidden. Then when its taken over the driver comes and picks up the SL and off to the next target!

As an aside, does anyone else get dropped or crash more frequently after the 1.3 patch? Never had that problem till I upgraded :(

Hope to run into you guys ( but not kill you ;P) again soon!

Sorry to have been slacking FEAR came out and I am still kind of into that game a lot. Probably Tuesday I would be up for a game if you guys are.

I did have a few matches where when I tried to jump from a transport chopper (as pilot), I'd constantly (at least twice in a row I remember) kill myself. Somehow the chopper would run into me in mid-air I guess, and that just blew. I was Spec Ops and trying to dive behind a tank to blow it up, and instead I guess as I jumped, the chopper was still barreling forward and would hit me before I could get below it....? Or something...Also happened when diving as a passenger from a chopper.

I wonder if the time it takes to get into a game will ever be less that like 10 minutes >_

I am very underwhelmed with FEAR...
I am very underwhelmed with FEAR...
really? I think its the best game of the year so far (as far as a single player experience goes) . The firefights were just so awesome and I thought the story was fairly good as well. Blowing people completely apart, severing their torsos and limbs for me was just awesome. I also loved the dialogue of the enemy. It really makes them feel like they are real people. You know when you hear "fuck" that they seeem to mean it.

what interval are you at? I think 4 and 5 are really really good, as are the last two intervals (10 and 11)

For the record though, I have loved just about every game Monolith has put out.

EDIT: If anyone is up for Battlefield send me an in game message on Xfire

I've played maybe 45 min of the game. Maybe it gets better, but right now it is reminding me of a level in Kingpin with Max Payne slow mo and HL2 physics.

I will play more, because I loved the demo...

I FINALLY got a router-thingy, so I can have my DSL hooked up to my computer and Xbox at the same time. If you guys ever want to play while I'm online, just shoot me an invite or a message on Xfire. I'm ready to plaaaaay.
http://bf2.worldtournament.net/

Any chance you guys would be interested in trying this out?

Although I doubt we have 8 players to make the req. on the team.
I would be interested, but we would need some good pilots and would have to do some practicing. Especially since the maps up first are some of my weakest.

It'd be fun to try, but yeah, good luck finding 8 people to rely on (me included :whistle2:#..I'd love to, but I admit I am not reliable all the time). On a somewhat related note, have there been any successful CAG game tourney's (either organised here, or where people from here played in a tourney like this one)? I can imagine if there haven't been any, since if you don't see the people and know them well, it's hard to organise times and all that.
