Nintendo 3DS 129.99 at MACY's electronics vending machines.

Was at my local Macy's and saw some 3DS's inside and checked the price. Obviously a YMMV but a pretty decent price for the smaller 3DS. This was at the san francisco downtown men's side of Macy's for those in the Bay Area.

Does the machine take quarters? What happens if it gets stuck on the way down? I had a bad experience where a Snickers got stuck in a vending machine and I don't want to go through that again.

Just shake it a bit, it should work itself out.
@Wario64, I bought an iPod from one of the machines a few years back. I was told the machines were not a part of Macy's, and they would not accept returns on any item coming from it.

You have to go through a grueling celebrity gauntlet including Martha Stewart, Donald Trump, and Sean "Puffy" Combs. They'll take back your purchase if you can get through all those guys and listen to an entire Justin Bieber album without jumping out the window.

(It's a tough return policy.)

Same here. I always take a look at these machines any time I'm in a Macy's. They actually do have some decent deals now and then.

You do what you normally do with vending machines. If the mechanism didn't move and you really want the 3DS, you check to see if it's a fluke by inserting another $129.99. If it doesn't come out the second time, you assume the machine is broken and walk away.
 
Never seen one of these machines at Macy's near me. Probably would go for one but think I'm just going to upgrade for a XL tired of all the dead pixels on mine. Seems like whenever I send it in to get repaired more dead pixels show up within a week.

I read some posts from another thread and indeed they do charge tax (same rate as the area you're in)
 
Did we ever get one of these in a DFW mall? I dont remember seeing one in the Galleria, Stonrbriar or Parks in Arlington
 
This is actually very interesting to me. I have $100 Macy's gift card (was a gift) and have had it for over a year now with no plans to use it. So...essentially be a $30 spare 3DS, tempting.

I believe there is one on the second floor near the escalators at the Dallas Galleria unless it has been mover/removed.

There is one at the Parks Macy's, but when I went and checked it yesterday, I saw no 3ds's, regular or xl, at all. Only Beats and iPads, really. There was an empty spot, however, so I suppose it's possible somebody beat us to it.

Second floor, in mens, near the RL Polo clothing and the escalators if I remember correctly, just in case you wanted to check yourself.

There use to be one at the Macy's in NorthPark mall but it's been awhile since I've been there to confirm.
 
You guys are great. Ty. It has been a while since ive been to the area malls... guess i need to go check some out... have nearly 300 in macys GCs from relatives (despite hating that store
 
Just drove to 2 different Macy's stores.. same exact machines with same exact layout in them, meaning all them will have exactly same merchandise... sadly no 3DS XL... just the regular 3DS and all same teal color.

I appreciate the effort, but I have to disagree on them all being the same, because the one I visited was quite different. And like I said earlier in the thread, there were no DSs of any sort in the one I saw.

I think you misunderstood... I meant that any 3DS holding one will be the same (at least in the area). They do indeed have ones without 3DSs and those tend to be all the same...

It probably depends on who services them... the ones I drove to were all within 15 mile radius in Southern California. One didnt have 3dS at all and had different seleciton and the other 2 had same exact machines, same exact layout etc... it probably has to do with programming it.. they probably have a preset program that relies on things being in specific spots.

Ah, my bad! I get what you're saying. Sorry, it's been a very long day.
 
Got the 3DS! It was awesome. One important note, the machine apparently can't take more than one gift card for a single transaction. But I found a Macy's associate, and she easily combined my gift cards. Awesome way to get rid of my award points at work.

No XL's to the person who was asking.
 
Wow, from the pictures posted looks to be the large box version with cradle that I paid $250 for preorder 2 years ago. Still play mine pretty much everyday and I really like it and think it's the best version of not only the 3ds but the best handheld period.
