I beat it a few weeks ago. Then I decided to pop in Shinobi. I was so used to the controls and precision of Ninja Gaiden that I couldn't really play it. Damn you Ninja Gaiden! :joystick:

I think I am going to have a hard time getting into oher action games now. Ninja Gaiden controlled better than anything I can think of (only DMC is close IMO).

It's weird, I now accept the death/retry cycle alot better since playing Ninja Gaiden. I started going, "oh, I died" instead of "$#@#% this, you #$@#%@! #@$@! @#$@."

No need to worry Ninja Gaiden 1.1 will be out soon...

yeah...ninja gaiden just makes you accept dying hundreds of times and after awhile you just assume it's part of the game play ;-)

Oh, I'll definitely be downloading 1.1.

Dying in Ninja Gaiden didn't bother me because I felt it was THE GAME beating me, not poor design. Also, everytime I died, I learned something from it and the next time wasn't as difficult.

Yeah I agree. But that didn't stop me from getting pissed and cursing everything good and holy... but I keep coming back for more like some S&M freak.
what do you mean? i havent even died once
Now that's the funniest thing I've heard all week. :)

Thats kinda funny, if anything I got better with Shinobi after playing NG, less frustrating when I got owned by a boss or bottomless pit

After I beat all of the games I have now, I'll pick this game up. It might be awhile though.

While Ninja Gaiden's smooth controls could've ruined you, this may not be your problem. Shinobi's gameplay ruins a lot, namely my enjoyable experience of playing the game and my controller as I toss it away in disgust of the cheap deaths.

I am really hoping the 1.1 update fixes some of the camera problems....

In some points the game should adapt a DMC feel where it's a static camera rather then always moving and zooming...IMO of course.

lol

For me(IMO) Ninja Gaiden is the best Action/adventure(?) game out there.

I read the preview on ign and the camera is supposed to be way better for the update, this is gonna rock!

i beat ninja gaiden, so i take a stab at the very hard difficulty- damn! the guys on horseback you fight before the final boss at the end of chapter 2 are insane- definitely a spot where i am not a fan of the camera angle and definitely a spot where death comes often

I didn't like Ninja Gaiden. I don't have too much time to play video games, so I don't like to spend my time dying and retrying the same 10 minutes of a game over and over.

I think the conversation at Team Ninja went something like this:

Guy#1: "Hey lots of people are talking about you Ninja Gaiden is so difficult."

Guy#2: "I got an idea. Let's make this thing called Ninja Gaiden 1.1. Then we can make the game even harder."

Guy#1: "Yeah, that'll teach those suckers."

Ninja Gaiden was not as hard as everybody said it was. I beat it in a rental period and only looked a couple of times at GameFaqs. As for the control, I thought it was very good, but the camera was very bad. Team Ninjo knew it too, that's why they made the swan dive move that homes in on enemies, which are often offscreen because of the crappy camera. I think that DMC is the best action game ever, which is sad because it came out a few years ago and DMC2 was no way near as good. I agree with vanlandw in that Ninja Gaiden should have had a static camera in some parts.

I think you have to adopt a sort of Zen state when you're playing Ninja Gaiden. Accepting your inevitable death every five to ten minutes, and realizing that you are now stronger for it. Or something.
try popping in Genma Onimusha after Gaiden...

i had to deprogram the tight controls of NG out of my mind...
I never got used to the Xbox version, but after a while I got used to the control. Onimusha is one of my favorite games

ninja gaiden isn't that hard, once you've mastered the art of blocking, its pretty damn easy

i probably died a total of 15 times on that whole game....the first 10 being with the first boss because i didnt know how important mastering blocking was
ninja gaiden isn't that hard,
Agreed. I'm one of the few who liked Shinobi a hell of a lot better than Ninja Gaiden.

Ninja Gaiden's learning curve is what frustrates most people. It is hard at first. The enemies are generally smarter than in most games. Any game is easier once you learn how to play it.

I really didn't die much either... on some boss fights I would get killed. However, most of the time I would reset the game myself because I didn't want to use a potion or I used a scroll of resurection ( I figured from the get go I would just save these for the lass boss fight). So as trust company said:" ninja gaiden isn't that hard, once you've mastered the art of blocking, its pretty damn easy " I beat it like three times... once just to upgrade all of my weapons. I love the giant beat stick!

in my opinion ninja gaiden is one the greatest if not the greatest action/adventure game of ALL time. especially since their upgrading it to 1.1. over time i've heard alot of people flame ng saying "oh it's not that good..." and most of the time i just think people diss the game because it kicks their ass. some people can't stand not being good at games, so they immediately rag on the game, when all the have to do is get better at it.
for those people that have beat it, like me, yes it gets alot easier once you learn to predict attacks that are coming, and master the art of blocking and rolling. can't wait for august 2 to hurry up and get here!!!
oh yeah--- Cheapy D buy this game and beat it before you upgrade it, that way you get more replay value out of it, and you will really appreciate Team Ninja for making the upgrade. here's why: if you immediatly upgrade the game without beating it, you're going to have a tougher time with it, because they A.I. is going to be tougher. you might just give up playing it before you really give the game a chance a.k.a. not letting yourself improve, thus seeing how great the game can really be. just my opinion though.
