I just got back from my first trip to Kmart since the incredibly terrible "10-50% off clearance games" ad from 2 weeks ago, and this time there were quite a few unannounced drops. What I saw was:

:ps3:
Bioshock GH $6.99 (previously $9.99)
Front Mission Evolved $9.99 (previously $19.99)
Rock Band Country Pack 2 $4.99 (previously ?)
Dragon Age II $17.99 (previously $19.99)
There were 3-4 other rock band track packs for $4.99 also (previously ?)

:360:
Bayonetta $9.99 (previously $19.99)

:ds:
Glory of Heracles $9.99 (previously $14.99)

If I go again in the next few days, I'll let everyone else know what else went down. Best of luck to everyone finding some other deals!

(PS, if I screwed this up somehow, sorry)
Is there a scanner I can use in-store like at target?
Yup there is, just located in various parts of the stores, shouldn't have a problem. The worst is when the the game is in the locked glass cases

At Kmart now price checked entire cart full of all the titles listed in the past 10 pages..... All full price....wtf my kmart sux

Found some goods games in a few Kmart with decent BBY trade-in value.

NDS
3x $4.50 Rhythm Heaven ~ $10

PS3
2x $4.50 Singularity ~ $14
2x $4.50 Front Mission: Evolved ~ $14
1x $4.50 Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time ~ $14
2x $1.00 Overlord ~ $6

Wii
1x $4.50 Okami ~ $10
3x $4.50 Muramasa ~ $12

Xbox 360
3x $4.50 Guitar Hero: Van Halen ~ $12
1x $4.50 Singularity ~ $10
2x $4.50 Front Mission: Evolved ~ $10

I was able to earn around $266 in BBY gift card by spending $53 and using a free $55 Kmart gift card.
Sigma, did you really sell Okami to BB? It's worth much more online, especially brand new.
Really? From what I see it's selling for around $20-$25 and if you include fees and shipping, it doesn't seem to be much of a difference.

That's impressive!

My Kmart doesn't have diddly as far as good cheap games go. I'm not talking about the sticker prices either, as I know many times they're wrong...I'm just talking about stock. There was never a bin or any signs up for the clearance sale and barely any are even marked anyway on the shelves.

They have the normal glass case with newer games, then on the shelves where the "deals" are supposed to be it's a mix of more expensive clearance stuff, newer games that shouldn't even be there, and a few (VERY few) actual deals. Then up front the have a "$19.99" bin that rarely has anything good. Was hoping they'd make that more of a clearance bin but no luck.

One of my relatives gave me 2 kmart award cards they got from buying something there and couldn't use since they were out of town during the entire time the cards were valid so I went back and got the PS3 wireless keypad. From what I understand it doesn't look like they are making this item anymore and it was $20.00. It retails for $50 and I checked ebay prices and used ones are going for about $20 or a little more so I figured Kmart was my best bet especially since I had 2 $5 award cards given to me for free.

I also went through the trouble of printing a barcode for the GOW controller bundle, blue box with red controller. I used UPC code 711719983361 so I hope this was the right code. The bundle scanned $59.99 here. There is also a resistance bundle, the Little big planet collectors edition with plush and the sony new owners kit. I couldn't find the UPC online for the resistance bundle so I couldn't check the price.

I had a really hard time finding a site that would let me print a barcode for free but after a ton of searching I found this one:

http://www.barcodesoft.com/online-barcode-generator.aspx

Does anyone have the UPC for the resistance bundle, the one with the black controller in the blue box.

My kmart has a bunch of games put out, the real expensive stuff is in the case, I checked the case today and it didn't look like there was anything that was potential clearance in there. My strategy is to pick whatever games I want to play and take a hand basket or cart and put them all in there then run over to the nearest scanner hoping an employee does not see me and check prices there. If it comes up a good price then I buy the game.

Its worth noting that if there is anything in Kmart that you want to buy you should always check the price at a self scanner, you never know if the item is on clearance or not.

Went to 2 Kmarts

Store #1

X360: GH Van Halen marked $6.00, rang up $4.50
PS3: Sonic Unleashed marked and rang up $6.00
DS: Beastly Frantic Foto $14.99 marked/rang up
*hissesssssssssss* Imagine Gymnast $14.99 marked/rang up

Store #2

Raised prices, lol! The $4.99(price some were a month or so ago) PSP clearance games were $9.99. All kind of $19.99 PS2 games, lol! GBA games! However, I think I found a rare game there for $9.99. I will post it after I go get it.

Got my Ratchet & Clank:ACIT back. Sticker had $29.99 reduced to $19.99. Rang up as $4.50. It's not my Greatest Hits, but it'll do.

I don't know what to think about what people think about girl gamers. The lady at the first store asked me if I was buying them for eBay! Guess I should have GAMER tattooed across my giant ****s since that is where people's eyes tend to wonder to.

No luck at my local store, but they've been cleaned out for a while :(

As a side note... the flow of new release games has been REALLY scarce since Josh stopped handling the deals and such. Anyone else notice this? Half of the game case is barren now vs. packed full of new games a year ago.

And Ms. Barbie... you just have to find a good cashier :) There was a female cashier at Kmart a year or so ago and we use to talk about new releases when I was checking out. Sadly, she went poof, and I have no idea to where.

Yeah. I met a young lady at GameStop who knows her stuff!

FYI: You can also go to UPCDatabase and use their lookup tool, which will then create a UPC that you can copy/paste to a Word document to print up.

http://www.upcdatabase.com/itemform.asp

Also, I found the Resistance 1&2 Dual Pack/Dual Shock 3 UPC at Buy.com(where they want $70 plus $5 shipping for one:lol:):

Excellent work, but no MS word on my computer, it doesn't come with Windows 7 and I am not paying hundreds of dollars to get it, so I wouldn't be able to copy and paste. The links work anyways though and you can print from the web so that was excellent. I'll report back with the price of the bundle when I print and scan the UPC however I doubt its gonna be one of those that scan $4... lol

The battle B-daman game on the GBA is really good, I played it and liked it however someone else's mileage may vary on that one. I would definitely pick it up for $3 but its a pretty short game, again, worth $3. Make sure you like Anime-style stuff, or else you will hate the game.

DQ1 is really good too, I wouldn't even hesitate to pick that one up if you have found it on clearance.

My kmart seems to have run out of clearance games for now however I did notice 2 types of 3d dot heroes, there is one with the value sticker and one without the value sticker. My kmart had both types, the amount of copies they had of that game was pretty amazing, probably 4-5 each type. So that might explain why the same game comes up 2 different prices.

My kmart also seems to be stickering more stuff with regular price tags, not the yellow clearance tags, they had multiple copies of an EA active game for $10.

Yeah. I think that $4 price was an extreme YMMV error at that one store. Just like we had people reporting $10 clearance prices on some games a while ago, but it was only at one store up in NYC someplace.

Oooo.. Thanks for the links!

You're welcome. I know there's also a UPCDatabase.org, but the left side of that site is cut off so you can't see what the links say for the most part.

Most times if Half.com or eBay don't have the UPC listed I'll check Buy or Amazon. But sometimes you get lucky just doing a random web search for 'item name UPC' . But in the cases where there's items with the regular version and a 'value' version(like those special purchase games), then you might be SOL.

You must only be a CAG and not an all-around cheapass if you dont have the Open Office suite on your computer. It can do pretty much anything you would ask Word, Excel, et al. to do. No need to pay Microsoft any more money. (And yes, I checked, you can paste in the UPCs generated by IATCGs first link; just "paste special", "bitmap".)

Seems those 'value' stickers are gonna cost Kmart.

A couple weeks ago, I found Bioshock. Part of it was ripped. Long story short, it had 3 prices($4, $6, and something else)! They gave it to me for the $4. Probably what the 'deal' was with those other games today. Oh well. Til they fix that, I ain't buyin'!

I have a super old desktop with Office 2003, and when I had to wipe my laptop (in an ill-advised step from a couple of local computer repair shops/guys who seemed like they knew what was going on but apparently didn't) I just went with OpenOffice because I'm not sure I still had my Office 2007 keys/if they work a second time/if they only work a certain number of times so when I buy a desktop from cyberpower or build my own I'll just use them. Either way, Open Office was decent as a stop gap (though submitting papers digitally and creating slide show presentations really gave professors and group members needless headaches), but I much prefer MS Office. Really wish it was cheaper though.

Anyway, back on topic...

I stopped by my local K-Mart the other day since I had a $5 or $10 gift card (don't remember which) from the Buy ME2 get a $5 or 10 off ME3 coupon thing where it never printed so I got this from the manager instead, hoping to pick up some clearance items I spotted when I was there a few months ago.

There was a fairly robust table, packed full of merchandise, and it had been there for a year. Different products a lot of the time, and generally not much great, but generally all decent to mediocre to bad current gen releases. The table was gone this time and while I could have asked if it was moved there were no employees around and I didn't want to go through the trouble. So yeah, I wish Josh was still around to get me back in K-Mart more often. That Batman: Arkham City deal was pretty great. Made Skyrim a B1G150% off.

Oh yeah...staying on topic...

So yeah, mostly all the things I saw in what appeared to be the new clearance bin were PS2, DS, PSP, and a few odd Wii or original Xbox games. Super slim pickings and a lot of Hannah Montana stuff.

I was surprised to learn that Madden 2012 apparently had a PS2 release though through this bargain bin.

Both Kmarts I went to had games on tables in electronic. With a ton more up near the registers on 4-sided, with a basket on top, carts.

Every single game you can get for cheap had one of those "value" tags on it, raising the price to $10-20 dollars. Who the hell does Kmart think they're fooling? $.75 LocoRoco is $10. $3 Lost Planet is $15. Bunch of rat-bastards.

It's because they don't get any money by returning the game back to the vendor. So by slapping a value tag on the product, they can preserve its value while at the same time making the game look like a good deal to someone that's buying games for a kid. From a business standpoint, it isn't a terrible practice.

Picked up:

xbox 360 ncaa basketball 10 $7.50
ps3 quantum theory $3.00
ps3 lego indiana jones 2 $6.00
ps3 motorstrom pacific rift $4.50
ps3 buzz quiz world $4.50

Nice on NCAA 10. I found 3 during March Madness for 9.99 each and made $150 on Ebay. I've looked all over town for more but they are gone where I am.

It's the Wii version that's clearanced out. Didn't see any other copies.

I am betting the value games are ordered from a separate vendor and bought in bulk, since I have seen the same game at 2 different prices. I don't think Kmart is pulling anything here, but raising the prices on clearance games is shady, I bet they are doing that just so that they don't have to honor the b1g1 that does not work because their system is screwed up. If they don't have any clearance games in the store then they don't have to honor the ad.

Off topic but I am having trouble charging my PS3 keypad, I tried every USB port in the house, which is a lot but the only thing that charged it was my Xbox 360 S model, I don't have the PS3 system yet, but I will be getting it soon. Would it be safe to use a Motorola cell phone charger (input 100-240v, 50/60hz, 0.15A, output 5.0V 550mA) with it, the charger is a wall plug with a USB port on the end.
I know about Open Office, but I don't really have a use for it right now, or else I would install it.
open office sucks. when larry ellison bought sun microsystems, the open office team forked the project and formed libre office. Libre Office is the one you want to get. It is fantastic and open source.

Haven't seen it noted in this thread yet, but Sports Champions (PS3 - game only) was also $6 at my local K-Mart. Buzz Quiz World (PS3) rang up at $6 here and not the $4.50 that some have reported.

Dawn of Discovery (Wii) was $4 here too.

Those $4.50 prices were only for last week during the B1G1 50% off on clearance games. I know because the :ps3:Tony Hawk Ride bundle that I bought a week or two earlier for $6 came up $4.50.

But it only seemed to work on certain games apparently, since the :360:DJ Hero bundle that I picked up with it for the BOGO 50% came up the full $10 that it also scanned in as at the scanner.

What's really cool though is that they gave me the THR bundle for $2.25 after deducting 50% from the $4.50 price at the registers.

picked up Lost Planet 2 $14.99 PS3 Sonic Unleashed $6.00 PS3 Enemy Territory Quake Wars $6.00 PS3 Buzz Bundle $6.00 PS2. Had lots of clearance Xbox 360 games, but hardly play Xbox so didnt bother to pick any up. Left em for some one who really wanted them.

I found a few of those Digimon's at a distant K-Mart last September for the same price. I'm surprised they haven't dropped any lower.
