Took them from http://www.sbnation.com/nhl/2013/4/28/4280456/nhl-playoff-schedule-2013-quarterfinals.

Predictions:

EAST:

Pittsburgh- New York Islanders: PENS
Montreal- Ottawa: SENS (Montreal riot incoming)
Washington- New York Rangers: CAPS (Rick Nash scores only 1 goal and Torts gets fired)
Boston- Toronto: BRUINS

WEST:

Chicago- Minnesota: BLACKHAWKS
Anaheim- Detroit: RED WINGS (homer pick)
Vancouver- San Jose: CANUCKS
St. Louis- Los Angeles: KINGS (I don't want to watch the Blues)

Predictions:

EAST:

Pittsburgh- New York Islanders: PENS
Montreal- Ottawa: HABS
Washington- New York Rangers: RAGS
Boston- Toronto: BRUINS

WEST:

Chicago- Minnesota: BLACKHAWKS
Anaheim- Detroit: DUCKS
Vancouver- San Jose: SHARKS (MY PRESEASON CUP PICK, GOTTA RIDE THEM ALL THE WAY BABY)
St. Louis- Los Angeles: KINGS

I can't see it being anything other than a Pens-Hawks Cup Final. They're simply too dominant this season, and their first round opponents don't even belong in the playoffs.

Pens - Islanders: Islanders (I can dream right... ?)
Habs - Sens: Sens (I can dream right... ?)
Caps - Rangers: Don't care (Meh)
Bruins - Leafs: Leafs (I can dream right... ?)

Hawks - Wild: Hawks
fucks - Wings: Detoilet (fuck the fucks...)
Canucks - Sharks: Cansucks (Sharts will show up and literally give away the game... See Turn over stat...)
Blues - Queens: Blues

Can't wait to get the playoffs underway.

Let's go Hawks!

Pittsburgh- New York Islanders: Penguins (although, I'd like to see the Isles make some waves)
Montreal- Ottawa: Sens
Washington- New York Rangers: Rangers
Boston- Toronto: Maple Leafs

WEST:

Chicago- Minnesota: Hawks
Anaheim- Detroit: Red Wings (as much as it pains me to say this)
Vancouver- San Jose: Sharks
St. Louis- Los Angeles: Kings

I wish it would a Senators vs Detroit Stanley cup. But I can only dream.

My way

Eastern Conference:
Pittsburgh v. NY Islanders - Pittsburgh in 6
- I think NY will give Pittsburgh trouble, and it might force Pittsburgh to play Crosby sooner than they want.
Montreal v. Ottawa - Montreal in 5
- Montreal played well in the final 2 games, and they'll basically have home ice for all 7 games in this series.
Washington v. NY Rangers - Washington in 6
- I think the Capitals are playing really good hockey right now, and the Rangers aren't as good of a team as they were last year.
Boston v. Toronto - Boston in 7
- Both teams really struggled at the end of the season, so this is a perfect series for both to get the kinks out of the way, but I think Boston snaps out of it first.

Western Conference:
Chicago v. Minnesota - Chicago in 4
- This one is entirely on Minnesota. I can't see how they matchup with the Blackhawks at any level right now.
Anaheim v. Detroit - Detroit in 6
- Detroit matches up extremely well with Anaheim, not to mention that they're playing really well at a good time.
Vancouver v. San Jose - San Jose in 5
- San Jose has deceptively good goaltending and they swept the season series versus the Canucks.
St. Louis vs. Los Angeles - Los Angeles in 7
- I can't see this going anything but 7 games, but I give the Kings the advantage because they're the reigning Champions.

WOW, I'm glad to see some thinking the Blues will beat the Kings and even one person thinking it wont be a sweep and go to 7. I'm expecting Chicago to go all the way to the finals, but lose to an east coast team. I'm hoping that some how the Blues can some how make it to the finals, but I realize their history and I will be happy if the game against the Kings isn't a sweep.

With me working nights now and having things to do on the weekends I will be lucky to see any playoff games.

EDIT: Looks like the Vegas odds are out. That is if it is not fake.

Tonight's Matchups:
W8 - Minnesota @ W1 - Chicago: 8pm EST (NBCSN)
W5 - LA Kings @ W4 - St. Louis: 8pm EST (CNBC)
W7 - Detroit @ W2 - Anaheim: 10:30pm EST (NBCSN)

The Wild goalie injured himself during warmups, so he won't play tonight.

NHL Center Ice sucks! Three games tonight and all three blacked out in my market. I knew the Wings would be but this is some bullshit. Won't be getting it next year.

I saw that Fox Sports Midwest is showing the first 4 games for the Blues and Kings. I thought I would be able to catch the replay. I guess they aren't doing that.

Tonight's Matchups:
E5 - Toronto @ E4 - Boston: 7pm EST (CNBC)
E8 - NY Islanders @ E1 - Pittsburgh: 7:30pm EST (NBCSN)
W6 - San Jose @ W3 - Vancouver: 10:30pm EST (NBCSN)

Luongo is starting for the Canucks. Perhaps this is his chance at redemption? No? I didn't think so either.

That's some crazy bullshit right there. What's the point of paying the premium if you still get blacked out?

All I've managed to watch so far was the start of the Sharks/Canucks game last night. The pace and intensity of that game was incredible, playoff hockey :bouncy:

Only game I will be able to watch till the weekend is the Blues and Kings game tonight. After that it is weekend games only.

Nice win by the Caps tonight. Started out normally, start strong, get a bad break/bounce, go down 1-0. But they kept on trucking for the victory. That's good coaching. I'm not used to it.

Surprised the Canadians got beat so badly too.

Agreed. I did not see that coming. Sounds like Eller only has a broken nose potentially and not a concussion?

Anderson just showed Price how good he is going to have to play to win the series.

Haven't heard any follow up on Eller until here, very glad to hear it.

Ducks-Red Wings going to OT after the Ducks were down 4-1 with 10 minutes to go in the 3rd. Amazing comeback.

The first two periods were hard to watch at Scottrade. I really thought it was a goal when a mic went in the net on Quick. When they announced Jackman got the winning goal I thought I missed who got it and thought Jackman got the assist. Damn good third period. I really hope they sweep the kings. I never expected them to bee doing as good as they are. I would have been happy for them to win one game.

Breakdown in the third was tough to swallow (and I did think that we would drop the ball completely in OT) but hell the Wings grabbed one on the road and that's all that matters.

EDIT: DeKeyser may be done for the playoffs. That is rather unfortunate.

After that 3rd period I was shocked Detroit won it. I haven't seen a meltdown like that in such a long time.

As a Sens fan, this is a bullshit call. As a hockey fan, this is a bullshit call. The puck was going to Eller who had his head down. As everyone pointed out, it was a "suicide pass". Gryba wasn't bending down lower, he was in full check mode and Eller turned towards Gryba with his head still down.

TERRIBLE call by Shanahan.

It didn't look like Gryba was targeting the head. Eller did look like he had his head down. I actually got hit similar to this last week, well okay, not similar because it's a goofy mens league and not the NHL. I had my head down though looking/waiting for a pass and got my block wrong. That was my fault, need to be looking up.

Nasty hit, yes.
Is it a shame Eller got hurt, yes.

I'm not digging the name calling that's going back and forth now. Especially with Prust said today.

I think the suspension was good, but that's just me.

The Islanders sucking it up again. Seriously. They have no idea what they're doing.

I'd like to hear your reasoning for it being a good suspension.

Perhaps he's a Habs fan? Otherwise I see no reason for that to have been a suspension.

Thats what I'm thinking. Thats why I'm wondering his reason.

He seems to take notice of Gryba before putting his head down. Probably thought he wouldn't get hit because it would likely have been considered blindside territory. Either way, he was careless. I feel Gryba could have put more effort into making it a clean body hit, easily by lowering his center of gravity which delivers a harder hit anyway.

Nonetheless, head appears to be the principle point of contact.

Glad they came out with a win tonight, this is what last night would have been had Anderson not played as good. Glad to see Prust wearing the "A" in the captain's absence.

He could simply be outrageously wrong in anything hockey-related. He is a Caps fan, and he was yukking up the Islanders a few hours ago. How'd that game turn out tonight?

;)

As a hockey player (along with some others here), I just feel as if Gryba was not head hunting. The number one rule of hockey (and big in majors), keep your head up. Gryba was going Shoulder to chest but with Ellers head down it looks like it, thus it looks more shoulder to shoulder. I just think the suspension is uncalled for.

Could be in good part to avoid the Montreal shit storm that would have otherwise ensued.

I'd love to find a gif for when Zibanejad was going near cross-eyed on the puck in the refs hand, only a couple of inches from his face before the puck drop. LOL.

As a Caps fan, I DESPISE the Penguins with every fiber of my being. So I'm glad that my words of motivation inspired the Islanders to victory tonight.

As for the suspension, the guy got hit in the head, which the NHL, like the NFL, wants to avoid as much as possible. They're concerned that it happened, nothing else matters.

He didn't get hit in the head. It's a shoulder to shoulder hit though. If Eller had his head up, it would have been a Shoulder to chest hit.

Watched Game 2 of the MTL/OTT series. Montreal completely controlled the first period while Ottawa couldn't put together a solid powerplay which was their only hope. Karlsson was average as well. Was really impressed by Rene Bourque who was in the face of the Sens and also set up Ryder with with the cushion goal. Going by the first two games I think Montreal is going to take the series.

I personally would not have suspended Gryba but alright. (He was bleeding from his nose if I saw correctly which could have been induced from hitting the ice)

How should I feel about the Sharks winning game 2? I mean I kind of like it but Torres? I feel so conflicted. By the way where have the Sedin twins been so far?

Ha!
If he didn't get hit in the head, he wouldn't have been bleeding from the head.
The bleeding and facial cuts is from hitting his face on the ice. Not the hit.
