Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 $44.99 @ Amazon w/ FS
Again this is a great game. Not sure why everyone else doesn't like it. Am I weird? :whistle2:#
I don't think people's issues revolve around their like / dislike for the game. I think most CAG's have decided that, because the 360 version has hit bargain bin pricing, they're not willing to spend much more than that for the Sigma version on the PS3.

I am in this same camp: I'd really like to own this game, but seeing as I've waited this long, what's another few months of waiting for an official price drop?

You're not weird at all. Personally, I do like the game. It's just that from an NG vet, they did a lot of things wrong. Making the difficulty a lot easier was one of the biggest mistakes. For every thing they did right in this game to fix some of the flaws in NG2, it seems like they took many steps backwards.

Want a few examples?
-No New Game+
-You can't upgrade your weapons fully until very late in the game (the weapons at lvl 3 were very fun to use)
-Nerfed difficulty
-A LOT less enemies, just look at Chapter 14 in NGS2 compared to Ch. 11 in NG2 (same chapter, they just had the girls in NGS2, moving it up to Ch.14)
-Team Missions are laggy
-They STILL didn't fix the scoring system, so people can farm UTs and there is no way to tell what the true scores are

With that said this game did do a few things right, and being an NG fan I still like it, but it's my least favorite console NG game.

Am i the only one glad that the difficulty was a good thing? I played the Path of A and i found that it's a bit "normal" (not hard, but not quite easy). Well, if i have to play it again, it's probably a lot easier...

I didn't know upgrading the weapons were different in the Xbox version. I don't like the way the weapons get upgraded in the PS3, you can't max them in the earlier chapters :(

As to 1000 kills trophies, man, you get one for beating the game and using the same weapon throughout...

just browsing through this thread and i had to comment on this photo and your avatar. A+

Well the nerfed difficulty sucked for people who love the challenge. As for Path of the Acolyte and Warrior, I have no real problems in that, but Mentor and Master Ninja are a cakewalk compared to NG2. Heck, Mentor is harder than NGS2's MNM.

And on the xbox version you had an achievement for using the same weapon throughout the game, but there was a way you could play to the last chapter only using the windmill shuriken and incendiary shurikens and you could get the achievements all at once. Either way, both the achievement and trophy lists were both kinda lame. I have all 1250 from NG2 and it was in no way easy at all, but the NGS2 trophies are more tedious than challenging.

MPO not disrespectin the OP. i appreciate the heads up also. just saying that it can wait for the ppl who are tight on their financial situation. man if that 70% was 100% only fpses i'd quit gaming because it's just not for me.

bungie go get the demo for bayonetta dude. most of what i seen in the demo for ngs2 is the same as ngs1. yes the dial a combos are bigger if you combine the movelist for every weapon. hmm i'll be more specific. your freedom in stringing together different moves is limited compared to bayonetta or dmc. you can switch weapons on the fly instead of pressing start and switching like megaman, jump or dodge cancel instead of only just shuriken cancel

the game has a certain amount of replay value but not enough if you ask a lot of people who played it. I have no idea why tecmo hates new game + too. you work hard for your weapons and max them out but it is all for naught when the only way you can practice the weapon is to make multiple save point files. behold my unlabored flawlessness that I can't use in a new game!!!!
