New Paypal rebate - $5 off $20 for existing customers

I'm not sure if this is the right forum or its already been posted but...

I just received this link in my e-mail today:

PayPal - $5 Cash Rebate

PayPal $5.00 Cash Rebate on Orders $20.00 or more from 4/24 - 5/13 on all PayPal stores online in the US and Canada (excluding eBay).

Not too bad, that is if I can find anything that would be worth buying for around $15.00.

Only for eligible paypal users, and I have no idea what eligible is, I have a verified premeir US account with over 90 transactions, two credit cards, two checking accounts, and a confirmed address and I'm not eligible. I wasn't eligible for the last one either.
 
I got the email but didn't sign up because the link in the email redirects you to a non-paypal website. I didn't feel like reading all the terms and conditions and getting tons of their spam for $5.

Actually if you go to PayPal.com, click on the little box that says "Presenting our $100 million promotion," and then click on the link "shopping site," it takes you to the link in the OP so it is definitely a legit PayPal promotion.

I went ahead and entered my email and it said that I now quality for the promotion so we'll see what happens. This is not the first time they did this.

i don't doubt it's legit and partnered with paypal, i just don't like that you sign up for something that's not directly paypal. i've done simliar paypal offers in the past (like the $20 back for spending $50), but they weren't from an affiliate site.
 
Nice, I just got the $15 from their previous deal like this. I never got an email then and it still worked. Now I need to find something to buy for $20 though. hmmm

I didn't see this posted anywhere yet (but if it is, please remove this thread), but I recently received an email about this deal. It's very similar to the older $15 off of a $30 Paypal purchase:

If you go to this link, enter your Paypal ID and make a $20 purchase between April 24 - May 13, and receive $5 back in your Paypal account by June 10. Quick and easy!

It's only $5, but it might be nice if you're planning to make a purchase in the near future ;)


NOTE: The ad states "excluding eBay companies" - so you probably shouldn't expect a refund for buying something there....
 
I guess by "Ebay companies" they mean *anyone* with a Paypal Premier account (or whichever one takes CC's)... it's got to be from an actual store in the US.

Sucks, I'm probably going to be sending over $20 in Paypal to someone today too :(

Well, I'll just use it at Newegg when I get Windows Vista.

If you go back and look at the "fine print" for the $15 rebate offer, it states that you will get the rebate by the end of May (I think May 28 is the deadline to receive it).

So don't worry - you've got about another month or so before it will come. I haven't received mine either, but I'm pretty confident it will arrive :D

I'd say it's still worth signing up!! ;)

i only bought stuff from ebay, CAG's, and play-asia and i didn't think any of those qualified so i was surprised to see it go through but hey :D.

When I didn't receive my rebate during the Xmas promo, I contacted PayPal and they issued a credit on my account. They will check to see if you made an eligible purchase, but that's about it.
 
For anyone that received the email - what is the message that you get after you submit your paypal email? I didn't get an email and submitted it. Said something along the lines "Thank you for your interest in this offer". Didn't exactly say Yes or No...
 
just to be clear, this is only buying directly with Paypal, not using a paypal mastercard, right?
 
Boo for being ineligible. Ah well. Guess they got tired of giving out tons of free money. Now they're only going to give out a few pounds of it. :roll:

Assuming this prootion works like all the previous promotions, yes it is just with Paypal. And you'd have to send through the merchant site, NOT by logging into Paypal and clicking the send money tab.
 
Sorry guys - I didn't realize that the rebate was by email only :cry:

If you're interested - it might not be a bad idea just to go to the link and enter your email address to see what happens. In all honesty, Paypal emails tend to get dropped into my Spam filter......so maybe some CAGs got the email but didn't know it?

Probably a long shot, but might be worth a try!
 
Well I got the e-mail as well, so I'm eligible. It's just too bad that ebay stores are inelibible since I just made a $140 purchase throught PayPal at an ebay store last night.

I have no idea...it doesn't seem to make sense to me. I'm guessing it's a marketing push specifically targeted for certain Paypal users. Maybe it's been a while since you've used Paypal.....or if you've bought something from a certain store in the past few months?

Then again, the email could be completely random! :bomb:
 
I found a way to find the promotion on Paypal's site. Just go to their home page (before you log in) an click on the 100 Million Dollar Promo, you know the one with the sun flower on it? On the promotion page it should have a link that says "shopping" on it. Click on that and on the next page is the $5 rebate promo.
 
Wow I was just about to complain that I never received my $15 from the earlier promo when I get an email today stating that paypal deposited $15 into my account. Great timing!

I did receive the email for this $5 off $20 deal, now to just find a place to use it....

That's weird since I was successful signing up and didn't recieve an email.

Anyways, I signed up for it when I got my e-mail yesterday. Now I just need to decide what I need from where as they seem to be excluding ebay this time around. I guess I'll be shifting through newegg as I doubt I'd use paypal anywhere else. ~_~

I'm glad to hear they are giving them out. For some reason I just don't have confidence that I will ever see that rebate.

Actually, I think it's a legit deal because amazingly I JUST recieved my $15 today and I was gonna post it the other thread if I can actually find it...

edit: oh yeah... maybe I should've read the next page.
