The world is watching. Nintendo has more people in thier corner than they've had in many years. Will they make a spectacular showing that gets every form of news media to acknowledge thier innovation, or will they stumble and lose everything they've worked for over the last (at least) 2 years.

Join us in AIM Chatroom "CAG" a bit before the confrence to throw out as much inane commentary as possible before Reggie makes us numb.

Wii.

Live from Gamespot. Same link you'd get from Nintendo.com

Live via Gametrailers.com...no clue what button works when and how. Guess Wii'll find out.

For the hell of it:

I've got popcorn and alcohol all ready to go. I expect to have the time of my life watching this. The bar is set HIGH.

Will be Edited for 'OH SNAP' response later.

OH SNAP!

I might have to work around the house, but I'll be watching if I can.

By the way, who has the best streaming coverage? Link please.
I'm guessing there little Nintendo bar/button will change to have live streaming options?
Yep. The button went live about an hour/45 minutes before the Sony confrence.

My concern is knowing exactly where to access these feeds. I don't want to scramble to find it when the conference starts.

EDIT:
Yep. The button went live about an hour/45 minutes before the Sony confrence.
Okay, thanks. At least I'll have that, but now I'm more interested in the hi-res feed from GameTrailers.

Hmm... was the GameSpot feed crapping out in the Sony conference for people watching free, or everyone? Debating if I pay $3 to subscribe.

It crapped out completely once, and some people had glitches.
I paid the extra $3 last night after the confrence so I could watch Nintys in a better resolution :)

Sadly I'll be at work. And since I can't access any of the other gaming websites from here, I'm relying on CAG to keep me updated.

I will probably do with this conference like I have done with all the conferences I have watched last year and this year wait until Gamespot has up the downloadable version several hours after it ends just to see it. Like I am doing right now downloading the Sony Conference from yesterday. So, I don't have to deal with losing the feed and lag.

It's something about seeing it live and chatting with people at the same time that you can never replicate after the fact. I want to know that my jaw is dropping at the same time as everyone elses.

Exactly, or colletively groaning when the news is less than spectacular - like I did hundreds of times with Sony's last night.

I thought I would be working from home today on my nice 5 Mbps cable connection. As luck would have it I have to work from my wife's office with their POS 125 Kb connection. Needless to say I am not a happy camper.

As Nigel suggested, PLEASE FEEL FREE to come into AIM Chatroom "cag" in 2.5 hours at the start of the conference.

IF you cannot get there on your own and need an invite, please feel free to PM me and/or message me on AIM under "Zeiganfreid." That should be in my profile as well.

Hopefully we'll get a few people like yesterday, which was an amazing amount of fun during Sony's conference.

I can just see this thread now... pages and pages of "OMG Wii is $200 - $250 I CAN BUY TWO OF THEM FOR ONE PS3" and "LOL NINTENDO IS SO COOL I HOPE THEY DONT ABANDON WII LIKE THEY DID THE GAMECUBE"

We're already there  I'll just be leaving it connected till the time comes, can't talk ALL morning at work.

Nice Pic :)

Having fun making obvious predictions this morning?

Yep, I enjoy feeling like Nostradamus.

I honestly think I might wait on the Wii now, considering Nintendo dropped Gamecube so fast... the system is pretty much already dead, except for Twilight Princess which will be better on the Wii anyways. Their systems start out awesome, but then kind of fizzle out.

...and the xbox has such an amazing amount of support from MS? If Gamecube had more 3rd party support and an installed base like the PS2/PS1 THEN i'd be worried about them dropping it so fast. Instead, its a dead system, and Nintendo now has a chance to fix most of thier mistakes (and so far, it looks they've done a damn good job)

I don't own a 360 either :p

Nintendo can at least port their games over that are still in Japan in the meantime, just to have SOMETHING, like Nintendo Puzzle Collection, instead of a release list filled with filler garbage. I mean, Gamestop only has about 20 titles to preorder for now, until the end of the year, and only two of them are worth something... one is a re-release, at that.

I mean, really, how hard is it to localize Nintendo Puzzle Collection? I guess I'll just always be bitter.

Hell, even the Xbox has fledgling third party support, Gamecube dosen't even have that much. I'm just worried that if the Wii starts doing poorly, they'll abandon that and just ride the portable coat-tails, much like they did with the Gamecube ---> DS.

GameFAQs poll of the day is awesome. I like how over 50% say the system is overpriced or laugh at the tilt functionality.

What are you going to be waiting for exactly? I guess if they follow the path of the GC, they'll stop supporting the Wii in four years and you can get it for $100. But it's kinda silly to compare the Wii to the GameCube as a product.

I agree. Why can't they bring over a few things that the Japanese got and we didn't like Puzzle Collection and Donkey Konga 3? They did it when the N64 was dying when they brought over DR Mario 64. The release list looks pretty bleak except for Zelda. Bring over something, anything!

I think I'm the only one on this site that could care less about the Wii right now... I don't think Nintendo is going to show anything shocking, I mean, everyone has already guessed at price, functionality, etc etc.

What I REALLY want them to announce is "Hey, look, at this! Mother 1 and 2 (Earthbound) is finally getting ported to the US on the GBA!! Yea!! And we're going to port Mother 3 as well!!!"

This will be the... 3rd E3 I've been waiting for this announcement? Maybe now that Mother 3 is out, Nintendo will port all 3 games at once.

Or maybe they just never will, because they are idiots. Thanks for publishing everyone else's GBA RPG's, but not your own.

I'm fine with my perfectly emulated Mother and Earthbound. Though Mother 3 would be nice, I'm sure some fan group will translate it.
It's funny to think that Twilight Princess will sell Gamecubes AND Wiis.
Twilight Princess is going to be my Wii killer app :D
Reggie will walk out to "Wii will rock you"
Even if I hated Nintendo at the end of the conference, that scene would make it all worthwhile.

You know it's funny, I haven't been thinking of the name "Wii" at all. I'm already almost completely used to it, and I didn't even think that they might address any concerns over it. They were smart in releasing the name when they did, because there doesn't seem to be any internet talk regarding it. It all seems to be focused on the games/product.

I'm used to "Wii" as well, but I still call it the Revolution..

A little over an hour.. hype level to the extreme!!!!!!

Work is already underway
