They're getting ready for the sale alright. Just checked my wishlist and I noticed that the prices of Wrestlemania Anthlogy and South Park s.6 just increased. Also they seem to be screwing around with things a bit... some items just vanished from my wishlist, and when I try to look them up again I get a weird listing that has no pic and says "There is no information for this item yet." Look up Excel Saga or Final Fantasy Unlimited sets to see what I mean... just a price, with no pic, and nothing on the info page (i.e. no way to purchase them).

Yeah, they upped WrestleMania Anthology a few bucks. Well, at least it'll still be around $125 after discount. Still a kick-ace deal.

True. I noticed they jacked up constantine by about 5 bucks for the non-deluxe version... so now the 20% brings it back down to their normal price. fuckers. :bomb:
 
Lucky you. Many of the superbits I had on my wishlist are now $6 more (including 20% discount) than if I were to pick them up at a best buy.

Lost jumped almost $10 from it's previous price, Scrubs went up around $5.

This sale isnt looking as good as it once did.
 
It doesn't seem like they have the Ducktales box set in yet. How long does it usually take them to get new releases in?
 
Wrestlemania, Lost, and the newest South Park... so far the price hikes seem to be on stuff that would be considered "hot" and/or "new." Stuff that's relatively main stream and in high demand. I'm guessing you'll see things like Batman Begins, Family Guy, or the Star Wars DVDs going up as well.

The more obscure or just less current stuff on my wishlist will probably stay the same.
 
I put WrestleMania Anthology in my wishlist. Also, I put the Bruce Lee Ultimate Collection in there as well. Might be worth spending an extra $30 on that.

I noticed that the Bret Hart set would be $15 with the sale, but I have to get that on release day, so I'll be spending an extra five or so on that. :)

Damn, you're right. I bought Lost from DDD a few weeks ago for my gf's birthday at ~$36 and thought, 'too bad the 20% off sale didn't line up' but it looks like the current price less 20% will basically even out.

munch - What's the principle behind not buying TV shows on DVD out of curiousity?

Also worked out great for me that this sale will run through the release of the big Oprah DVD set. My sister is a massive fan, so that should make a great Xmas gift. Just have to see if DDD+20% off beats any release week sales.

supposedly it's only going to last until the 19th. it's too bad, too, because there's some stuff coming out on the last two tuesdays of the month (22nd + 29th) that i would have liked to pick up.

i think the only thing on my wishlist that raised in price was the wrestlemania anthology. i'm pretty sure it was $150.xx and now it's 157.18. it kind of sucks, but it's still a darn good deal on it.

I think most of the rush to know all the details comes because once you wait a few hours after it starts, your packages will take twice as long to show up as they would if you had placed your order within the first few hours.

Anyone know which codes to expect? Are they usually the same each time (SUPERSALE, NYTIMES, etc)? I want to make sure I have a healthy supply of codes, because I plan on splitting this up into several orders. Like I'll get Wrestlemania first thing and place that order right away, then I'll take time and mull over all the stuff in my huge "maybe pile".

Six Feet Under Season 3 went up like $15... I think they're definitely trying to make their profits this time around.

Well I think someone should make another thread for the sale since we know that it's starting at Midnight tonight.

Also, I just did a search for Firefly instead of looking at it from my shopping cart, and the price of it is back down to $29 or so just like it was before I noticed it go up. What gives? I know that DDD has shown in the past to raise some prices in the past, but not by so much and then to have it go up and down. Their site must be getting hammered or something.

Edit Again: Site search has the box set coming up for $29 or so, but then when you click on it to see the details of it, it goes back upto $36.XX. What gives? Anyone know?
 
Man... I was set on finally getting X-Files Season 2, but it has disappeared. And all the other X-Files boxes jumped up $20. Well, I guess they're saving me money, since I can't really get them now. Anyway, Alfred Hitchcock Masterpiece Collection remains on the list, and maybe I'll even move the Signature collection on over in the absence of X-Files.

And don't forget about Pete and Pete Season 2.

Aww fuck no....now a ton of my stuff that's already on my wishlist is going up as well as stuff I was just contemplating. Bullshit DDD. You get my thumbs down. When something goes up 90-100% fold or is just more expensive even with the coupon and after it had been cheaper is bad business.

For those that wanted Firefly, it's not worth it. I got buy it now at Amazon or Buy.com for cheaper. It's also coming up now at $36 on the search feature as well.
 
I was waiting to get Inifinite Ryvius at 25 bucks before 20% then the price shot up to 35. Only going to cost me 3 bucks more then before but jeez I wanted it for around 20.
