I just got a GfW recently. If you just recently signed up for the offer, then you might not receive it for a while. It can take 2-3 months sometimes.

It means you have to sign up for an offer, like one of those Congo line type "deals".

It is, but with the internetz offering more up-to-date news, they're kinda becoming more and more obsolete.
 
I thought I had EGM till the year 3056 but my new issue came today with an envelope inside. Haven't looked at it yet but I wonder if my sub is done.

Go to Best Buy and buy something. You will be offered like 8 free issues of your choice like Sports Illustrated, Time, Entertainment Weekly, etc. Just cancel after you get your 8th issue.
 
I got my first two issues of GfW today. It's funny because I bought the January issue when I was at EB Games because I figured I wouldn't get it through the subscription until the Feb. issue, and then I got home and got the Jan. and Feb. issues in the mail.
 
I got only one issue of GfW, but who knows maybe the other is in the mail? Doesn't matter really just shows that I got the Sub.

If its your first issue of your current subscription, then sometimes they'll throw in the previous month's issue, just to shorten your subscription length.

Well, I haven't checked my mail yet today so it could be there, who knows. But it did say the sub ends Dec 07. So yea, I should be getting it.

can't wait for another sub so I can put more time on it, Thanks!

Then they might have both expired now. IDK what they plan on doing, with the sale of 1up.com, and loss of OPM. Just keep checking here.
 
i just got my first issue of a years worth of EGM, used the mercury magazines link on the first post around december last year. Thanks a bunch OP!!
 
Was there ever a Gamepro free sub? I can't see myself paying for their magazine, yet I had a subscription for the last year or so. Does anyone still have a link?

There was an offer for it here about 3 years ago, when I first came to this site. I think it was through a link on their website, with a promo with Best Buy or something.
 
Just got my first EGM doing the Canadian trick. Thought it was my Nintendo Power and went "wtf? Halo? GTA?" then realized EGM finally came =P

On the bright side, I got my first Comic Book Buyer's Guide today. I signed up for that one a long ass time ago.
 
I had a question about Games for Windows. I still had over a year on my sub for computer gaming world, once it changed to GfW I stopped receiving it. Tried to look up my account in ziff davis customer support but it says I have no account. This happen to anyone else?

Even if(when) Ziff Davis sells out, MS will not let the GfW magazine die. MS just started it to coincide with their new branding of games, and there is no way they will let the magazine just die all of a sudden.

its not exactly free but latina is at the $15 dollar reward level of e-rewards, one of those do surveys/things and get money for rewards sites. e-rewards.com is the site, ive barely done anything there and have $19 in my account.

I finally got my first issue of GfW today. Bittersweet, though, considering the news about Ziff Davis. Here's hoping GfW and EGM survive, along with our free subs.
