STop Picky about $10 games. all of them still cheap compare to Sears, Kmart, Target and Bestbuy. Esspecially, Gamestop & Ebgames they still sell Pre-owned copy over $10 each.
It's not that they are $10, it's that alot of these games have been on sale before, and most likely will be on sale again.

I want to pick up a few things, but if I miss out, I know they will be 10-15 other places before long.

If the PM's work, then they'll be $8-9 games, which makes them better.
Just so you know.....I have Samurai Warriors and Baten Kaitos up for trade, both new and sealed. If you can't get them Sunday, let me know and maybe we can work something out.
As a side note, Samurai Warriors can be purchased at Meijer, right now, for 9.99.

just got back from CC got:

ridge racer(DS)
baten kaitos(GC)
spiderman 2(xbox)
project snowblind(xbox)
bloodrayne 2(xbox)
Robotech Invasion(xbox)
SNK vs Capcom(xbox)

My CC has multiples of all these titles except Baten Kaitos. I could not find POP 2 for GC. If anyone can't find something I just picked up, I can go and get them a duplicate for trade for your POP 2. It also suxx that the only title I got that is part of the price grabber is Ridge Racer. I've never used the pricegrabber can anyone give me tips on how it works. Do you get a check in the mail? How long does the check take to arrive?

How can things not go right Sunday/Monday?

Just buy the games you want (Unless they are storing the games in the backroom like my CC), and don't open them.

Come Sunday, 'return' them at the price you paid for 'em, and buy them right back, while still at the counter.

If these refuse, just return 'em. Or hold on and call customer service. I know one guy got a call from a CC manager; but that's a very unlikely event for most of us.

Fireworks and Cheapassgames- that's American!

isnt there a thread like ON THE FIRST PAGE OF THE TOPIC LIST that talks about pricegrabber rebates. you cag's who keep asking about how to do the rebates, you can be cheap, but we (or maybe just _I_) don't warrant laziness...

pricegrabber:
1) go to the site and sign up
2) write a review for a page that has that $5 bonus thing
3) make a copy of your upc and receipt
4) print out the form you download from the pricegrabber site
5) fill it out
6) send it all out
7) according to others it takes 2 months or so to get the check

*) there is no "lump sum" way... u get separate 5 dollar checks. apparently you can send them all in one envelope though.

all this info i got just from reading other posts... i personally have never done them before.
As a side note, Samurai Warriors can be purchased at Meijer, right now, for 9.99.
I do not have a Meijer near where I live. In fact I am sure of this because I have never heard of Meijer before.
After further review of the list of $10 games I can honestly say.... Worst. Summer sale. EVER! :) There's only a couple of games worth owning on the list and $10 sure as hell isn't $5. What's the fuss?
I agree for the most part, but Project Snowblind and POP 2 make this deal worth it to me. R63 with the headset is a good deal, along with THUG 2 and Baten Kaitos. I know I am forgetting some

That's nice, but it doesn't change the fact that that information can very easily be useful for someone else. I'm not exactly sure what your point was in posting this.

Also TRU has it on clearance also, it varies but some people have bought it for under $9.99.

This thread is depressing. Over half the people already bought the shit. I'm going to be pissed if there are no Ridge Racer's left.

If you haven't bought it, you don't really want it.
If you're going to get pissed about things disappearing on you, you really don't have the proper temprement to be hunting down cheapass games. It's par for the course, and to be expected. The healthiest way to approach these is to make a list of games you would like, and look for those. If you happen to find one, great. If not, oh well.

Getting pissed over it is a wasted emotion, and the whining that it causes after people come back never really bodes well for the future of the topic.

People have the right, and should, however to be pissed about hoarders. Not quite the same situation, but rolling over and taking it up the rear on anything is wrong. Especially since it sounds like he rather wants the game versus those who make it sound like it's trade fodder.

When I hear someone bragging about picking up 10 copies of Ridge Racer soley to sell it on ebay, then I'll agree with you. Otherwise, it's just sour grapes.

If you REALLY want something, you either pay full price, plan things out, or take a more relaxed stance. So far, no one has given the impression of being hoarders (so far as I have seen). To whine about hoarders is fruitless... if they got the games, they just played the scenario off better than you did. No one owes you cheap games.

I'm sorry, but I've seen it on just about every one of these big clearances now.
I'm happy for people when they find all the games they want, but I don't really want to hear people bitching about how they couldn't find every single game on the list they wanted, and then blame ebay scalpers, hoarders and fatwallet...
even when they don't know what the stores even had to begin with.

Some people are being rather smart and proactive about this sale, and if you can afford to do that, that's the best way to ensure that you get what you want.
Otherwise, you take your chances.

Sob stories tend to lose thier sheen after you've heard them for the 100+ time.

hehehehe hoarders

i hope theres a bunch of people pissed off at these "hoarders" this year too, because that shit was funny last year.

its such a waste of effort getting upset over missing a deal, entertaining though ^^

If I find that guy on eBay that keeps buying all of the GCN component cables, I'm kicking him in the nuts several times.

I don't get pissed, I just go a little mental occasionally. :D

This is the best way to do it.

If you really want a game, buy it now. Hell, even if you don't have the $20 difference, just borrow it off someone, because you can just pay them back on Sunday.
I don't have the kind of dough to go buy 4 $30 games and 4 $20 ones.
And others (like myself) have a GC and only want one of the games...that they've already pulled.

i dunno, i think we had the same stance from 2 different perspectives.

we were both saying that the phantom "hoarder" dosent really exist, and that people dont have some god given right to get in on every deal, but you seemed to be more trying to get people to understand the point, where i was trying to get them to do just the opposite, and make a scene, for my entertainment

Uh where is he getting them from? Just keeps buying out Nintendo.com's stock?

my god, do you want me to give you the money or something?

theres an unwritten rule about buying things, if you cant afford it you dont buy it!

Yup

HOLY CRAP, it's in stock. Wonder if it will stay long enough to get my CC...

I can afford them...when they are $10. And I suppose I'm following the unwritten rule because I didn't buy jack shit.

Use a credit card

Credit cards= bad if you aren't responsible. And not much better if you are.

And I don't mean to come off as pissed, but talking about my former company in another thread brought back bad memories.

I always find it amusing when CAGers talk smack about FatWallet, because CAG is every bit as guilty as what FatWallet supposedly does. Pot, meet kettle.

Anyway, I'll drop down to CC on Sunday and see what I can pick up. Most likely nothing since I've never had any luck in these clearances. But oh well, it's like an adventure, and the bike ride there will be a workout ;)

That sucks, I need to get off my ass and get some component cables too. Well Liksang or Playasia always has them

While that's true by and large, it's a tad bit more acceptable for people on fatwallet to talk about how they turned a huge profit. Of course, after reading the Gamerush thread for a few months, I really can't say that people on CAG aren't doing the same thing. Its somewhat of a societal norm, and back with the earlier clearence, there was a certain community feel that permeated here (people were trying to help each other find the games they wanted, at cost+shipping), whereas people on fatwallet were trying to sell them at higher prices and bragging about the killings they made on ebay.

Unfortunately, as CAG keeps growing, some of the newer users are tainting that feel somewhat... for instance, hassling Shrike. Shrike was on of the major reasons most CAGs got exactly the games they wanted out of the 5 dollar clearence. If not for organizing the trade threads, and outlaying a fairly large amount of cash to send people games, the deal wouldn't have been near as successful for most CAGs. People are just getting a bit more selfish and/or greedy about this. (whining about hoarders and how you can't get the games is selfish)

Step away from yourself and look at what you're posting.
Even if you don't get these games now, its not like they disappear from the face of the earth. Most people have either gone out and made thier purchases, or they talk optimistically about perhaps finding a copy or two of a game on Sunday.

From your postings, you seem to want the benefits of both.... getting all the games you want, but not having to outlay the extra cash.

It's one of those situations where you can only have it one way... and complaining about it to frequently will just cause it to grate on people's nerves.

I ordered mine weeks ago and it shipped like Friday. Woot.

Well, my assistance in finding CAGs games didn't happen during the July $5 CC (I was still clueless CAG n00b around here at the time) sale from last year, though it did happen in the "accidental" 2 for $10 sale that happened during December, plus:

2 for $30 R&C: UYA (29 copies into the hands of CAGs)
Numerous K-Mart Blue Light sales (dozens of games to CAGs)
FFXI w/HD from CC Red Dot sale(7 or 8 copies into the hands of CAGs)
$19.99 MGS3:SE from KMart.com (5 copies into the hands of CAGs)
Random sales here and there through the months, including the BB GGC screw-up at the beginning of 2005

Though, if you wanted to come down and go to the minutest detail, since I'm buying more than one copy of a game, you could call me a hoarder. Though, if you want to call me a hoarder, you'll have to nail me down for selling them for cost + tax + shipping, so I'd love to know where my profit's ended up. :whistle2:s

Yes, I buy multiple games to get to CAGs. Yes, I do it on the request of users, as well as to pick up games CAGs are most likely going to want. Yes, I sell them at net zero profit for me, about 95% of the time. Yes, I have and do pick up games for CAGs who ask me to get 'em.

Though, yes, as it stands, I've picked up games from numerous sales for the benefit of CAGs. Anyone want to decry my name and call me a hoarder or any such nasty titles, go right ahead, I have a PM box ready for the commentary. For the others I've helped, feel free to offer up your opinion on my "hoarding".

Oh, and this time around, look up a couple of pages to see what I picked up Saturday morning for myself. I also picked up four games for three other CAGs I knew were looking for them, plus three different CAGs who asked me after the fact to pick them up games. Which I'll try to do Sunday morning, if I can, and if not, then there's not much I can do.

And yes, Sweeney, thanks for the words to my defense I didn't know I needed.
