Tempted to get Super Mario U Deluxe today since I never owned a Wii U. Anyone else getting it?

I did the preorder through Amazon when the price dropped as my prime was already expired. I have it (with Luigu-U) on WiiU and played enough of it to know that it's a fantastic game. The switch version will just be a more convenient way to complete it and I might bring other family members into the fun. Nicely my copy showed up today with my preordered copy of Tales of Vesperia (Switch, with the old prime discount still intact) and my cheap 3DS game The Alliance Alive (which is indeed the launch version... there probably isn't a non-big box version). Amazon actually took the three separate orders and combined them into one bubble envelope. Thankfully no damage at all.

Yes the coop is fantastic. Both players pick a character and play through the game together. There's also two easy mode characters added to this one who basically can't die. Dying doesn't matter in coop anyway since you just respawn by the person still alive. It's a lot of fun. It's also drop in/out so you don't need a coop save file.

Toadette is a beast.  I'm having the most fun playing as her, difficulty aside, just because she has a number of different movement options.

Nabbit on the other hand, cannot be hit by anything.  My 5 year old nephew gets to play as nabbit and bubbles during difficult platforming sections (he can still die from falls)

Anyway, regarding NSMBU Deluxe I definitely think it’s a bit of a ripoff at $60, but the reason I decided to get it is because I have a 3-year old son. He watches me play a lot of stuff but I’ve been waiting for the right game to actually let him play and this is perfect. Nabbit is kind of an awful character for anyone who knows how to play the game, but he is perfect for a little one who is learning the ropes. I personally prefer stuff like DKCR:TF and Rayman Legends, but if you have small kids looking to actually play with you, NSMB is ideal.

Pulseman for Genesis looks cool. It was made by GameFreak who made the Pokémon games (although this game is a 2D platformer). It's 900 points because its a Japan release originally. Haven't played it but thinking about picking it up myself.

It doesn’t need two screens for the original Wii U version, but it does definitely need touch controls for making levels. I expect they’re taking the time to figure out the Maker portion of the game if you have your Switch docked. I gotta think they’ll eventually release it in some form on Switch. The game was too popular not to.

I couldn't make it through the intro cutscenes due to massive lag. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

It seems like an easy fix. If you want to make levels you use the Switch undocked and if you want to play on your TV you can dock it.

Seems like it would be easy enough to make levels on the tv if they use the joycon with ir camera and motion controls as a make shift mouse. They could also let people move a cursor around with traditional controls. Seems like there are many ways to make it work docked or undocked.

The only issue with undocked is this isn't a DS/3DS/WiiU type resistive touch screen but a capacitive touch screen and drawing/manipulating with a capacitive type stylus/pen (or a finger) is no where near as precise as with the resistive touch screen with a basic stylus. So it may actually be better to play it docked with that kind of screen if (when) they end up bring the series to the Switch.
