NFL 2007 Season Thread

Have the Giants ever heard of the HURRY UP OFFENSE? I haven't seen clock management this bad since Bob Davies was the head coach at Notre Dame.
13-4?
They should have lost against the Colts, Eagles, and Ravens. The Giants should have put this game away as well.

The fact that they all just gave the game away at the end put me into that "Break your television" mode.

Oh shut the fuck up Collinsworth. He's now saying the Pats aren't one of the all time teams if they don't win the Super Bowl while he's been performing fellatio on them since what, week 6? Can someone please shoot this douchebag?

13-4 is 17 games, buddy.

Kneeldown time!

Ok, 12-4. That's as far as you argue. I'm still trying to figure out why they score a TD with a minute left instead of scoring it to put the game away.

Inf is a Packers fan so counting an entire 16 game season is a litte tough for him... ;)

Just joking with ya man. As a Bears fan I pretty much have to. :)

I hope the Pats choke on all of that humble pie they're supposedly eating...

Let me be the first to say 16-0*

Seriously though they should name Eli Manning the game MVP. Not only did he throw the critical pick, he also make sure the Giants huddled up and ran as much time off the clock as possible.

Your bitterness pleases us.

First 16-0 team
Most TD throws in a season
Most TD catches in a season
Most points scored in a season
Countless other records

Props to the Giants for making this a war until the 4th quarter. They wanted this game. Eli looked like Peyton for 3 quarters... And unfortunately looked like Peyton in the 4th as well, except Peyton can run a 2 minute offense.

Fireworks are exploding in the air as I write this. This is an historic event. I'm sure the Endzone Militia is going crazy as well.
Man, Plex should have never left the Steelers.

Tisk Tisk Tisk.
Naw, it was time for him to go. I still wouldn't even want him now.

Gratz Pats. It's definitely an incredible feat.
They should consider themselves lucky that they got caught in Week 1 rather than later in the season, though. Mangini really would've done some damage if he waited until now to reveal it :)

Haha, I see how it is. It also sucks cuz the Packers got their asses handed to em' this past game #-o

They better use the Lions as a punching bag to get the loss out of their system.

I had to watch Lethal Weapon, so now I'm more relaxed :D

Congratulations to the Patriots but they still got 3 more to go.

Jerry Rice is the greatest WR of all time, and that season was a great accomplishment. But, he did have 18 other opportunities in 16 game seasons and he didn't do it.

A lot of single season records need to be prefaced by the league switching from a 14 game schedule.

Where did all these Patriots fans come from anyway? Ten years ago when I was back in Boston you had to look long and hard to find one. No one gave a shit about the Pats.
You couldn't find a Pats fan when they went to the Super Bowl in 97? Must've been in the wrong part of Boston.
Yeah the Pats have been popular for 10-15 years, before that they were a newer team so it took several years for the fans to move to the Pats.

My dad never became a Pats fan, he would be very sad today (He was a Giants fan), and HATED the Pats.

No one is worse than the Cowboys "fans" who were nowhere to be found in the last 5 years, but are now spotted in droves wearing Romo and Owens jerseys. I can not wait until Romo blows yet another playoff game.

This a thousand times! As a Pittsburgh fan living in the middle of Texas, nothing is sadder. It's even worse when they can't even name who was the starting QB last year before Romo.

I'm glad the Pats went 16-0 just so I can say that I was there when it happened. Regardless of WHO broke the record, it's awesome to see.

yeah but you have to agree with him. You win 16 games and you cant make it to the super bowl? thats an all time disappointment and you dont deserve to be called a great team all-time. All the greats solidified their great seasons with the championships at the end. Thats what the pats have to do. solidify their great regular season with a historic post season..than new england can shut everyone up.

Congrats to them though. they could have lost anytime but they didnt. kevin faulk and Wes Welker saved them today. Welker is just stupendous and Faulk got the firsts when they really needed it. Faulk deserves some respect which most wont give him any...thats what i atleast thought when i watched tonights game. If Eli can show up like that for 4 quarters and not 3...and if GMEN can actually think in the last 2 minutes..they can surely roll over tampa.

Preachin' to the choir my friend!

Hey is that a FG snap coming? WHOOPS!

It's called a band wagon. Happens with any team that starts winning.

My cousin was a Cowboys fan went they were great in the 90s, pissed me off.

And frankly the annoucer is right, what difference does it make if you win 16 games when you can win the games that really count, aka the playoffs and the Super Bowl?

An addendum to my "Congrats to the Pats."

Congrats to the Pats and your real (non-bandwagon fans).

From a sports store I visited this morning, after noticing a "fan" buying up both a Brady and Moss jersey:

Me: Congrats. Been a long time fan?
"Fan": Hell yeah. Pats all the way!
M: Oh, what was the name of that Pro Bowl Tight End you had quite a few years back? He was really good. One of the top TEs of all-time. I think I saw him on a sideline one time.
"": I don't know.
M: Pro-Bowler. Huge target for Bledsoe back when he played?
"": **Looks at me dumbfounded.**
M: Oh, that's right. Ben Coates. He was awesome. So who was your favorite player back then?
"": Tom Brady
M: I thought you were a long-time fan?
"": I am, I just started following them when Brady started playing.
M: Right. When they started winning you mean?
"": *shuffles away**

So again, congrats to the real Pats' fans who've been there for more than the past four years.

Heh Ben winter Coates was the man.

The tightend before him Marv Cook was pretty good too if he had somebody better than Hugh Millen throwing to him he may have had a better career

I am pissed about the outcome of the game but I don't understand how most Patriots fans can be so cocky. I've seen them play probably 8 or 9 times this season and any real fan knows they could have lost 2-3 games but had the breaks go their way every single time. Yes, I know great teams "find a way to win" and I'm not disputing that the Pats are great - I just won't be surprised at all if the Colts, Cowboys or someone else beats them in the playoffs. They are totally beatable.

The Pats are very beatable. It seemed as the season went on the Pats Defense got worse and worse.
