Kinda sucks. The policy's been there but it hasn't been followed lately. Found out that HQ is crackin' down.. tried to trade some Overstock games for the extra $10 towards Halo 2, could only trade one of each.. and they're now taking license numbers.. so.. yeah, it's like the gaming government or something now. Kinda sucks. You can come back the next day and trade the rest, obviously, but apparently it's one copy per person per day. That sucks.
How long does the Halo 2 trade in deal last? I've traded in somethings towards it, but I have more to trade in.
Until 11/8. They tried to tell me it was over, but I pulled out the flyer.

damn eb is getting all pissy just cuz they get shitty games for the deal. they knew that they would probably get $5 pieces of shit like agressive inline when they started the deal.
Hasn't it always been like that with their trade in deals?
The policy has been there but it's been lax. They're strict on it now.
I’m not surprised. That’s what happens when people abuse deals.
Its not abusing, it's being smart. If you get a better deal then good. This is lame, if they don't like itt then they shouldn't have started.

After looking at their exclusion list (on website), I did see some that weren't on the list that EB was selling for less than $10 used.

one would think that those would automatically be on the exclusion list.

I was thinking about picking a bunch up as there has got to be similar deals like this one for some big games this holiday season.

I think it's a good idea. I just hate how people try to buy multiple copies of games just to make a little profit. I feel you should only buy a game if you are interested in playing it. Now, if it's a game you do not like, then I belive it's fine to trade it in. I bought War of Monsters for $5 at Circuit City. I tried to like it, but it didn't appeal to me much, but then traded it into EB and got $10. Yeah, I made a profit, but I didn't really like the game and it was the only copy I bought.

It's funny, if you try to rip a company off it's smart, if a company tries to rip you off, it's stupid and they should be reported to the BBB for false advertising/bait and switch/etc.

Suspicious! Cracking down on the trade-in deals towards new releases after the EGM with that page on "TRADE-IN TRICKERY" or whatever it was came out. Of course, this is more than likely coincidence...but GMR is EGM's sister mag......*face explodes*

I don't know how many times I have to say this, but once again..

The exclusion list changes from deal to deal and day to day. The thing on the site is not applicable for all deals.. but I think those are automatically excluded from ALL deals.

Don't go by the list on the site.

Great point man. I find it funny how people whine about deals where they took advantage of a company and when it stops it people get all pissed off.
"if they don't like it then they shouldn't have started"-thats the quote of a person who knows nothing about business.
If a business doesnt change the areas they are losing in then they are doomed. If someone kept picking your wallet in the direction you walk to work wouldnt you decide to keep your money at home or walk another way? Or would you keep going that same route just because its what you normally do?

Yeah, you gotta love the "logic" some people here use. I remember when you HAD to buy all games new without trade-ins at all. If you don't like the deal at EB just remember, they didn't have to to offer any in the first place.

Seems like I'm always having to tell the EB workers what deals they have going on currently as well. Probably because they generally have about 200 deals running concurrently.

And as far as abusing the deal. If you go in and ask the employee if you can trade in 2, 3, whatever of the same game and he says that's fine, I really don't see the abuse. Often you can get more on eBay even with the extra dollars for trades promotions, anyway. But if you have some games that won't bring $10 on eBay it's worth a shot.
