Is Conan really even worth $10? I wanna pick it up, but I'm not sure... I like hack and slash games and I even enjoyed Viking.
if you enjoyed viking (i did too except for the final battle) and, as others said, GOW, you'll dig Conan. it's your basic 'earn points to spend on new moves plus timed events' hack and slash. different move trees for different weapon classes.

very violent, in a good way. lots of severed limbs, etc. some very cool moves. my biggest complaint is also one of the things that i liked -- in order to get experience, you need to use different moves. for example, you get tons of bonus exp. for doing a spinning head severer (or whatever) 50 times. the wonderful part about this is that it gives you incentive to try out and master all the different moves. the bad part, though, is that once you master it, you're wasting exp if you use it again (as opposed to a new move that you just got but haven't maxed out yet). so, what should be a great feature, getting you to use every move, in actuality means once you get a new move you're forced to spam it 50 times for the bonus and need to avoid using your favorite moves. so while i want to love the exp. bonus and getting you to master different moves, in actual gameplay it doesn't totally work.

it's low rent, definitely not a AAA title. but passable. worth 10 if you're into the genre, for sure.

Ignore the demo for Conan...it's actually a very, very good game in the God of War mold. I bought a copy at the CC meltdown, and have passed it around the studio to 3 other people, all of whom finished and enjoyed it. It really is a totally underrated hack-n-slasher, and worth it for $10.

However, it is amazing at just how bad Ron Perlman is as Conan. I've heard stories of how much a diva he is in VO sessions...so I shouldn't be too surprised.

Finishing Conan actually made me want to play the other 360 hack-n-slashers. So I picked up Beowulf (huge mistake) and Viking. Viking was actually surprisingly good too. I thought the combat was a bit too shallow, but the open world-esque design and slight tactical elements of the big battles was pretty cool.

Just ordered Crackdown for $9.99 shipped, thanks OP. I've been waiting for that game to get under $10 so I can play it before Crackdown 2 comes out.

Myself along with a few others have received crackdown which seemed to be repackaged. Just a heads up, nothing is wrong with it and unscratched.

Weird, this thread shows an 88th page, but when I click on it it brings me back to 87.

Anyway, real question: If I buy GuildWars Platinum, can I use the included Eye of the North on other versions of GuildWars too? I've always been curious to play this series, but the number of versions is pretty confusing.

Does anyone know if these are permanent price drops? There are at least 8 games I'd like, but I don't want to buy them all at once if I don't have to. Since they have free shipping with all the games I don't need a minimum order or anything and could wait.

I was just planning to get Kameo since it is older, may be hard to find soon and I just got my Xbox so I'm trying to grow my collection.

Just was curious if anyone knows.

Thanks!

The discounts come and go. Sometimes they go out of stock and jump back up in price. Other times the price just goes up. Sometimes down. I wouldn't expect the prices to stick around for more than a couple weeks. $9.99 seems to be the lowest (couple exceptions) unless it's listed as open box or used.

The page count thing mentioned above seems to be an issue with the forum software. I've noticed it in other threads, first in this one since I follow it pretty closely. Snagged Conan!

Thanks, I will probably pick a couple of the best deals up. Some of the games are only a few dollars off, so I will probably get the ones that have the most savings and then get the rest at some other point.

Thanks again!

I'm not sure what you're asking exactly, but if I remember correctly, there's only one key for Platinum. You can bring over your characters from other campaigns in these, yes.

Went ahead and ordered Shadowrun to bring back into my library. Jonesing to play that game again. Hopefully the right version ships.
If anyone is on the fence for Conan, get it. You won't be disappointed.........
i was for a while , i was even looking at it during gamestops last sale ,

but for 10 dollars with free shipping (and hopefully new and not used!)

it just sealed the deal on what i have seen and read to be a solid, fun, action, hack and slash game. :D

Thanks again for the Conan feedback guys!
Anyone know if DMC4 is easy to use with a PS3 controller? If it's got a 360 preset I'll get it.
On PC? I don't think the PS3 controlers work on PC. The system recognizes them, but I guess would need special drivers. I think it was supposed to play better on PS3 than 360 because of the d-pad though.
For those waiting on God of War III, Conan is a great appetizer. =D
Conan just arrived it came sealed and in perfect condition with a yellow sticker "exclusive dark horse Conan comic book inside" on it.

Its time to eat that appetizer right now!

Picked up Conan 360 as well. $9.99 flat is not much more than a rental in some places.

Also, Silent Hill PSP is generally recommended to mature gamers at any price, so $9.99 counts as a great deal.

The first post with the games and prices is badly in need of an update...many wrong prices posted. You can add Ferrari Challenge (PS3) to the list for 14.99, shipped.
There are unofficial drivers that work great on PC, but is there a 360 controller configuration in the game premade or something?
yes, but if you are still unsure, give the demo a try since the controls are the same

Just got my copy of Kameo today, new sealed in the package if anyone was interested in getting that.

Thanks again to the OP!

EDIT: Forgot to put that it is a Platinum Hits editions.

UT3 is definitely a step above UT2k4 gameplay-wise but also two steps back.

Still, I bet it'd be a nicer XBL FPS than Halo (BR, BR, BR, BR, BR, Carbine, BR, BR, rocket launcher, assault rifle to melee/grenade, BR, BR, BR.)...

EDIT: Just a bit of research and apparently, the titan pack didn't come out for UT3 360. Kinda sad, really. For $10, you could probably just get the PC version off Steam...

:ps3:Ferrari Challenge is at $14.99 -- trying to decide if it's worth it. backlog is pretty long right now - any thoughts?

im thinking about condemned 2 for ps3, but last time i tried it, i cant even play or host the online game. anyone know if the problem has been fixed?
:ps3:Ferrari Challenge is at $14.99 -- trying to decide if it's worth it. backlog is pretty long right now - any thoughts?
No... it's a pretty dull game. It's all Ferraris, all the time. It gets pretty dull.
Does anyone know if the Crackdown currently being shipped is Platinum hits version or the original version? Thanks
I received the original version.
TNA Impact! is on their daily deals for 9.99 plus free shipping. Has anyone played this game? Someone gave it a 1 out of 5 eggs.
Stop! Don't do it man! TNA impact! is the worst wrestling game I have ever played and generally not a very good game at all. It's buggy and full of glitches. The character movelists are extremely limited, most of the characters use the same moves. The AI is cheap and hard as hell and the only way to win most times is to cheese the computer endlessly. And if you get it on 360, some of the achievements are glitched too.

$9.99 is WAY too much for this crapfest. I even avoided this game when it was on sale for $4.99 at the HollyWood Video sale. I think this game will be a deal for $1.99 or maybe cheaper.

i updated the 360 section which had some games drop off

EDIT: also cleaned up PS3 section which had even more games drop off with a couple of updates. sadly condemned 2 is gone - i had put off ordering it

Agree with all of the above, although I would say the 360 achievements are actually glitched in your favor (well one of them is). Johnsdoe is right about the AI being terrible and repeating the same move over and over again is the only way to win matches. Even I'm not sure it's worth $9.99 and I think most 360 games are worth $10.
Anyone know if they are still shipping out Shadowrun PC copies in place of the 360 or did they finally fix that?
I ordered a copy of Shadowrun 360 quite a while back, but well after that glut of glitches that you mentioned.

I received the correct 360 version, for what its worth.
