Anyone else check if their Gamerushes are gettin the Nintendo DS's early like Gamestop is saying (on 11/15 instead of 11/21)? I called mine and they had no idea what i was talking about.
Ive heard that the DS product is street dated till 11/21
Yeah but it looks like Gamestop has already announced that it will be releasing it around the 16th and I think several other stores might be following so I would love it if BB showed some love and put it out earlier.

These employee's will feed you "crap" and do not not know what the hell they are talking about 99% of time. There is no "exclusion list" and read the fineprint out loud to these assholes. Formats incllude Playstation, Playstation 2...etc. There shoul be a flyer in the store about trading DVD'a back for $5.00. On the back is the deal for the trade 3 PO get 1 Po for $10. Do not let these employee's get away with not honoring these "corporate deals."

I understand what you're saying, and I will push if it's a deal that I really want, but as I have been screwing GameRush over for months now (good-naturedly, of course), I don't want to totally ruin our relationship over saving, say, $12 on Chronicles of Riddick. This is largely because I may need their help someday on another deal.

But, like you imply, this is simply business, and people shouldn't shy away from holding GameRush to its offers if they begin to feel cheated (as opposed to being the cheaters...)

anyone know the trade value 4 catwoman? I was thinking about trying it because of the price, prolly just rent it with my gamers pass though.
it's only $10 new with the Halo coupon book.

Oh yea and how much trade 4 the GTA double pack?

Not sure on the trade in value of cat woman, but the reviews I read indicate it is utter crap. I'd only go for it if you can trade it for a decent value and use it toward a trade 3 get $$ off something else, etc.

I think I recall getting $25 for GTA double pack for X-box a little bit back, but that may have included the extra $5 credit

I'm just gonna pick up the double pack and keep it. I was considering trading it back it using the 3 trade in deals and maybe breaking even but not having to buy another crap game 2 trade.

I agree with you for the most part but if you look at the "trading terms and conditions" it says that a manager ultimately has the right to decline trades at their disgression.

Yep. That fine print is brutal.
Of course, just because the manager has the right to amend the deal at any time doesn't mean you can't ask to talk to thier district manager if you disagree with a change they made from the original policy (of course, most of those changes come from the District Manager).

It's not something I would do, because the deals aren't all that important to me. They're nice to have around, but I'm not going to make life miserable for anyone to eek one more deal out for myself.
hey doubledown, look on the 1st page, 2nd post for the deals. thats where they are.
Somebody knows!

Updated the first post and completely changed some things on it.
Anyone know when GameRush will get in Metroid and Call of Duty? Thanks.
Since Metroid Prime 2 is a big game, they might have it in on Tuesday (11/16/04). If not, they should have it on 11/17/04. I have it preordered at GameRush, so I'll post when my store has it. (I should be going by it on Tuesday.) :)

EDIT- I might have the release dates mixed up. Does it come out on the 15th or 16th? :?

Wshakspeare- Was that you that came in and preordered the DS today at the Commerce Blockbuster? If so, I was the cashier that rang the trade and preorder through for you!

Tomorrow GR may have MP2? Sweet. I'm going out tomorrow, so, I may as well swing by and check! It's the last of my five preorders though. Though I think it comes out on the 16th or 17th... but there's always hope! I need to pick up the player's guide for that, too. I sort of have a collection of Metroid player's guides.

Those being Pikmin 2, THUG 2, Paper Mario 2, and Mario Tennis.

Four of those games are sequels. Odd huh? Though technically Mario Tennis is a sequel to the N64 one...

Either way, I hope it doesn't have that damn "best seller" logo like Mario Tennis and Paper Mario 2!
THe Mesquite TExas Gamerush would not accept my copies of Corvette, Super Truck Racing, or Ford Racing 2 they said we cannpt accept those games. So buying this pack now may be a bad idea.
Sorry for the double post, but, uh, which one? There's more than one...

Sorry if this doesn't belong here, I have a question regarding the trade in 3 games for 1 for $10. How many times can you do it on your account before they start giving you problems. I was being too ambitious one day did two trades of the 3 for 1 on the same day. The employee at the second store was nice and let it through anyways, but he said they usually don't allow it. He urge me to trade in one every couple of weeks.

In general, would my account be frozen if I do these deal too often? There are several fairly new games that I want, but I don't want to wait a couple of weeks (the promotion might end by then).

Thanks for any reply

Don't let them give you crap. I seriously doubt ANY store could ban you for doing trades. I do trades at Hastings (4 for 1 deals) and I talked with this female employee there, asking if I could be "blacklisted" from doing this deal.. she said no, and if any employee threatens me, it's a lie.. so.. yeah, trade your heart out, I doubt they could do anything. What could they do? "You were, uh.. doing a deal that we advertised too much!"

I think officially you are allowed to trade-in up to 20 games per day, and receive up to 2 preowned games from them per day. That's what it says in the fine print of most deals and coupons. However it's a bit confusing how they word it, and some have suggested that it should read 2 games per day, 20 per MONTH. But at this point they've had the same wording for many months they'd have to be real stupid to not correct it by now if it was a mistake.

i have a warning on my account at one of the gamerushes, it was a combination of using too many sweet coupons and trading in too many copies of drake for $27. They figured i must be ripping off the store? Yes it is true i have got over $1200 worth of games for about $50 out of pocket and some shitty psone/ps2 sports titles and trading in new releases that sucked(fable, killzone, battlefront) but i can still trade games in at other gamerushes so it isnt so bad. But if you think you cannot get blacklisted or get a warning on your account, you are wrong.

I have only traded in a total of 6 copies of drake, and used a total of 10 coupons(spread out over the past 4 months at 3 different stores) and that was enough to get banned from trading in games at one store.(i have cut back quite a bit from the other stores as well). But I think it is more YMMV. When i picked up my copy of halo 2, there was some dude in front me who picked up over a dozen copies of halo2(this was at a different store than the one i got banned at) so there are lots of people raping the shit out of these deals worse than me.

But again, if you think "they wont ever ban me from trading games" guess again. Of course, the time i got banned, i was trying to trade in 2 copies of drake at once(the regmonkey went and got the manager), and they banned me on the spot. Of course, this particular gamerush got about 50 copies of drake traded in, heh.

Yep, that was me. I thought it was you when you mentioned only working weekends.
I think I will use my trade-3 get Doom 3 for $20. Anyone know when Doom3 is expected for XBOX yet?
I assume you are talking about the coupon in the Halo 2 coupon book? I was wondering if anyone has used that coupon yet, whether it's reusable, and if there is a limit on that. i.e. if I want to get 2 doom 3, 2 Midnight Club 3 and Star Wars KotOR II, would I be able to do it?

I think with the Trade 3, get one for 10 they changed that to one use of that promo per day. The trade in limitation you mentioned seems to be the one that's in all thier documentation however.

Not sure....I will use it when my Madden from EBgames shows up ;)

I think I only want Doom3.....now, if I could trade 3 in and get any game for $20 each, that would be great.

I don't really want any others though....Midnight Club 3 possibl since Detroit is in the game :)

I used the coupon from the Halo 2 coupons to pick up KOTOR 2 preorder for 19.99

The coupon doesnt have any wording about not being able to trade, say 9 games for 3 preorders, but the CSR didnt let me preorder Doom3 or Splinter Cell 3. They took my coupon too, and voided it, so I need to find another coupon/s.

Hey guys... for what it's worth, I just started working at a GameRush and discovered that each BB store has more independence than I thought. If you blatantly abuse the trade-in deals, the employees probably won't appreciate it as it'll hurt the local store, not just the big BB corporation. I'm not saying not to take advantage of the deals--since they're great--but don't be a jerk about it and rip the manager because he refuses to take 3 Madden 2001s for a deal when there's a whole shelf full of unsold used copies already. He's trying to look out for his store.

As a side note, it's amazing how many people missed the sign about the "trade 3, get a used game for $10" deal. I had three people coming in about to trade in two games; once I told them about the deal, they went back home and got a third game that they didn't want. It feels good to spread the CAG spirit in an occupational capacity. :)

has anyone got to use the trade 3 get a preorder fro 19.99 with the current instore deal when you trade 3 get a PO for 9.99? i think someone in here said that they did it...and i was wondering if that was legit?

You only traded 3 games, you can either get 1) 19.99 preorder or 2)PO for $10. Computer wont register both deals. It would be cool if you got away with it but that is one way to get banned fast.

On the topic of the old Maddens, I spent about a half an hour yesterday at my Gamerush pulling and boxing a couple hundred old sports titles that would no longer fit on the shelves. I'm sure they'll just sit in the back room until Blockbuster finally decides to drop the prices on them to much less than $6.99

I love this i traded in 3 crap ps1 games to get a major league slug fest loaded for ps2 for$10 they gave me $5 for ps1 games. so cost me $5.00 for a game that is marked $35.99 no wonder they lost huge last quarter

Thanks for the reply concerning the repeated use of the trade-in. Being able to get $1200 for $50 out of pocket is amazing. But I was just trying to get enough credit to get another console system. I understand from the store's perspective that they do not want hundreds of old sports games. Perhaps they will start an exclusion list soon.

Lately, I've been more modest, getting the 9.99 non-sports games to get the trade 3 get 1 for 10 deal. I also heard from other forumt that they have the trade 1 and get a new game for 29.99. Can anyone here confirm that?

That gave me an idea, maybe we should go to our ex-gf's blockbuster/gamerush and take advantage of the deals there. :)
Any GR get Metroid Prime 2 yet?
I called mine today and they said Friday. I was hopeing to get in a last minute preorder but they said they have to stop preorders a week ahead of time.

i think that stopping preorders a week before it comes out is YMMV. cuz i was going to preorder metroid today but i decided not to after she put it on my receipt and everything.

SOSTrooper: If my ex-girlfriend worked at GameRush I'd have to quit... couldn't stand even being in the same organization with her, even if she's a thousand miles away now. ;)

newbie2000: I glanced over this week's information early today and didn't see anything about that deal. I'll look over it more carefully tomorrow and let you know.

Well, I have no idea if the Town East Gamerush got in MP2 today, I'll call them tomorrow and see what I can find out.

I tried a new GameRush today in Garland. Pretty good store huge selection of used games many news ones like Larry, Battlefront, Def Jam NY, Pikmin 2, etc.

Much better selection that the dreadful Denton and Mesquite stores.
What's this deal you guys have mentioned about trading in three games and getting a preorder for $19.99? Is this any game? Do I need a coupon?
I know there was a coupon in the Halo2 coupon book. you could preorder only a few games though....it said Midnight Club3, Doom 3, Ghost Recon 2, KOTOR2....I think that's it...maybe more.

You might just want to call your GR. I called mine to see what preorders are good on this promotion and to see what you needed. Mine said any preorders would work and no coupon was needed. Most of the time the GR stores in my area keep a book of bar scans by the register and they just scan those in place of the coupons. As most GR promotions, this will vary by store and region.

Where in Garland is this GR located??
Did you pick up either Larry or Def Jam??

The CSR are now strict at my GR. They said I needed a coupon per preorder trade deal.

Anyone been able to buy game titles that they had previously sold to GR? Somewhere there was mention of not being able to buy titles that were previously traded in. For example I sell them Pikmin 2 and want to buy another Pikmin 2 using their deal. Will the computer not allow me to buy it because it is considered flipping stock?

On the trade 3 PS1 games for a PO for $10 deal, what would be the best way to buy PS1 games using GR credit.

I've traded and purchased the same game without issue, although I did not attempt it on the same day.

I traded in 3 games and got both the 3 for $10 and the preorder deal at the same time. I just traded in the 3 games and handed him the used game, and then gave him my preorder coupon and he did everything from there. I've almost always have been able to get 2 or 3 deals combined from three different GRs. He also said I could preorder any game, but I still placed a preorder on one of the games on that selected list. I may go and change it soon though, because I saw their new preorder list the other day, and Jade Empire is finally on there.
