Would be tempted to grab Darkwood at a better price. It’s one of the best games I’ve played in years but I need more than 10% off for a double dip. Should be great on Switch, though.

20% isn't much of a discount but this has been on my wishlist since I looked into it and the first sale. Seems like a nice blend of 2d beat em up with the FREE/Openworld nature of Shenmue 1. I should probably compare it more to Kenka Bancho, but not sure how well that's known (I love PSP game we got). Anyone play this yet and have thoughts? I've watched videos so I know what the game is about, just wondering if it's going to be a big letdown or is pretty solid for what I'm expecting. If I weren't deep into Skyrim still with easily a month or more of content left to enjoy... I'd probably just buy this and play it now.

So now that the 3DS is basically done I’ve noticed the bargain bins are starting to fill up. So I’ve been looking for some titles I had some interest in but never wanted to spend much. Tonight at Walmart I found little battler’s experience for $5. They had other titles like chibi robo, ever oasis, nes remix, Metroid Samus returns, and Mario sports. YMMV but make sure to do a price check. For me LBX had a tag on it for $9 but rang up for $5. Some newer titles like Metroid were listed for $30.

I had to buy Robonauts now. I mean the game was always awesome, but I think it was like 20 cents....Damn Best Buy since i bought ONE STRIKE for fifty cents!

BY the BY, I LOVE NINTENDO!

I had to return my console because it turned out I DID INDEED have one of the defective units: the joy cons never synced correctly and then the joy cons started to malfunction. When I got the first return they gave me new joy cons but they still didnt sync. They started to unsync everything including my new joy cons from Mario party bundle. Finally, I sent it in for the third time, and they said screw it, and they sent me a BRAND NEW CONSOLE!!!!!!! And its true, the new ones ARE better. The new joy cons are much sturdier and feel better made, and there are little notches on the end of L and R button, almost like a little tiny brail tip. The screen is better , i dont know what it is, but its just a nicer screen along with the much better and sturdier kickstand...I had a first generation Launch from March 6, 2017 so i guess 2 years later they fixed some bugs and I’m very pleased, even though I had to lose about 3 weeks or so without it.....point of the story

I would be interested in seeing the improvements you talk about. I recently replaced my Joycons and they’re the same design as the originals. With all of the rumors about revisions, I wonder if you got one of them.
 
Yes, a third time. First I sent my controller, then I sent my second, then I sent my console....they gave me a new console?? Don’t be jealous dude ;)
(PS lol @ sony...they charge you for console work OR they give you a refurbished, used ps4....sony sucks)

I seem to have gotten at least the improvement because I have noticeably seen a difference in the color, but more importantly than the console itself, its the joy cons...those are DEFINITELY different. So I got two new joycons and a new Nintendo by mistake! I’m glad i had a defective launch unit

its almost impossible to see , its very very small and light, but you can certainly feel there is a fine, distinct ridge, on BOTH joy cons.... i measured this against the joy cons from the Mario party bundle from last year, so they are the green and yellow ones, they do NOT have these ridges nor do they have the same consistency....i cant take any picture of the ridge because i cant even see it with my eye, but i can tell you its a feel for sure

As far as the console, i can tell you this , the stand is definitely different. I took off the screen cover, to try to put it against a comparison, but i dont have my boys switch around...but when I do, I’ll try to remember to snap a pic...but its more about the joy con than anything (and i prefer the stand not feeling like its gonna break)

My Switch has worked fine since launch. Microsoft has given me a brand new console in store. Never had problem getting hardware from Sony. Refurbished or not. You really don't think Nintendo can pack a refurbished console like new? Lol

Yeah, I don't even respond to most of these guys anymore, as I've shown just a few of my "N" items I own, that shows my long-term fandom for the company. But I don't drink the kool-aid for anybody, and I'm not gonna start here, so I just state truths and or facts I know them to be, and move on.

As for those who think I haven't played MM2, I bought it for my son on release day, and have played it a few times. Not that that would matter, and MM1 had similar issues in regards to quality control. I have been enjoying the "N" made levels though, as they are pretty creative, and show that 2D Mario isn't dead, it just felt that way with those basic New Mario games of recent years(wash, rinse, and repeat).

Just sit tight, as an announcement on the mini should be happening anytime now, and that should be priced at $200. But of course, if you prefer the features and form factor of the OG, I would still suggest you wait. As the only way the current unit gets to $200, is once the mini arrives and makes for a more faster selling unit, which will in turn drive down the current price. It still may not reach $200, but you'll have a much better chance of seeing prices closer to that number, once it has direct competition for shelf space.

yeah, I didnt even see that post until now. He described it as if he literally knew, I knew there was just another version (min or pro) coming out soon. But not gonna lie, after seeing it im disappointed. Its not a switch anymore, Its Nintendos Vita. And I love the Vita but $200 for this with the 3ds/2ds XLs being at the price they are at those need to be $100 /rant

 
If I didn't already have one and a million accessories for it, I would be getting this day one. I'm one of the few, or maybe not so few considering they made this version, that use the Switch almost exclusively in handheld mode. If I'm using the TV, it's usually for the Xbox.

Some more info here. It'll only support games that have handheld mode support in the game, which is almost everything to be fair. I'm curious to see how well the save upload stuff will work to facilitate having both, but I'm likely getting this to leave the Switch in its dock so I have something that's better made for handheld play.

I would love to buy another for my daughter but without being able to share games like on Xbox I'm not fucking with Nintendo. No way I'm buying games for each system. They can miss me with that.

They took out a lot of features for the $100 price drop. You can find a full Switch for under $250 with deals.

They look super nice though but damn price is a deal breaker for me.

I have 3 kids but never did the multi system thing so it took a minute to process the "games for each system" comment. Considering multiplayer would be a big reason for purchase for us as well I'm definitely out. Maybe Nintendo will add game sharing to the store to go after what will undoubtedly be a growing market for them.

Also, nice to hear about better battery and I expected the built in controls but having a lower end processor and dropping docking altogether are pretty harsh cuts. I agree that waiting for a $250 deal for a regular switch sounds smarter unless you are dying for a smaller form factor.

Yeah both of my kids want a Switch but without game sharing at least for 2, multiple switches is a no go for me.
 
I play my Switch about 90% of the time portable. I do like the idea and if they get a deal later may get one of these for better portability, but I have to likely see one in person first. I do love my switch. I think the only thing that took me a long time to get used to was the placement of the 2 joysticks. Still feels weird sometimes.
