NFL 2007 Season Thread
that was a good game
And I missed it.
Ah well, one of the few times I'll say it but, let's go Giants! Remember that time everyone in our division was in the playoffs but us? There's always next year for Philadelphia. :D

The steelers have been victms of shitty calls over the years like any other team... and they have had questionable call go their way too... but when the colts got all those calls against the steelers a few weeks back I didnt go around going fuck the colts... some of you people on here need to grow the fuck up

It sucks to see the steelers lose, but it was an entertaining GAME... life goes on
BYE BYE STEELERS!!!!

YOU fuckING BITCHES!

Another Big Ben failer. Got to love it.

Man I wish Cartman would come and drink the tears of the steelers. The fact that they just lost like this makes it oh the sweeter.
Your...um...wow, nevermind.

Great game from both teams, nice to see the Jags win (they and the Seahawks were my picks, and I picked both winning scores as well :D )

Garrard is inhuman.

Since I've got to find someone to blame, I'm gonna put this squarely on Arians. Some absolutely bonehead playcalling on offense. He better get his act together next year.

Keep hatin people. We'll be back next year. Even stronger.

Oh man, I thought the Jags were gonna blow it, and I was still bustin' a vain when he was about to kick the field goal, but I was cheerin' my ass off when Garrard rushed for 32 yards. He didn't perform too well, but at least he didn't seal the loss at the end like most QB's do.
Congrats to Jacksonville. Now they actually need to make themselves useful and beat New England.
Which was why I was cheering them on :bouncy:. Me and I'm betting almost everyone else will expect the Chargers to win tomorrow, so that in effect will make the Jags play the Pats.

I like the Steelers, but they haven't really proved themselves to be as solid as a playoff calibur team.

Talk about another nerve rackin' game between the Jags and Steelers. They have always had great games from being in the same division. I swear I was gonna have a heart attack in the fourth quarter. Good game to all the Steelers fans on here.
Your...um...wow, nevermind.

Why? Because I hate the steelers and enjoy when they lose?

Dont act like you dont dislike a team and enjoy when they lose.

Fair enough, my reaction was that you were attacking a Steelers fan. Not sure why I would think that, sorry.

And hell yes, when the Packers lose, I'll be incredibly happy.

Yup. Same to you. It was a very enjoyable game. I thought people would know by now to quit turning the channel when Pittsburgh's down

Nope...I just really...really...really......hate the steelers.

I do happen to like Charlie Batch though and I am glad he has a super bowl ring he can waive in the face of Lions fans.

Because The Lions are my most hated thing in the NFL.
And hell yes, when the Packers lose, I'll be incredibly happy.
I'm assuming you say that because your a Vikings fan ;)

Sucks to miss the playoffs don't it! Mwaa haa haa
What makes this great is that tough guy Hines Ward loses.
He already has a superbowl ring, and a whole city behind him to boot. I'd also say its a sure bet he smiles more than anyone else in the NFL so I think he'll be allright.

To jags fans: Congrats, it was a very good game. Extremely entertaining.

Hell yes. Vikings fan since I was like 5 and it will never change.
Hell yeah, sucks to miss the playoffs, but if we actually hire people that DON'T suck this off-season, we'll be walking into playoff world next year.
(I predicted a 8-8 season in August anyway)

I'm a little skeptical of the Packers next year just because this is most likely Favre's last year and I dunno about Aaron Rodgers endurance, he seems to get injured pretty easily. That's about it though; If McCarthy can continue to refine the team they will soon enough become a constant threat to all teams >:D

I think I'm glad that I had to work and missed the Jags game, I would have been going out of my mind in the fourth quarter. Now why the hell is this college basketball show on ESPN? I need to see highlights of the game.

Now all I need is a Bucs win tomorrow and I'll be a happy camper; won't get to watch that game either though :(

same here... 3rd and 7 and they call a qb sneak?? wtf was that... btw the refs in the game were ridiculous..

called holding on the 2pt conversion... i couldn't see it at all... no call of holding on Jacksonville when Garrard made that run when I saw 4 of the 5 players do it blatantly...

i don't care in the least that you hate the Steelers..or the Lions... what shitty team do you like that is the question???

Thank you... while I dislike certain teams like the patriots and would enjoy to see them lose... I respect them

Then there are teams like the Bengals... who seem to pick up every bad seed available and underachieve every year... but wouldnt spew the garbage about them that one certain CAg has about the steelers... enjoy their loss, but no need to act like an ass about it...

Ive always loved the steelers, they had my favorite players growing up in the 70's, have always been one of the most stable franchises in sports and have the rings to back it up... Im 34 and Tomlin is only the 3rd coach they have had in my lifetime, if they had fired Cowher after his first losing season (as many teams seem to do) they wouldnt have probably won XL... but they lost yeasterday... Im over it, the 4th and 2 play was amazing from Garrard

Cowher lost his first playoff game as well... they need a lot of things this off-season:

1. Sure up that Offensive Line.. it's amazing Ben made it through the whole season while getting sacked way too much...

2. start evolving the defense.. hopefully you draft a quality DE in the draft since Smith is nearing 10 seasons in the NFL... maybe see if it's possible to go to a 4-3 and a tampa 2

3. get rid of the special teams coach and get someone that will improve it

4. I'm not sure Arians is the answer.. maybe give him one more year...Ben can learn to make his own calls and/or recognize audibles....he seemed to get better at it this season and it improved his abilities big time...

5. Someone on the defense needs to step up and become the vocal leader of the defense.. Become the Joey Porter of the defense...
yes im sooo glad i dont have to deal with the idiotic steeler fans at the local bar

this aint steeler country biatchez!!!
Amen. When the win they remind you of how they became fans as kids because they loved how they played(yeah right). Why not just admit that you jumped on that wagon because they were winning SB's and you didn't have the balls to like your home town team. When they lose it's like, the Steelers? Who are they?

It's not the people from Pittsburgh, as much as the idiots who jumped on the bandwagon when they were growing up because they were winning Super Bowls. Like I said I have no problems with the guys and gals actually from the city. Hell, I married a woman from PGH.

In response to that, I became a fan during the 95 season (during, not when they made the playoff run). I was a huge fan of Slash and the rest of the team just grew on me. Since then, I've been a Steelers fan. I'm proud to say they were the first team I regularly followed.

I grew up in Va... granted the Skins were the "local" team, but I never liked them, even while they were so dominant during the 80's... I continued with the my Steelers fandom during a very slow 80's... there ARE bandwagon jumpers... I am not one of them... just because Im not from Pittsburgh doesnt mean I cant be a fan... they are my favorite sports team period... they had already won their first 4 SB's and were mediocre when I became a fan... you argument makes some valid points while missing it completely on others...

I don't understand where all of this Hines Ward comes from. I've never thought of him as a dirty player. I merely wanted Jax to win because I thought they got hosed by that horrible non-call in the endzone. As a Mizzou fan I know how much it sucks to lose games due to horribly blown calls( See the kick ball against #1 Nebraska and the infamous 5th down against Colorado).

Is Cleveland going to end up in the same situation as San Diego from a few years back if they sign Anderson to a long term contract?

They won't be able to pay both he and Quinn once Quinn's rookie contract is up in a couple years.

Steelers got hosed by plenty of calls/non-calls yesterday as well..
giants LOSE 21-17
Fixed. Manning is good for at least 2 picks against this defense and he generally likes to throw them at the most critical times.

ok maybe you're right

giants are looking horrible right now

So we can say they canceled each other out. Steelers lost becuase of the horid play calling. Not kicking the 2 extra points and instead going for 2 pt conversions? Even on the 12 yard line?

Also the Steelers should not have acted like week 17 meant nothing. If they won that game they would have been the 3rd seed and had to play the Titans. But instead they choose the stupid way out and settled for the 4th seed and an inevitable lose to the Jags yesterday.
I really want the Giants to lose. Mostly because my one roommate is a huge fan, and will gloat about them winning.
you an eagles fan?

oh my god! that was the first ballin celebration i saw this year from the giants!

lol reminds me of madden 08.....everytime you get a sack with strahan, the commentator always says "BANG strahan!"

Wrong, SD would have still won against the Raiders and would have had the better record, Tomlin correctly realized that win or lose against the ravens, unless the charges lost to the pitiful raiders, our last game would not have mattered. The only way to get the 3rd seed is if Steelers won against the ravens AND Raides won against the Chargers, since the charges won the steelers game didnt matter.

And anybody bitching about how popular the steelers are, suck it. If I werent a yinzer I too would be pissed by the steelers overwhelming popularity. We are a steelers nation and the most popular football team in america. The ethics and hard nosed blue collar ethos is what makes us so popular. It also doesnt hurt that we have the most (5) superbowl rings (like dallas and ??? 49ers??). This is all evidenced by the fact that at pretty much every away game we go to about half (or sometimes more) the stadium is filled with terrible towels.

While Jax may be advancing further into playoffs (no way they win the superbowl) I woudl still rather be the steelers wtih their unbeleivable fan support. Jax had 3 games blacked out this year because they didnt sell out, thier fan support is pitiable and embarassing. I'm proud of how big the steelers fan base is as it is unparralleled in the history of the NFL.

3 worst plays IMO:

1. Wards' AMAZING 2 pt converstion called back by some phantom holding call.
2. Roeth's pick returned for a TD.
3. JOnes-drew 98 yrd kickoff return.

BTW, who the fuck needs two last names, just go with jones or drew, greedy prick.

I'll say it again. All Steeler fans are rude, arrogant assholes. This proves my point to be more valid ;)

Also I actually think Dallas has a bigger fanbase then the Steelers thus thats why they are "America's Team" still to this date ;)
