NFL Knockout Pool: Congrats to our winner, brandonheat!

So many ppl picked my Seahawks! Hope they don't let you down like the Patriots just did. :)

I can't believe only 1 team is still undefeated.

Stop whining. He noted it in the OP, it was available to everyone, and I used it. Get over it.
I remember it in the Admiral's pool... pretty much a tradition now - the teams get one, so do we.
Knowing when to use it is now part of the game.

Yes, the reason this pool has the bye week option is because the Admiral's pool had them. Last year I was thinking it was too bad the Admiral stopped doing his pool; it was an annual CAG tradition that I very much looked forward to each year. When I decided to continue the tradition myself, I wanted to recreate it as it was, so I carried over the byes.

It wouldn't surprise me if Methoes wasn't the only person in the contest not crazy about the byes, but I think you're taking the right approach. It's a level playing field because everyone gets one, so it becomes a strategic element of the contest. I'm running a knockout pool IRL as well, and there's no byes in that one, but I like it as part of the CAG pool tradition.

Week 4 was a rough one.

The most popular choices for last unbeaten and last winless were the Pats and Jets respectively. They now have the same record at 2-2 and are a game behind the Bills.

Week 4: Arizona Cardinals

Week 5: Buffalo Bills

Picking my Bills... They broke my heart 4 times in the 90s, better pull out a win against the basement-dwelling Browns.

Hope no one gets mad at me for helping the guy out. But the BIlls are facing the Bengals, not the Browns. FYI

I hate picking what a bunch of other people have, but the numbers suggest it's the right call so:

Week 5: Pittsburgh Steelers

Everyone has their picks in, so the pool is now locked.  Good luck this week.

RIP anyone who picked the Steelers.

Thanks for hosting this Survival Pool this year Danimal :)
You're welcome.

I'm currently running two knockout pools IRL as well, and this Steelers loss has been a bloodbath in them. The second pool I'm running just started this week (after several people who got knocked out early in the original pool requested another pool)- it began with 36 people, 18 of whom had the Steelers. They took out me, my wife, and my father (my father was in both pools, and had Pittsburgh in both of them) To make matters worse, I'm a diehard Steelers fan, so I watched the whole ugly affair on NFL Sunday Ticket. This has not been a happy day in the Danimal household. :wall:

Ben and his 5 INTs killed me too. Danimal, thanks for running this year's contest. I appreciate all the time & prizes you put into it.

My daughter, who loves all things Shakespeare, recently had a birthday.  Also, this weekend felt a bit like a Shakespearean tragedy, with my two favorite teams (the Steelers in football, the Red Sox in baseball) each going down in flames spectacularly, so for those reasons, I'm using quotes from the Bard to delineate our winners and losers lists for the week.
