Is it just me or does there seem to be more well hyped shows coming out this TV season. It's got my DVR overflowing trying to sample everything to see whats good. Use this thread to discuss the new shows here are my views of what I have seen below

Prison break- My favorite new show of the year so far. Not only do you have to wonder how they will get out but you have to wonder why his brother was set up. You really have to suspend reality a lot during this show though a lot of things happen that aren't even close to possible.

Reunion- I really liked the idea behind the show but the show semed to drag. I'm willing to give it a few more views because it has potential.

Head cases- Adam Goldberg is really the only reason to watch this. The show was funny at times but quite bland in the majority.

Supernatural- I thought this was going to suck but it ended up being quite good IMO. Was very creepy throughout but I can see this as being a show that will struggle for viewers and get canned

Bones-The dialogue was crisp and funny but the procedual plot has been done a million times. If this show can't find a fresh angle it is going to get canned. The chemistry of the two leads is pretty good as well.

A couple of days this week I had the chance to watch TV during prime time and I didn't find shit worth watching. I think I've given up on TV other than sports, fox sunday nights, and late night shows like Connan, Stern, and adult swim.
forget new shows, im looking forward to monday, when i get to start watching arrested development again!
=-D

don't forget My Name is Earl...actually, forget it...i dont know if it's starting this season or not, but it sounds dumb as fuck...i'm just surprised some of you Kevin Smith freaks haven't jerked off talking about yet

I'm really looking for the new shows like Surface and Invasion. It is just going to make me have more dedication to the tube. I need a DVR and watch the shows when I am not in the mood to play games.

I enjoy Prisonbreak but the only thing about it is once they break out I guess they will have to show us another set of inmates that are going to try to escape from a different prison.

Reunion is another one I enjoy it is basically after the concept of 24 instead of dealing with one hour in a day each episode it deals with a different year each episode. I can see how they could advance the story for this one for a while but the only bad thing is the time it will be on.

Another Fox show that is somewhat funny to me is The War at Home because of the premise of the show and I have always liked Michael Rapport when he is doing comedy.

I like Kevin Smith films but I like some of the work that Jason Lee has done outside of Kevin Smith which isn't much. I think the premise of this show is kind of funny but knowning NBC they hype shows a little too much for me but we will see what others think of it once it actually starts this season.

Me too. Best show on TV, IMO. The two things I'm praying for this TV season is a full 24 episode run for AD, and good enough ratings for it to get renewed again for a fourth season.

I'm also very excited about The Office starting new episodes next week. Steve Carell is the man.

I actually read that the dialogue/writing was horrible. That was from a critic though.

The only new show I have watched so far is Prison Break. It's pretty good so far although I missed the first 2 episodes (or maybe just the first....not sure how many there have been).

How many more weeks till they cut that awful "War at Home" show and move AD back to the slot it belongs in instead of this Monday nonsense. Also, gj Fox on premiering the "War at Home" on 9/11

The funny thing about arrested development it probably will do well any night of the week plus by it being on Monday it basically has no competition in its time slot but CBS.

yeah, my DVR can't take it anymore!!! I've got Prison Break, Invasion, Bones and a bunch of other crap I'm trying to sample. Hopefully this means that good TV is coming back because the past few years have been very bleak except for Buffy.

That'll have to fill the void that Scrubs left. Stupid NBC.

Still, I've got my Veronica Mars to keep me happy for now.

I can't wait for Lost to start up again. That is by far one of the best shows on TV. If you have not seen it, go out and rent the DVD to catch up on season 1.

Arrested development sucks... Get the campaign and bitching/whining/moaning ready because that's what you're going to need when it's about to be canceled, AGAIN.

Seriously, how many years does Fox have to keep this crap on the air to realize that people don't give a shit about people fucking each other in rabbit outfits and other lame "quirky" crap on that show?

Can't wait for My name is Earl and The Office. I probably would like Prison Break if I could remember to watch it on Mondays. Arrested Development should be good in helping me remember to watch Prison Break, as well.

"My Name is Earl" looks pretty stupid and funny. Hopefully, it's good. Besides Family Guy and wrestling, I don't watch TV that much anymore.

DOn't forget MOnday night football. That usuallu wins the night in males, which could hurt AD.

There are many shows this season that looks interesting enough that I wanted to check out. Some of the ones I saw that I like and will continue to watch are: Prison Break, Reunion, and Supernatural. Bones is so-so. But I will continue to watch to see if it improves.

Other new shows that I will at least tune in to the pilot to see if it's any good: Threshold, Commander in Chief, Surface, Ghost Whisperer.

My name is earl is going to be amazing. On a side note, just because jason lee is in the show doesn't mean it has anything to do with kevin smith (which it doesn't).

I'm going to watch Lost. Religiously. House, M.D. as well.

Not sure when the new season of Alias starts, but I'll look into it later. That's another show I watch religiously.

Oh, and the return of the NBC version of The Office.

You make an excellent point. Since we are all identical, I don't even have to watch this show; I know that I (or anybody else) won't like it, simply because you didn't.

Anybody watch the two-hour series premiere of Threshold tonight? It was awesome. Looks like Threshold will make for a very interesting and exciting season, if tonight's episode is any indication of the rest of the season.

Oh yeah, don't forget; Lost and Invasion start next week.
anybody know when the new season of Scrubs is starting?
Scrubs is going to be a mid season replacement for a failing show so basically anytime between October and January probably, sucks they do that to the show too, I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up killing it.

Returning shows plan to watch:
Simpsons (won't try too hard, I'll see it if I see it)
Family Guy (Watch every episode)
Amercian Dad (Season premiere was quite good, so I may finally be hooked)
Arrested Development
The Office
Lost

new shows I'm giving a shot:
How I met your Mother (The inclusion of Neil Patric Harris intriguies me)
My Name is Earl
Invasion
i don't know, but i just can't wait for the next new OC
news flash - it started 2 weeks ago and it sucks

Oh yeah. I want to check out My Name is Earl too. But I don't know how I'm going to be able to because there are too many shows I want to watch at that time slot: My Name is Earl, Amazing Race, House, and Commander in Chief.

What other shows suck in your opinion? I wan tto make sure I'm not missing any gems. The OC seems off to a better start this season. I'm also looking forward to the restart of smallville. I saw a spoiler thread on its first episode and it looks to start the season off with some fireworks
Raw, and Battlestar Galactica are pretty much the only shows I watch on a regular basis
Bad news for you then, mid-season finale of BSG is this friday.

I'm look forward to Lost, 24, Scrubs, Arrested Development, My name is earl, Smallville and The OC, Everybody hates chris. Now, I'm fucked because the last 3 come on at the same time, so I watch one, tape one and the other is fucked unless I use 2 VCRs or get a DVR box and tape one.

Yea, I know. That sucks... I have enjoyed the series none the less. I used to watch CSI all the time, but I got burned out on them.
