Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword

Chapter 3 has been the only hard/difficult chapter I've encountered so far. But that's also mostly because of the damn leeches in the level.

Found a funny glitch.

I'm in Chapter 5 and in the Underground Mausoleum I was killed and knocked off the stone bridge by a zombie archer. The funny part is that I am 'alive' but I can only run around and attack but the little critters that should be attacking me aren't moving. Pause buttons don't work and neither does Ninpo. I should really be looking at game over. Oops. I took a video of it. It's not the best (from my phone) but it demostrates what's going on easily. I'll upload it to youtube soon.

RESTART!

I loved Zelda PH with its all stylis play but I really didnt think it would work for this game. Glad I was wrong I am only an hour in but I am really liking it so far. Very easy to get into. I stopped playing Layton and FFCC for this.

I'm glad to hear this is a good one. I'm going to have to pick it up, but probably not until tomorrow evening. Hopefully GS still has it in stock as I have Edge trade-in credit to burn.

I really really can't wait to pick this up. I'm waiting for estarland to process my trade-in and now NG : DS is out of stock on their site. Joy! :bomb:

I was excited for this one and I'm blown away from a fun factor and from a techonolical factor that this game looks, plays, and sounds this awesome on the DS.

Get yourself some headphones and a comfy seat.

ok, I'm completely stumped and I know what I need to do is right under my nose.

I'm
in chapter 4, I've gotten the first dark dragonstone and I can't figure out where to go/what to do. I'm at the two big doors that look like they have empty holes in them for something to be placed, but I've explored all I can and I can't find where to go.
. Any help?

Get used to using your magic to do other stuff besides fighting. Something needs to be triggered elsewhere.

Ninja Gaiden on Xbox must be hard as hell for people to be saying this game is easy. I won't say it's brutal, cause I've only died once through 3 and a half chapters, but starting in Chapter 3, it sure as heck isn't easy.
Just beat Normal. What a great ride!
Totally.

Yes. NG Black is hard as hell. I didn't start really dying until the last couple of chapters. I died on a boss or two before then. Most of my deaths are from me just scribbling like a mad man trying to pull of U.T.s all the time. The actual challenge didn't kick in until the last two bosses for me. I'm currently ranked 70 in the world. If it weren't for all those cheaters I'd have a better idea of where I really rank.

And after I found out that Head Ninja < Master Ninja I immediately knocked my game up a notch and got Master Ninja from that point forward. Annihilation is my middle name.

Yeah this is incredibly easy compared to NG Black.

That game is rough, especially when you get to Alma with no healing items at all. Good times. But the game, despite of (because of?) it's pretty rocking challenge, is awesome. It and RE4 were the two best games of the last generation I think.

I need to finish up Sigma one of these days. Playing on Ninja Dog is fun because it takes a good bit of the frustration out of it all. I earned my frustration right of passage the first go round. ;)

Now I'll just wait for all the posts saying "I beat mega hard mode on NG:B and I'm MISSING AN ARM" or something. Congrats in advance. ;)

Dragon Sword is awesome. Buy it.

The Xbox game is very difficult, especially on the harder difficulties, but I think the difficulty of this game is a bit understated. I only died a few times on my playthrough, but I was near death a lot of the time on the later levels. The A.I. is surprisingly good--they keep the pressure on and will team up at times (especially the projectile enemies.)

original ninja gaiden for NES?

because that is an incredible gaming achievement.

I do have my VC game saved at like the last segment of the last level but I just gave up there and haven't returned to it.
dammit wtf do you need to say to get the birds?
Just blow in the mic when you hear them. Then start hacking away until you hit it.

The last hit on the last boss is evil. Classic team ninja..."yeah, just one more hit and you're dead, no problem...wait, wat"

How many "chapters" is it.

I've been playing it now and again and i'm somewhere on 8 I think.
Hasn't been very challenging for me as of yet. I never played the Xbox Gaiden's.... I hear those are hard as hell. In this I find that swinging the stylus just seems to kill everything and I hardly ever block.

Plus those respawn enemy points should either move to different rooms or have been taken out after you kill them. There's a wasp bridge in chapter 7 that you can just keep going in the same room over and over getting $ orbs, like 500 each time you go in and out. If you sit on that you could have unlimited cash later to buy whatever upgrades.

13 chapters, from what I'm told.

Just finished Chapter 7. As I expected issues of game length aren't a big deal for me, as I tend to play about a chapter or so at a time. Odds are I won't finish this till sometime in the middle of the week.

Hell you don't even have to do that. You should always have enough essence at the start of a new chapter to buy upgrades. Then again, if you aren't doing U.T.s like you should I can see why it might be necessary to farm. Game is crazy forgiving even in that regard.

I'm disappointed that the flying demons in Chapter 12 came so late. They were so cool. They should have moved them back to chapter 11 OR extended chapter 13 into a full chapter.

How many difficulty levels are in the game? And I don't mind that the game takes roughly 6-8 hrs to complete, but how is the replay value on it?

Also, are there any melee weapons besides Dragon Sword that you can unlock/get in the game?

Alright, someone help me with the Chapter 10 boss. The weapons... they do nothing.

Edit: And I am victorious. Only took about ten tries.

Sounds like you'll finish the game much earlier than estimated, botticus.

I'm McLovin' this game. Yeah, it's more forgiving than console NG, but still a rockin' good time and hell, it's more than enough challenge for me. The older I get, the slower my reflexes become. :p

Alright. Playing 'Head Ninja' AKA Normal difficulty now.

I'm in Chapter 3. You can't get away with doing that scribbling all over enemies like you can in Normal. I barely made it out alive after that battle before the second boss. And then barely made it out of that battle. I'm still a 'Master Ninja' though. And with enough planning I can perform a crap ton of U.T.s still. But you can feel the change in difficulty. Enemies are way more aggressive and defensive at the same time.

And has anyone unlocked Momiji yet? That damn dragon boss is hard as hell to beat. You can only be hit like four times before it's ggpo.

Picked it up yesterday. Really cool and a whole lot of fun.

The cheaters bug me. Sucks that they've ruined the world rankings and it kills some of the replay value for me

QFT, i used to be able burn through contra on the nes, and megaman x on the snes... now i'm like "fuck this is hard"

I had 5 million karma through Chapter 9, and some non-cheaters (I assume) were looking at 100 million, without even a complete game. But there are apparently not many people using the leaderboards - when I uploaded that 5 million, I was around 1000.

100 million is cheating. I have around 7million at the end of the game. I don't see how you can reach such a high level. Unless time spent in a level isn't factored into your Karma score. If that's the case, you can just keep going back and killing enemies in a level full of respawners. But that's gross.
And has anyone unlocked Momiji yet? That damn dragon boss is hard as hell to beat. You can only be hit like four times before it's ggpo.
You can unlock it on 'normal' mode to ease up a bit. EDIT: once you've beaten the game once on normal.

What I did was
Repeated double jump -> Flying Swallow. That hits the dragon and gets you behind it. You've still gotta be careful, but with a little patience it works.

you can't do that-- you only get points when fighting a group for the first time. the people are using pro action replay codes.

You get a tour of the team ninja factory and get to watch oompa loompas program the breast physics for DoA:XBV3!

how many chapters total in the game I think I'm on like 4 or 5 now and I haven't put "that" much time into it(still having a blast with it though).

I don't really care about learder boards since I never get near the top.
But I do hate it when people cheat, whats the point?
Do they actually feel like they are in 1st? What loosers.

I think they should delete & not let the people back on the boards that have 99999999999999. And maybe have some other way of finding who cheated and knock em all off the leader boards.

Those of you who've beaten it, did you get like a cleared game save or does it just stay at the last check point? I wanted to go back to some of the challenges, but I guess that's not possible.

I wasn't having too much trouble with the game......until I got to Nicchae. Man, I can't beat this broad to save my life. Hell, I have a hard time just trying to do some heavy damage to her to no avil

I was about to ask for tips on beating that big black/red demon guy on Chapter 5. But tried one more time before I posted and beat him
That guy was pretty hard.
