NFL 2007 Season Thread

I'll be rootin for the packers since they're alot like the steelers.

Well that and the Patriots are stinkin cheaters, so someone who won't have an asterisk next to their record should win the Superbowl so it won't be teinted.

this kinda sucks. everyone i know hates me for being a giants fan because they all way Brett Favre to go to the superbowl again because he is retiring.

and on top of all of that, Packers are favored to win by EVERYONE.

the only thing we can do, is wait, and hope for some "Eli Magic"

Oh yea, im definetly going to enjoy the win against the cowboys until Sunday!

I'm with you becuzimbrown!
Well, honestly, I despise the Giants and hate the Packers, so I have to go with New York.
I'd also rather have SD up there than NE.
If NE doesn't make it (which they will), I really can't see me enjoying the Superbowl. The 4 remaining teams are easily in my bottom 6 teams (Lions and Bears being the other 2, rounded off by the Seahawks, Cowboys and the Bungles).
You're stupid like all those Romo hating bandwagoners. Romo was not the reason why they lost, Jessica Simpson was not the reason why they lost. The whole team playing like SHIT at the 2nd half is the reason why they lost. Read my previous post to see more in depth of why they lost!

BTW, giving you a heads up, Giants will lose to Packers. Eli will choke. The Manning brothers seem to throw for alot of yards, but they also account for alot of INTs.
Wait. Let me get this straight. The whole fucking NFL rags on Eli EVERY fuckING WEEK, and we make fun of Romo after he gets rocked, and you get upset.

Wooooow.

Actually, no, the Packers aren't like the Steelers - the Packers are still playing while the Steelers are watching from their couches in Sh*tsburgh. Ha ha.
Eil is good, but he isn't good enough to go up against the Packers Defense and not get rattled.

I'll be at the game CAGs! Go Packers!!!
I'll give you my Wii and all my games and controllers for your ticket. Plus there are 19 classic games on it.

i dont know about anyone else, but i was JOKING about all of that. Obviously i know Romo is a tough guy and can handle a couple days in Mexico and come back and play perfectly fine in the playoffs. I DONT actually think Mexico affected his performance at all.

However with Eli, people keep wanting him to choke and throw interceptions (even though he's played really well the past 3 games). They actually believe he's bad, and not in a joking way either.

Romo didn't really play badly last night. I just thought he kinda lost his composure too much at the end of the game. He wasn't the kind of guy the team would've rallied around in the last few minutes. Also poor clock management from him and the coaching staff.

And in my opinion Eli isn't top 10 yet. Off the top of my head, in no definite order I could list Manning, Brady, Palmer, Favre-Brees, Hasselbeck, McNabb, Bulger-Roethlisberger, Romo, Garrard. Then he's probably in a jumble with guys like Cutler, Leinart, Rivers, Garcia, etc. It seems to me like he gets down when he's throwing picks and such, but I like Eli's attitude for the most part.
Palmer
Seriously? Carson Palmer? Blech. There are plenty of QB's better than Palmer, Like Eli Manning for example. Then again, I've never thought Palmer to be that good. Housh and Chad are the reason he's done well IMO.

I think Eli is better than McNabb (now) and Garrard... maybe Bulger too. I'd take any of the others over him though (well, except Favre since he is not long for the league). I guess I'd take Romo even though he hasn't proven he can win in the playoffs - I think he is a better football player and will probably have a beter career than Eli.

A QB can only be as good as his O-Line if keep him upright. ;)

I'm one of those people, although I have to say, I have been very impressed with Eli's performance in the playoffs so far. We'll see if he can keep up his performance against Green Bay.

He does have some great receivers, but I still think he's a great QB. He tends to throw high, but he may have the best deep ball in the league. He had an off year this year. We'll see how he bounces back.

I'd still like to think McNabb is a top 5 QB provided he can string together a couple healthy seasons, but I'm gonna have to give that up soon :whistle2:#

I have no huge problem with putting Eli over Garrard. Right now I think Eli is in that "solid QB" spot, with no quality that really elevates him over the rest.

Or how they were giving Grossman a hard time every damn day and he still played in the Superbowl...

Well, in Grossman's case... 0.0 QB rating? Say what?

pittpizza is the one who has been acting holier-than-thou all season (I'd love to hear someone try and deny that). And all the biased, bitter NE haters are past the point of annoyance into amusement. So yeah, I'm going to start pointing the middle finger back.

I'm letting you all whine, now you'll listen to some ribbing in return.

Nice work, New York. I knew you could do it. I hate Eli for his draft day douchebaggery, but it was kind of fun to watch him to stick it to all the Cowboy fans saying that he'd definitely throw a killer pick.

I'm sticking with New York in the NFC Championship game.

Someone brought up an interesting scenario on the radio. In the odd event of the Chargers actually beating the Patriots (his words not mine), and the Giants beating the Packers, this would make for a pretty interesting Superbowl. Eli facing the team he snubbed would be wild.

The local sports radio show host here was going on about how he was amazed the Chargers won despite what he called a "conspiracy" to allow the Colts to win.

well its not like Eli acts like a douche now....Its all Philip Rivers. You saw how he acted towards Jay Cutler, and those Colts fans yesterday. I know this is a highly emotional game, but at some point you gotta draw the line. You can't have that kind of attitude especially with fans.

You ask me the only quarterback of the 4 left that has an ounce of class is Brett Favre. Not only does he outclass the other 3 main QBs but he outclasses the entire NFL, and this is coming from someone who can't stand the Packers... You better believe if they make the Super Bowl though I'll be cheering for them.

no doubt...Brett Favre is the classiest (if thats even a word lol) football player i've ever seen.
no doubt...Brett Favre is the classiest (if thats even a word lol) football player i've ever seen.
He's humble, that's the word :p, although he was (and still is a bit) of a hard head on the field

He will always be remembered for that also, I enjoyed seeing the film of him and Holmgren, it seemed like Holmgren always wanted to rip him a new one

He still snubbed the team. But I couldn't believe Rivers' actions yesterday. It's slightly excusable to act that way to a division rival's team (Broncos), but to the fans of a team you play maybe once a year?! What's the motive? Because they called you names? Grow up Rivers. I know earlier this year I said the Pats had no class but this year they've shown nothing but respect. Now Rivers? There's somebody with no class.
The local sports radio show host here was going on about how he was amazed the Chargers won despite what he called a "conspiracy" to allow the Colts to win.
I don't know about a conspiracy, but the refs were giving just about every call to the Colts (mainly the phantom pass interfierance on Florence and holding call on Weddel). That being said, does it matter? The Chargers still won so even if there was one, it wasn't that good.;)

This would be the lamest, most unwatchable game EVAR! No one cares about the Giants or the Bolts. Anyway, enough rant, 'cause everyone knows it won't happen.

Tiger Uppercut!!;)

If the Giants make it to the Super Bowl it will be an amazing accomplishment considering I had them down for a 4-12 season after Tiki retired and their big off season acquisition was Rueben Droughens. Shockey (broken leg), Kiwanuka (knee), O'Hara (knee), Ward (knee), Madison (stomach) and now Ross (shoulder) are all starters and are all injured. Jacobs missed time too. It's been an amazing season and I don't want it to end - if they play up to their potential it should be a great game.

Has anyone discussed the Colts fans booing that Pass-Punt-Kick kid with the Patriots jersey at halftime. How the fuck you gonna boo a child? Perhaps that pissed me off a little more than it should have, but it was fucking ridiculous.

Are we sure it wasn't Bill Polian's noise machine that booed?

She laughed it off at first, then she got to laugh at them. Those Colts fans got theirs.
That bitch should be kicked in the mouth for wearing that garbage, she's lucky all that happened was booing
O_O

That was pretty low, it's one thing to boo at the team, but another when it's a winner of a kid's competition >.>

When that happened I was like, "fuuuuuuuck, I feel bad for her"

They probably booed her because she cheated to win the competition.

Man, people always find a way to fit that in there XD

hmm... Norm Chow fired today... dont know how I feel about that. I actaully thought they should have kept him for atleast 1 more year.

Don't worry, Polian will change the rules next year to favor the Colts fans.

Don't pretend for a second that if the situation was reversed, the same thing wouldn't have happened. Also, God forbid anyone wins a contest and comes to Fenway wearing a Yankees jersey.

Same thing would have happened in Dallas (Philly winner), Green Bay (Chicago winner) or Foxboro (Indy winner).

Let's not throw stones, people.

Ok I grant that a kid wearing a Yankees jersey in Fenway would get it rough but no way would an Indy jersey in Foxboro draw that reaction. Indy doesn't raise the hackles because the majority of the time the Pats have gotten the better of them. And it is looking like last year was just the exception to the rule

That Patriots team was horribly depleted, and they were still one Reche Caldwell drop away from the Superbowl.

and that pats players wont admit it but alot were battling the Flu and the colts stadium was unusually hot that day.

2008 schedules are out.

Apparently Detroit has the 9th Toughest Schedule (based on opponents win %), while the Patriots got the EASIEST!!!! Go figure.

Of course they got the easiest (again) because their division is horrible. They play teams with a combined 24-72 record right there (a .250 winning %). Contrast that with the Colts who get teams in their division with a combined record of 58-38 (a .604 winning %). Of course the Pats are going to get another first round bye because their competition is inferior.
