New TV season

I'll probably watch Nip/Tuck along with all the other regulars (Simpsons, Lost, etc.).

The new shows I've seen so far haven't impressed me much. Invasion, Surface, How I met your Mother, My name is Earl, Everybody hates Chris, Bones, all didn't have a great debut IMO. Criminal Minds and E-Ring seemed about average. The only others ones I'll record or watch is Ghost Whisperer, Night Stalker (which hopefully won't dissapoint), and Close to Home (I'm actually only interested in this one because it is set in the town I'm living and was raised in, Indianapolis).

most pilots do suck..as there has been no character development, and they also have to try to establish what the show is going to be about...very few shows have a good/great pilot...also you didn't mention many of the new shows highly rated by tv guide ie prison break, threshold, supernatural

Yea pilots are usually weak. My favorite pilot of all time is the Shield's the twist at the end made me think hell yea this show has some balls

I'm disappointed that the season is coming to a close. (great summer of Rescue Men, Battlestar Galatica, Stargate)

Jennifer Love Hewitt has a new show on tonight. It looks like shes an angel or something stupid but i'll watch it because she's so freakin hot i just want to lick her! Maybe it'll be a really good and heartwarming show and make me cry.

Only NEW shows i've gotten into are My Name Is Earl, Invasion and Lost. I didn't watch Lost last season just watched the recap before the new season. These should all be around for awhile. ;)

Oh yea and I still need to watch Prison Break, got all the episodes so far but haven't watched yet...

True, but they still have to grab my interest if they want me to tune in for the rest of the season. Didn't mention Prison Break because I didn't watch it and wasn't that interested from the previews to be honest. I watched Supernatural, thought it was pretty average and fairly uninspired. Just seemed like more WB action/drama junk. If Night Stalker is anything like the original, and even though it's a remake, I expect it it'll be much better.

The recap episode of Lost didn't do the show justice. If you haven't seen the first season, I recommend watching it. There are a LOT of sub-plots and details in the first season that weren't touched on in the recap episode.
How I Met Your Mother was actually pretty funny once you got past the first 10 minutes. "Suit up!"
Yea Doggie Howser and Hanigan were the comic highlights of the show. I have a feeling it will be a show with some lasting power.

That and the fact that its on CBS, and CBS actually tends to back good shows, doesn't hurt it at all.

Well that was a pretty damn good season finale of Battlestar Galactica tonight, even if they did over do it a bit in painting the Pegasus crew as being...unscrupulous to say the least. It's just amazing how much better it is when you compare it to either of the star-gate shows.

I agree with that too... I kinda wished they would have reviewed the Pegasus' logs to see what they had gone through, being only one battlestar.

Night Stalker is good. I saw the pilot about a month ago and wrote up a quick review on my blog. It reminded me a lot of Millennium, if you were familiar with that show:

Millennium fans should feel right at home with Night Stalker, as Kolchak mimics Frank Black’s melancholy and weathered demeanor, and his actions remind me of Frank’s late night research, sitting in his basement surrounded by gruesome photographs of death, dismemberment and disembowelment. Night Stalker is inherently more slick due to its shift from gloomy Seattle to the wonder of L.A., but the mystery and creepiness remain, and the effective use of location take it out of the city lights when necessary.
A new episode of Threshold is on tonight. I think it's one of the better overlooked shows this season.
Here, here! It is my favorite new show of the season. Such a great show, great characters, great writing, and a solid ongoing plot line. More people need to watch this show - it's about time we had some quality television on Friday nights, and it's only doing mediocre ratings across the first two weeks.

The second episode from last night was pretty funny too - it definitely has a "Friends" vibe plus Alyson Hannigan is smoking hot.

every new show except prison break and supernatural sucks..I'm done with Invasion and Threshold. Both seem to drag on forever.
Did scrubs get canned? I cant find it listed, WTF?
it's going to replace a failed show. Tvguide.com was reporting it may be as soon as Oct. 18

It's going to be a little different though since they fired that blonde chick that was oldest daughter #2 on roseanne.

NOOOOOOO! Why?
NOOOOOOO! Why?
I think it was a money issue - they couldn't afford to keep everyone because no one watches the third best comedy on network TV because people are total dumbasses.

Well I am giving up on Invasion, the pilot had some potential, but the 2nd episode was just painful to watch. Thus far I haven't been that impressed with the new season of arrested developement, it's focusing too much on a few central characters and pushing the others to the wayside with occasional lines. The 2nd episode of how I met your mother was funny, so I'll keep watching that. The 2nd episode of My name is Earl was only ok, so I'll tune in to a couple more episodes of that, and I'm currently on the fence about the Office. And I still need to finish watching my episodes on tape of Threshold. Tomorrow I'll be watching the premiere of Night Stalker.

Another good episode of Lost, but was dissapointed that several scenes of it were overlapped or unnessary (ex. watching Locke climbing into the hatch).

I agree with you on invasion there doesn't seem to be a lot of cohesion in the plot and the episode was bland as anything. I will give it a few more episodes though

Keep watching The Office. It is my favorite show on TV right now - the second episode was just as good as the first... so many great lines:

"that's what she said"
"I'm getting a boner"
"Todd Packard and I took these two girls home and he did them both - it was awesome!"

Anyone watch Veronica Mars last night? It was better than I expected it to be, so hopefully the season will live up to what it was last year.

Also, finally got around to watching Monday's episode of Prison Break. This was, in my opinion, the best episode of any TV show so far this season. I think this has become my new favorite show.

Also watched The Office...I've never laughed so hard as I did when he said that about being worried about getting a boner.

I wonder if they will bring in someone to be JD's new love interest on the show since Elliot isn't there anymore?

I agree, I hope they can fix that on DVD.

I'm just recording Aqua Teen, Lost, and old episodes of Chapelles Show. The best show on TV right now might just be House M.D. I don't even need to record that shit, I watch it every Monday. Great fucking show. One of the only other shows I'm interested in is going to be Everybody Hates Chris. I'm praying it doesn't turn out to be Down to Earth.

Night Stalker was actually pretty decent, and the preview for next weeks episodes looks quite interesting, think I'll have to tune in next week.

Did anyone notice how they had Darren McGavin(the original Night Stalker), added into the scene when Stuart Townsend walks into the office the second time.

Damnit Mr. Anderson, you must miss the show a lot if you watch it on Monday's. Its on Tuesday's following bones. So you may not actually be watching House, M.D. Damnit Fez.

My lineup:
Sunday: Family Guy gets recorded, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy
Monday: Arrested Development, Prison Break
Tuesday: Nip/Tuck
Wednesday: Lost

That's a damn lot of TV.

Smallville had a good start tonight I think. It looks like they are finally pushing ahead with some fresh story lines. I thought how he dealt with the two adversarys was much too quick and easy though

Alias season premiere was on yesterday.

I gotta download season three before I start watching this season, though -- the show is too complex to just jump in on like this. I also don't want anything ruined for me.

I did. I thought it was cool, but looked a little weird. Did anyone notice Kolchak's straw hat hanging in his home office?

Not really because his foes were terrorizing his town for most of the episode trying to find him. Isn't it sweet that for the next episode Clark doesn't have any powers yet Chloe just told him how see knew for a while. This sucks because they put Clark and Lona together too quickly in the season but we will see how this plays out with Chloe because she will never stop liking Clark and we all know that Superman ends up with Lois anyway.

Will and Grace season premiere was hilarious and live with Alec Baldwin. They did pretty well live by keeping the whole episode in Will's apartment and hallway.

That's nothing. Here's my prime time lineup (yes I watch way too much TV):

Monday: Las Vegas, Medium

Wednesday: George Lopez, Lost, Invasion
Thursday: Survivor, Night Stalker, Without a Trace
Friday: Ghost Whisperer, Threshold, Numbers, Apprentice (Trump version)
Saturday: N/A
Sunday: Simpsons, War at Home, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy

Shows I used to watch or wanted to get into, but stopped due to conflicting schedules: CSI (all versions), The O.C., Reunion, Wife Swap, Cold Case, Family Guy, American Dad, Malcolm in the Middle, The Office, The Biggest Loser, Surface

Monday: Arrested Development, Kitchen Confidential, Prison Break
Tuesday: House
Wednesday: Lost, South Park
Thursday: The Apprentice
Friday: Friday Night Stand-Up (Unless it's a woman- they always suck)
Saturday: Nothing
Sunday: Desperate Housewives (Family Guy is recorded)

Every Night: Daily Show
